Mobile Application for Network Scanning
Předmětem této bakalářské práce je navrhnout a implementovat mobilní aplikaci pro operační systém Android, která umožňuje nalézt připojená zařízení v síti, zobrazit detaily o síti a jednotlivých připojených zařízeních. Pro každé nalezené zařízení lze vybrat vlastní ikonu a přidat poznámku. Aplikace také zaznamenává logy a statistiky. Vybrané zařízení lze také napadnout pomocí útoků typu Denial of Service.The subject of this bachelor's thesis is to design and implement an application for Android operating system that allows the discovery of all connected devices in a local network and to display information about it and all of its devices. The application would allow the user to assign a custom icon and a note to each device within the network. Logs and statistics are also collected by the application. In addition, it is possible to attack the selected device using various Denial of Service attacks.
Influence of matrix on damage of fiber composites
Hlavním tématem této bakalářské práce je zkoumání vlivu matrice na porušování vláknových kompozitních materiálů. Teoretická část práce se zabývá základním popisem a rozdělením kompozitních materiálů a jejich mechanismem porušování. Experimentální část se skládá z vykonání mechanických zkoušek na zkušebních tělesech s polymerní matricí a následné vyhodnocení mechanických vlastností. Ve finální části se práce věnuje zkoumání a vyhodnocení mikrostruktury pomocí mikroskopických analýz.The main theme of this bachelor thesis is the investigation of matrix effects on damage of fiber composite materials. The theoretical part deals with the basic description and the division of the composite materials and their damage mechanism. Experimental part is focused on mechanical tests for specimens with a polymer matrix and then to evaluate the mechanical properties. The final part is about the examination of the microstructure
Quantitative photoluminescence of broad band absorbing melanins: A procedure to correct for inner filter and re-absorption effects
We report methods for correcting the photoluminescence emission and
excitation spectra of highly absorbing samples for re-absorption and inner
filter effects. We derive the general form of the correction, and investigate
various methods for determining the parameters. Additionally, the correction
methods are tested with highly absorbing fluorescein and melanin (broadband
absorption) solutions; the expected linear relationships between absorption and
emission are recovered upon application of the correction, indicating that the
methods are valid. These procedures allow accurate quantitative analysis of the
emission of low quantum yield samples (such as melanin) at concentrations where

Excitated state properties of 20-chloro-chlorophyll a
The excited-state and lasing properties of 20-chloro-chlorophyll a in ether solution were compared to those of chlorophyll a. Desactivation parameters and cross-sections were obtained from non-linear absorption spectroscopy in combination with a physico-mathematical methods package. The Cl substituent at C-20 (1) increases both intersystem crossing and internal conversion, (2) produces a blue-shift of the S1 absorption spectrum, and (3) leads to pronounced photochemistry
Quantification of cellular autofluorescence of human skin using multiphoton tomography and fluorescence lifetime imaging in two spectral detection channels
We explore the diagnostic potential of imaging endogenous fluorophores using two photon microscopy and fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM) in human skin with two spectral detection channels. Freshly excised benign dysplastic nevi (DN) and malignant nodular Basal Cell Carcinomas (nBCCs) were excited at 760 nm. The resulting fluorescence signal was binned manually on a cell by cell basis. This improved the reliability of fitting using a double exponential decay model and allowed the fluorescence signatures from different cell populations within the tissue to be identified and studied. We also performed a direct comparison between different diagnostic groups. A statistically significant difference between the median mean fluorescence lifetime of 2.79 ns versus 2.52 ns (blue channel, 300-500 nm) and 2.08 ns versus 1.33 ns (green channel, 500-640 nm) was found between nBCCs and DN respectively, using the Mann-Whitney U test (p < 0.01). Further differences in the distribution of fluorescence lifetime parameters and inter-patient variability are also discussed
Towards Structure-Property-Function Relationships for Eumelanin
We discuss recent progress towards the establishment of important
structure-property-function relationships in eumelanins - key functional
bio-macromolecular systems responsible for photo-protection and immune response
in humans, and implicated in the development of melanoma skin cancer. We focus
on the link between eumelanin's secondary structure and optical properties such
as broad band UV-visible absorption and strong non-radiative relaxation; both
key features of the photo-protective function. We emphasise the insights gained
through a holistic approach combining optical spectroscopy with first
principles quantum chemical calculations, and advance the hypothesis that the
robust functionality characteristic of eumelanin is related to extreme chemical
and structural disorder at the secondary level. This inherent disorder is a low
cost natural resource, and it is interesting to speculate as to whether it may

Tolerability of inhaled N-chlorotaurine in the pig model
<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>N-chlorotaurine, a long-lived oxidant produced by human leukocytes, can be applied in human medicine as an endogenous antiseptic. Its antimicrobial activity can be enhanced by ammonium chloride. This study was designed to evaluate the tolerability of inhaled N-chlorotaurine (NCT) in the pig model.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>Anesthetized pigs inhaled test solutions of 1% (55 mM) NCT (n = 7), 5% NCT (n = 6), or 1% NCT plus 1% ammonium chloride (NH<sub>4</sub>Cl) (n = 6), and 0.9% saline solution as a control (n = 7), respectively. Applications with 5 ml each were performed hourly within four hours. Lung function, haemodynamics, and pharmacokinetics were monitored. Bronchial lavage samples for captive bubble surfactometry and lung samples for histology and electron microscopy were removed.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Arterial pressure of oxygen (PaO<sub>2</sub>) decreased significantly over the observation period of 4 hours in all animals. Compared to saline, 1% NCT + 1% NH<sub>4</sub>Cl led to significantly lower PaO<sub>2 </sub>values at the endpoint after 4 hours (62 ± 9.6 mmHg vs. 76 ± 9.2 mmHg, p = 0.014) with a corresponding increase in alveolo-arterial difference of oxygen partial pressure (AaDO<sub>2</sub>) (p = 0.004). Interestingly, AaDO<sub>2 </sub>was lowest with 1% NCT, even lower than with saline (p = 0.016). The increase of pulmonary artery pressure (PAP) over the observation period was smallest with 1% NCT without difference to controls (p = 0.91), and higher with 5% NCT (p = 0.02), and NCT + NH<sub>4</sub>Cl (p = 0.05).</p> <p>Histological and ultrastructural investigations revealed no differences between the test and control groups. The surfactant function remained intact. There was no systemic resorption of NCT detectable, and its local inactivation took place within 30 min. The concentration of NCT tolerated by A549 lung epithelial cells <it>in vitro </it>was similar to that known from other body cells (0.25–0.5 mM).</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>The endogenous antiseptic NCT was well tolerated at a concentration of 1% upon inhalation in the pig model. Addition of ammonium chloride in high concentration provokes a statistically significant impact on blood oxygenation.</p
