This research is aimed to improve the students' learning interest in mastering vocabulary using Microsoft PowerPoint. Common activity which was done by the teacher in teaching learning process using blackboard and chalk were subtituted by using Power Point Slide with LCD Projector, sound system, etc. Through those devices the material presented in audio visual, colorful, and real picture in order to make the students interested in learning English. So, the technology was important to arouse the students' interest in learning English, especially in mastering vocabulary. The research methodology applied in this research is action research with two cycles in which each cycle starts from planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data collected was the qualitative data from observation, field note, interview, and document. The study revealed that the implementation of PowerPoint has succeeded in improving the students' learning interest and vocabulary mastery. That the implementation of PowerPoint has significant improvement to the teacher teaching competence, I would like to propose some suggestions for the English teachers, especially those who teach in Junior High School to apply media to conduct the teaching learning process in the class, improve their acquisition of knowledge about ICT in teaching and provide more chance for the students to practice their English during the lesson

Multisite dependency of an E3 ligase controls monoubiquitylation-dependent cell fate decisions.
Metazoan development depends on tightly regulated gene expression programs that instruct progenitor cells to adopt specialized fates. Recent work found that posttranslational modifications, such as monoubiquitylation, can determine cell fate also independently of effects on transcription, yet how monoubiquitylation is implemented during development is poorly understood. Here, we have identified a regulatory circuit that controls monoubiquitylation-dependent neural crest specification by the E3 ligase CUL3 and its substrate adaptor KBTBD8. We found that CUL3KBTBD8 monoubiquitylates its essential targets only after these have been phosphorylated in multiple motifs by CK2, a kinase whose levels gradually increase during embryogenesis. Its dependency on multisite phosphorylation allows CUL3KBTBD8 to convert the slow rise in embryonic CK2 into decisive recognition of ubiquitylation substrates, which in turn is essential for neural crest specification. We conclude that multisite dependency of an E3 ligase provides a powerful mechanism for switch-like cell fate transitions controlled by monoubiquitylation

Baade's red sheet resolved into stars with HST in the Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxy VII Zw 403
HST WFPC2 observations of the nearby Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxy VII~Zw~403 (=
UGC 6456) resolve single stars down to M-2.5, deep enough to
identify red giants. This population has a more uniform spatial distribution
than the young main-sequence stars and supergiants, forming the structure known
as "Baade's red sheet". We conclude that VII~Zw~403 is not a primeval galaxy.Comment: submitted to: ApJ Letter

Ladder operators for subtle hidden shape invariant potentials
Ladder operators can be constructed for all potentials that present the
integrability condition known as shape invariance, satisfied by most of the
exactly solvable potentials. Using the superalgebra of supersymmetric quantum
mechanics we construct the ladder operators for two exactly solvable potentials
that present a subtle hidden shape invariance.Comment: 9 pages, based on the talk given at International Conference Progress

Identification and characterization of an irreversible inhibitor of CDK2
Irreversible inhibitors that modify cysteine or lysine
residues within a protein kinase ATP binding site offer, through their distinctive mode of action, an alternative to ATP-competitive agents. 4-((6-(Cyclohexylmethoxy)-
9H-purin-2-yl)amino)benzenesulfonamide (NU6102) is a potent and selective ATP-competitive inhibitor of CDK2 in which the sulfonamide moiety is positioned close to a pair of lysine residues. Guided by the CDK2/NU6102 structure, we designed 6-(cyclohexylmethoxy)-N-(4-(vinylsulfonyl)phenyl)-9H-purin-2-amine (NU6300), which binds covalently to CDK2 as shown by a co-complex crystal
structure. Acute incubation with NU6300 produced a durable inhibition of Rb phosphorylation in SKUT-1B cells, consistent with it acting as an irreversible CDK2 inhibitor. NU6300 is the first covalent CDK2 inhibitor to be described, and illustrates the potential of vinyl sulfones for the design of more potent and selective compounds
A Stellar Population Gradient in VII Zw 403 - Implications for the Formation of Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxies
We present evidence for the existence of an old stellar halo in the Blue
Compact Dwarf galaxy VII Zw 403. VII Zw 403 is the first Blue Compact Dwarf
galaxy for which a clear spatial segregation of the resolved stellar content
into a "core-halo" structure is detected. Multicolor HST/WFPC2 observations
indicate that active star formation occurs in the central region, but is
strikingly absent at large radii. Instead, a globular-cluster-like red giant
branch suggests the presence of an old (> 10 Gyr) and metal poor
(=-1.92) stellar population in the halo. While the vast majority of
Blue Compact Dwarf galaxies has been recognized to possess halos of red color
in ground-based surface photometry, our observations of VII Zw 403 establish
for the first time a direct correspondence between a red halo color and the
presence of old, red giant stars. If the halos of Blue Compact Dwarf galaxies
are all home to such ancient stellar populations, then the fossil record
conflicts with delayed-formation scenarios for dwarfs.Comment: Accepted for publication in the Ap
405-nm pumped Ce3+-doped silica fiber for broadband fluorescence from cyan to red
A pure Ce-doped silica fiber is fabricated using modified chemical vapor deposition (MCVD) technique. Fluorescence characteristics of a Ce-doped silica fiber are experimentally investigated with continuous wave pumping from 440 nm to 405 nm. Best pump absorption and broad fluorescence spectrum is observed for ~ 405 nm laser. Next, the detailed analysis of spectral response as a function of pump power and fiber length is performed. It is observed that a -10dB spectral width of ~ 280 mn can be easily achieved with different combinations of the fiber length and pump power. Lastly, we present, for the first time to the best of our knowledge, a broadband fluorescence spectrum with -10dB spectral width of 301 nm, spanning from ~ 517.36 nm to ~ 818 nm, from such fibers with non-UV pump lasers
