A Proof-of-Concept IoT System for Remote Healthcare Based on Interoperability Standards

[EN] The Internet of Things paradigm in healthcare has boosted the design of new solutions for the promotion of healthy lifestyles and the remote care. Thanks to the effort of academia and industry, there is a wide variety of platforms, systems and commercial products enabling the real-time information exchange of environmental data and people's health status. However, one of the problems of these type of prototypes and solutions is the lack of interoperability and the compromised scalability in large scenarios, which limits its potential to be deployed in real cases of application. In this paper, we propose a health monitoring system based on the integration of rapid prototyping hardware and interoperable software to build system capable of transmitting biomedical data to healthcare professionals. The proposed system involves Internet of Things technologies and interoperablility standards for health information exchange such as the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources and a reference framework architecture for Ambient Assisted Living UniversAAL.This research received no external funding. Determinantes de los ingresos laborales de los contadores públicos de la Universidad EAFIT, Colombia

El objetivo principal de este artículo es presentar los resultados de una investigación cuyo propósito fue establecer los determinantes de los salarios de los graduados de Contaduría Pública de la Universidad EAFIT, partiendo de la hipótesis que son el nivel de educación y la experiencia laboral acumulada, los principales factores que inciden en los salarios de los contadores. Se realiza un estudio de los principales indicadores del mercado laboral como son las tasas de ocupación, desempleo y subempleo y a través de una ecuación minceriana se muestra cuáles son los principales factores que inciden en una mejor remuneración salarial.The main purpose of this research is to identify the determinants of the wages of Certified Public Accountants (CAPs), who graduated from EAFIT University. As working hypothesis, we assume that the level of education and the years of professional experience are the main factors affecting wages. We estimate the Mincer equation, controlling for socioeconomic and employment characteristics of the alumni of the Accountancy program. The results obtained by the regression model show that the main factors affecting wages are the position, the fact of being employed by multinational companies, the fact of being male, the fact of being involved in an emotional relationship (currently or recently), and having a longer professional experience in terms of years

La despolitización de la sociedad y la supuesta despolitización del Estado, la privatización del espacio público y la mercantilización de las relaciones sociales no dieron paso a sociedades más justas ni incluyentes ni deliberativas. El abandono de cualquier esperanza de capacidad regulativa a partir del autogobierno ha puesto a nuestras sociedades a merced de empresas, bandas y grupos criminales sin contrapeso. Se ha hecho evidente el deterioro de nuestras posibilidades de construir un orden social más justo, incluso viable. Descripción: Estrategias de Redacción es un curso de Humanidades, que brinda al participante un conjunto de herramientas lingüísticas para la redacción en el entorno laboral, tales como el uso apropiado de la normativa del español y la aplicación de la estrategia de redacción enumerativa. Esta última se emplea en la elaboración de un tipo de documento: el informe de recomendación. Propósito: El curso desarrolla la competencia de comunicación escrita en el primer nivel de logro.
