Financial technology (known as Fintech) is one of the most prominent trends in the global industrial revolution 4.0. It refers to innovative technology that aims to enhance and automate the delivery and usage of financial services. As a result of the effects of the covid 19 epidemic, particularly the social distancing policy and the demand for digital connectedness, the formation of fintech firms providing various types of services has expanded rapidly (Feyen et al., 2021). This financial industry innovation provides numerous positive effects, but it also contains considerable risks for customers, suppliers, and intermediaries, especially cyber security risks. Based on prior research subjects such as perceived risk variables influencing intention to use Fintech (Tang et al., 2020) and the connection between risk perception and preventative behavior (Alqahtani et al., 2021; van Schaik et al., 2017), this study will focus on two main goals. The first objective is to discover and recognize factors that influence consumers' perceptions of possible hazards when using fintech. Then, we will examine the effect of risk perception on consumer precautionary behavior regarding information security. Therefore, investors and founders of Fintech software may better understand their customers' requirements and develop more security solutions. The findings indicate that knowledge, affect, and trust are the primary determinants influencing the risk perception of Fintech consumers in Vietnam and Norway. Nevertheless, there exists a disparity in the level of their impact when contrasting the two nations. Furthermore, it was observed that risk perception served as a predictor of Fintech users’ precautionary behavior. The research model's reliability and validity are ensured through the utilization of SmartPLS software for the analysis of survey data

This study aims to identify important factors that directly influence value chain performance (quality, responsiveness, flexibility and efficiency), which are explained by value chain integration (collaboration, commitment, coordination and joint decision-making) in the case of unexpected risk (the COVID-19 pandemic). This study contributes to maintaining the business linkage model among farmers – cooperatives – enterprises in the caseof the COVID-19 pandemic and quickly recovering after the COVID-19 pandemic. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used for data analysis following an iterative process based on theoretical and empirical analyses toobtain a structural model fit and test the research hypothesis. The findings indicate that the VCI positively influenced the VCP of Chu-mango business linkages at the 1% significance level through coordination (Beta = 0.345;construct reliability (CR) = 3.272), collaboration (Beta = 0.289; CR = 3.128), and joint decision-making (Beta = 0.324; CR = 3.245). This study provides empirical data on the relationship between VCI and VCP through the Chu -mango value chain in Dong Thap Province during the COVID-19 pandemic to raise awareness from stakeholders and encourage value chain thinking to improve performance. This result may pave the way for relevant policymakers to look for policies and strategies for better inclusiveness of stakeholders to show the importance of the VCI in improving the performance. Moreover, the study is an empirical case contributing to the agribusiness value chain in a developing country; it applies the agribusiness value chain of the tropical fruit domain and can be used for otheragricultural products in other cases of unexpected risks

The traditional morphological concept to dental care has shown many drawbacks and is not appropriate in many cases. To counteract these shortcomings, a problem-solving approach has been introduced in dental curriculum of Cantho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP), Vietnam. This approach should be reflected in dental practice in CTUMP. Objective: To investigate the problem-solving approach to dental care of CTUMP by patterns of tooth extraction, and tooth rehabilitation. Methods: Cross-sectional data on DMF, dental treatments planned, dental treatments delivered from 1549 dental records of patients aged ≥18 of CTUMP were analyzed. Results: The majority of patients were aged 18-29 (929, 60%), classified as professional and skilled workers (1112 subjects, 72%), lived in urban areas (1156 subjects, 75%), and women (932, 60%). The number of teeth eventually receiving dental treatment was lower than the number of teeth indicated for the treatment. On average, each patient had 2 teeth receiving treatment. Tooth restoration was the most common treatment (1390, 70%). Molars were the most treated teeth (842, 43%). Molars showed statistically significant higher chance for restoration and extraction than premolars and anterior teeth (Wilcoxon-signed-ranks test p ≤ 0.017). No statistically significance was found in tooth replacement between premolar and molar regions. The dental treatments aimed to preserve all teeth regardless of dental regions. Tooth replacement may tend to be morphologically based rather than functionally as most prostheses restored the complete dental arch. Conclusions: The approach to dental care in CTUMP tends to be morphologically conservative.DOI: 10.14693/jdi.v22i1.37

Necessity for the policy to reinforce the role of universities from innovative startup competitions at the innovative startup ecosystem in Vietnam

    Get PDF
Universities have always been a place to grow and foster innovation, which often leads to the founding of startups and the introduction of innovative goods or services. One key contributor to this occurs in the form of innovative startup competitions on a university level. In this paper, we highlight the role of such university startup competitions in providing a favorable environment for students to participate in innovation activities and to organize contests of innovative startup ideas. We further categorize innovative startup competitions in Vietnam as a real-world example, and present the results of a local survey on university student participation in innovative startup competitions. Finally, we suggest various solutions as the necessary policy to strengthen the role of universities in the existing startup ecosystem

Site-directed mutagenesis of the steroid-15beta-hydroxylase (CYP106A2) from Bacillus megaterium ATCC 13368 to alter the regio-selectivity of progesterone hydroxylation

CYP106A2 is known as 15b-hydroxylase, but also shows 11a-hydroxylase activity for progesterone, an important pharmaceutical compound. This work focused on the production of a regio-selective hydroxy derivative of progesterone at the C-11 position using site directed mutagenesis of CYP106A2. Based on the docked progesterone-CYP106A2 model, a saturation mutagenesis library (13100 transformants) at positions A395 and G397 had been created to verify the effect of these residues on the regio-selective hydroxylation. Forty of these transformants were randomly selected and screened for higher 11a-hydroxyprogesterone production. Mutants A395I and A395W/G397K showed the highest 11a-hydroxyprogesterone production (19.5 and 56.4-fold, respectively) despite a lower catalytic activity as compared with the WT. Therefore, these mutants were further mutated to improve their catalytic efficiency. Eight new mutants were found to have a higher turnover rate along with an improved 11a-hydroxyprogesterone production. Mutants A106T/A395I and T89N/A395I showed the highest amounts of 11a-hydroxyprogesterone, 2.8- and 4.4-fold increased, respectively, compared with the parent mutants, and 54.9- and 85.2-fold, respectively, compared with the WT. Interestingly, the in vivo conversion of progesterone with the mutant T89N/A395I nearly produced the 11a-hydroxyprogesterone. Since the 11a-hydroxyprogesterone exhibits an antiandrogeneic activity and plays a role in the regulation of the blood pressure, the mutant has a potential scope as biocatalyst.CYP106A2 ist als 15b-Hydroxylase bekannt, zeigt aber auch 11a-Hydroxylase Aktivität für Progesteron.

This study aims to build a regression model when surveying the milling process on S50C steel using Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL) of Vietnamese peanut oil-based on Response Surface Methodology. The paper analyses and evaluates the effect of cutting parameters, flow rates, and pressures in minimum quantity lubrication system on cutting force and surface roughness in the milling process of S50C carbon steel materials after heat treatment (reaching a hardness of 52 HRC). The Taguchi method, one of the most effective experimental planning methods nowadays, is used in this study. The statistical analysis software, namely Minitab 19, is utilized to build a regression model between parameters of the cutting process, flow rates and pressures of the minimum quantity lubrication system and the cutting force, surface roughness of the part when machining on a 5-axis CNC milling machine. Thereby analyzing and predicting the effect of cutting parameters and minimum quantity lubrication conditions on the surface roughness and cutting force during machining to determine the influence level them. In this work, the regression models of Ra and F were achieved by using the optimizer tool in Minitab 19. Moreover, the multi-response optimization problem was solved. The optimum cutting parameters and lubricating conditions are as follows: Cutting velocity Vc=190.909 m/min, feed rate fz=0.02 mm/tooth, axial depth of cut ap=0.1 and nozzle pressure P=5.596 MPa, flow rate Q=108.887 ml/h. The output parameters obtained from the above parameters are Ra=0.0586  and F=162.035 N, respectively. This result not only provides the foundation for future research but also contributes reference data for the machining proces

Mimosa pudica L., also called sensitive plant or touch-me-not, belongs to the genus Mimosa (Family: Mimosaceae). This plant grows as a weed in nearly every parts of Vietnam and is used as a traditional medicine for the treatment of some diseases. This study aims to evaluate the antibacterial activity of the water and ethanol extracts of this plant by using disc diffusion method. The total flavonoid as quercetin equivalent (QE) per gram (dry weight) of these two extracts was also estimated. The result of tests for in-vitro antibacterial activity indicates that the ethanol extract showed significant activity against E.coli, S.aureus, B.subtilis and S.typhi with the zone of inhibition was 11mm, 19mm, 17mm and 16mm respectively. The water extract only inhibited the growth of S.aureus (14mm) and B.subtilis (15mm) and there was no resistance against E.coli and S.typhi. The analysis of total flavonoid content found that the ethanol extract contains higher amount of flavonoid than water extract and flavonoid is responsible mainly for the antibacterial activity of Mimosa pudica L
