    Zakat Compliance Behaviour: Good Corporate Governance with Muzakki’s Trust Approach (Survey on Muzakki of the National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) in Garut)

    Zakat is obligation for every muslim which should be done. Beside the religious orders, zakat is also very influential for regional economic growth, especially the wealth distribution from each capable individual to unable. In Indonesia, the discrepancy between the potential and realization of zakat funds still being a phenomenon that must be resolved. One of the reasons why there is an imbalance between the potential and realization of zakat funds is because of the disobedience of muzakki in paying zakat. This research identifies the effect of good corporate governance implementation in zakat institutions on zakat paying compliance through muzakki’s trust in as a mediating variable. The number of samples used was as much as 100 muzakki spread in several service offices in Garut. The sample was selected using purposive sampling method with quota sampling technique. This study uses path analysis to identify good corporate governance in zakat institutions towards zakat paying compliance through muzakki’s trust as a mediating variable by causality method. The results showed that Good corporate governance and muzakki’s trust in that zakat institutions were in the high category and muzakki’s zakat paying in a high compliance too.     Keywords: Zakat, Compliance, Trust, Governanc

    Ross Eckler discusses a problem in his article Planet Packing in the May 2001 Word Ways: given a list of words, such as the names of the planets, how efficiently can they be packed into a single string of characters so that each word on the list can be read off left to right (but not necessarily contiguously)? He hypothesizes there is no guarantee that any algorithm will end up with a minimum string. Since the design and analysis of algorithms has been my area of research for some 25 years, this caught my attention. Informally, an algorithm is a terminating procedure that could be coded as a computer program. (However, the procedure in the Planet Packing article does not contain enough tie-breaking rules to qualify as an algorithm)

    Turbulent transport stabilization by ICRH minority fast ions in low rotating JET ILW L-mode plasmas

    The first experimental demonstration that fast ion induced stabilization of thermal turbulent transport takes place also at low values of plasma toroidal rotation has been obtained in JET ILW (ITER-like wall) L-mode plasmas with high ( 3 He)-D ICRH (ion cyclotron resonance heating) power. A reduction of the gyro-Bohm normalized ion heat flux and higher values of the normalized ion temperature gradient have been observed at high ICRH power and low NBI (neutral beam injection) power and plasma rotation. Gyrokinetic simulations indicate that ITG (ion temperature gradient) turbulence stabilization induced by the presence of high-energetic 3 He ions is the key mechanism in order to explain the experimental observations. Two main mechanisms have been identified to be responsible for the turbulence stabilization: a linear electrostatic wave-fast particle resonance mechanism and a nonlinear electromagnetic mechanism. The dependence of the stabilization on the 3 He distribution function has also been studied.</p

    A Key to Improved Ion Core Confinement in the JET Tokamak: Ion Stiffness Mitigation due to Combined Plasma Rotation and Low Magnetic Shear

    New transport experiments on JET indicate that ion stiffness mitigation in the core of a rotating plasma, as described by Mantica et al. Phys. Rev. Lett. 102 175002 (2009)] results from the combined effect of high rotational shear and low magnetic shear. The observations have important implications for the understanding of improved ion core confinement in advanced tokamak scenarios. Simulations using quasilinear fluid and gyrofluid models show features of stiffness mitigation, while nonlinear gyrokinetic simulations do not. The JET experiments indicate that advanced tokamak scenarios in future devices will require sufficient rotational shear and the capability of q profile manipulation. © 2011 American Physical Societ

    Modelling of the effect of ELMs on fuel retention at the bulk W divertor of JET

    Effect of ELMs on fuel retention at the bulk W target of JET ITER-Like Wall was studied with multi-scale calculations. Plasma input parameters were taken from ELMy H-mode plasma experiment. The energetic intra-ELM fuel particles get implanted and create near-surface defects up to depths of few tens of nm, which act as the main fuel trapping sites during ELMs. Clustering of implantation-induced vacancies were found to take place. The incoming flux of inter-ELM plasma particles increases the different filling levels of trapped fuel in defects. The temperature increase of the W target during the pulse increases the fuel detrapping rate. The inter-ELM fuel particle flux refills the partially emptied trapping sites and fills new sites. This leads to a competing effect on the retention and release rates of the implanted particles. At high temperatures the main retention appeared in larger vacancy clusters due to increased clustering rate

    Tritium distributions on W-coated divertor tiles used in the third JET ITER-like wall campaign

    Tritium (T) distributions on tungsten (W)-coated plasma-facing tiles used in the third ITER-like wall campaign (2015–2016) of the Joint European Torus (JET) were examined by means of an imaging plate technique and β-ray induced x-ray spectrometry, and they were compared with the distributions after the second (2013–2014) campaign. Strong enrichment of T in beryllium (Be) deposition layers was observed after the second campaign. In contrast, T distributions after the third campaign was more uniform though Be deposition layers were visually recognized. The one of the possible explanations is enhanced desorption of T from Be deposition layers due to higher tile temperatures caused by higher energy input in the third campaign

    First mirror test in JET for ITER: Complete overview after three ILW campaigns

    The First Mirror Test for ITER has been carried out in JET with mirrors exposed during: (i) the third ILW campaign (ILW-3, 2015–2016, 23.33 h plasma) and (ii) all three campaigns, i.e. ILW-1 to ILW-3: 2011–2016, 63,52 h in total. All mirrors from main chamber wall show no significant changes of the total reflectivity from the initial value and the diffuse reflectivity does not exceed 3% in the spectral range above 500 nm. The modified layer on surface has very small amount of impurities such as D, Be, C, N, O and Ni. All mirrors from the divertor (inner, outer, base under the bulk W tile) lost reflectivity by 20–80% due to the beryllium-rich deposition also containing D, C, N, O, Ni and W. In the inner divertor N reaches 5×1017^{17} cm−2^{-2}, W is up to 4.3×1017^{17} cm−2^{-2}, while the content of Ni is the greatest in the outer divertor: 3.8×1017^{17} cm−2^{-2}. Oxygen-18 used as the tracer in experiments at the end of ILW-3 has been detected at the level of 1.1×1016^{16} cm−2^{-2}. The thickness of deposited layer is in the range of 90 nm to 900 nm. The layer growth rate in the base (2.7 pm s−1^{-1}) and inner divertor is proportional to the exposure time when a single campaign and all three are compared.
