An approach for linguistic multi-attribute decision making based on linguistic many-valued logic

    Get PDF
There are various types of multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) problems in our daily lives and decision-making problems under uncertain environments with vague and imprecise information involved. Therefore, linguistic multi-attribute decision-making problems are an important type studied extensively. Besides, it is easier for decision-makers to use linguistic terms to evaluate/choose among alternatives in real life. Based on the theoretical foundation of the Hedge algebra and linguistic many-valued logic, this study aims to address multi-attribute decision-making problems by linguistic valued qualitative aggregation and reasoning method. In this paper, we construct a finite monotonous Hedge algebra for modeling the linguistic information related to MADM problems and use linguistic many-valued logic for deducing the outcome of decision making. Our method computes directly on linguistic terms without numerical approximation. This method takes advantage of linguistic information processing and shows the benefit of Hedge algebra

Comparison of calcium carbonate and titania particles on improving color homogeneity and luminous flux of WLEDs

    Get PDF
In this paper, the experiments on phosphor-converted LEDs (pc-LEDs) with a correlated color temperature (CCT) of 8500K has been conducted with the scattering enhancement particles (SEPs) to achieve the higher color uniformity and emitted luminous flux of pc-LEDs. Moreover, this paper also introduced about choosing scattering enhancement particles (SEPs), including calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and titania (TiO2), and compared these particles’ properties by adding them into the yellow Y3Al5O12:Ce3+ phosphor compounding. Afterward, the LightTools program was applied to illustrate the optical simulation, and obtained results was analyzed and verified by applying the Mie-scattering theory. The scattering coefficients, the anisotropic scattering, the reduced scattering, and the scattering amplitudes at 455 nm and 595 nm are included in the scattering computation of SEPs. According to researched results, among the SEPs, TiO2 particles result in the highest value of color uniformity. However, a rise in their concentration is the cause of a sharp decline in luminous flux. Meanwhile, CaCO3 particles show the ability of reducing the deviated level in correlated color temperature by 620K if there is employed 30% of CaCO3 concentration. Hence, CaCO3 particles are the recommendation for achieving higher chromatic homogeneity and lumen output

Excellent color quality of phosphor converted white light emitting diodes with remote phosphor geometry

The remote phosphor structure is disadvantageous in color quality but more convenient in luminous flux when compared to conformal phosphor or in-cup phosphor structure. From this disadvantage, there are many studies to improve the color quality of the remote phosphor structure. This research will propose a dual-layer remote phosphor structure to improve color rendering index (CRI) and color quality scale (CQS) of WLEDs. The WLED package with color temperature of 8500 K is utilized in this study. The idea of the study is to locate a layer of phosphor green Y2O2S:Tb3+ or red ZnS:Sn2+ on the yellow phosphor YAG:Ce3+ film, and then finding the suitable added concentration of ZnS:Sn2+ to match the highest color quality. The results showed that ZnS:Sn2+ brings great benefits to increase CRI and CQS. The greater the ZnS:Sn2+ concentration is, the higher the CRI and CQS become owing to the rise in red light components in WLEDs. Meanwhile, the green Y2O2S:Tb3+ phosphor brings benefits to luminous flux. However, the decrease in luminous flux and color quality occurs when the concentration of ZnS:Sn2+ and Y2O2S:Tb3+ exceeds the corresponding level. This is proved by applying Mie-scattering theory and Lambert-Beer's law. The results of articles are important for WLEDs’ fabrication having higher white light quality

The genus Plectocomia Mart. ex Blume had 16 species, distributed in India, Myanma, China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam. According to literatures there were 2 species in the flora of Vietnam, such as P. elongata Mart. ex Blume and P. khasyana Becc. Hook.f. which was the synonym of P. kerrana Becc.. During the specimen study, we have found P. pierreana Becc. as a new record for the flora of Vietnam. This species was published by Gagnepain, 1937 in the “Flore GÐnÐrale de l’Indochine” as P. cambodiana Gagnep., and with the distribution in Cambodia. The specimens were collected in the Laocai, Tuyenquang and Vinhphuc provinces. This species differed from the others by group of sheath spines scattered, fruit 2 cm in diameter and bracts tomentosa

Self-adaptive Controllers for Renewable Energy Communities Based on Transformer Loading Estimation

    Get PDF
In this paper, self-adaptive controllers for renewable energy communities based on data-driven approach are proposed to mitigate the voltage rise and transformer congestion at the community level. In the proposed approach, the transformer loading percentage is estimated by the trained data-driven model, which uses the extreme gradient boosting regression algorithm based on a measurement set acquired from critical coupling points of the communities. To avoid voltage rise issues, the droop control parameters (i.e., voltage threshold for P - V, Q - V curves) are adaptively tuned based on the solar irradiance availability and estimated transformer loading. The proposed approach has been tested in the IEEE European LV distribution network. Results showed that the control approach could effectively reduce 22.2 % of the total overloaded instances, while still keeping voltage magnitude in the operation range. This method can help DSOs manage voltage violation and congestion without further communication

This study aims to estimate the level of satisfaction about resettlement arrangements for local people who have been affected by A Luoi hydroelectric construction project in the Thua Thien Hue province. This research used the Likert scale method to assess the satisfaction level of 98 households living in two of the resettlement sites. Results illustrate that there is variations in the level of satisfaction of local people in the two resettlement sites, Hong Thuong and Hong Ha. In the resettlement area (RA) of the Hong Thuong Commune, people are dissatisfied with the location arrangement. There is a lack of quality in the houses built, been damaged, cracked and degraded, since the construction design is not appropriate for the customs and practices of local people, with a satisfaction rating of 1.07. Meanwhile, at the resettlement site of the Hong Ha commune, people felt satisfied with the arrangement site of the RA and allocated residential land area with the satisfaction rating of 4.19. Our results will help the government, as well as the project owners, to understand the points of dissatisfaction of local people in order to have accordant solutions, ensuring the stable life for local people in those settlement areas. The Mekong Delta of Vietnam is a region rich in aquatic resources having high potential for aquaculture development. Inland aquaculture in the Mekong Delta has greatly increased since the last decade. Fish culture carried out in combination with other agricultural activities such as animal husbandry and rice cultivation, and intensive aquaculture in ponds and cages have been the dominant forms of fish production. However, the giant freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, has recently become a species of economic significance and the target of aquaculture activity in the Mekong Delta. M. rosenbergii is cultured throughout the region in the rice fields, ponds, orchard gardens and in pens along river banks. The major constraints in this industry are seed supply and culture techniques, becoming the major obstacles for the further development of the culture of this species. In a collaborative research project implemented between the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) and Cantho University (CTU) since 1994, studies have been carried out on various aspects relating to the establishment of M. rosenbergii seed production and culture technology. The project is now in the middle of its second phase and has generated a great deal of scientific and practical information. This paper presents an overview of the achievements of this project
