Non-minimal Gauge Mediation and Moduli Stabilization
In this paper we consider U(1)-gauged Polony'i model with two spurions
coupled to a twisted closed string modulus. This offers a consistent setup for
metastable SUSY breakdown which allows for moduli stabilization and naturally
leads to gauge or hybrid gauge/gravitational mediation mechanism. Due to the
presence of the second spurion one can arrange for a solution of the \mu and
B_\mu problems in a version of modified Giudice-Masiero mechanism, which works
both in the limit of pure gauge mediation and in the mixed regime of hybrid
mediation.Comment: 12 pages, Discussion extended to include the effects of the gauge

General Gauge Mediation at the Weak Scale
We completely characterize General Gauge Mediation (GGM) at the weak scale by
solving all IR constraints over the full parameter space. This is made possible
through a combination of numerical and analytical methods, based on a set of
algebraic relations among the IR soft masses derived from the GGM boundary
conditions in the UV. We show how tensions between just a few constraints
determine the boundaries of the parameter space: electroweak symmetry breaking
(EWSB), the Higgs mass, slepton tachyons, and left-handed stop/sbottom
tachyons. While these constraints allow the left-handed squarks to be
arbitrarily light, they place strong lower bounds on all of the right-handed
squarks. Meanwhile, light EW superpartners are generic throughout much of the
parameter space. This is especially the case at lower messenger scales, where a
positive threshold correction to coming from light Higgsinos and winos is
essential in order to satisfy the Higgs mass constraint.Comment: 43 pages, 20 figures, mathematica package included in the sourc
On low-energy predictions of unification models inspired by F-theory
The aim of this paper is to discuss phenomenological consequences of a
particular unification model (Z_3 model) inspired by F-theory. The most
distinctive feature of this model is a variety of (cosmologically feasible)
options for the NLSP and NNLSP, beyond the usually considered benchmark
scenarios.Comment: LaTeX, 11 pages, 12 figure
Oat-buckwheat breads - technological quality, staling and sensory properties
The technological and sensory properties and the staling of breads made from oat flour (OF) and buckwheat flour (BF) were analysed. Significant differences in protein and ash content were found in the experimental breads due to significant differences in the composition of the BF and OF used. As the proportion of BF in the recipe increased, a deterioration in the technological properties of the dough and bread as well as an increase in the crumb hardness were observed. The presence of OF in the recipe increased the bread volume, significantly enhanced the lightness of the crust and crumb and improved the overall sensory quality. The OF used in the recipe decreased the starch retrogradation enthalpy value, which is strongly related to a delay in bread staling. The proposed bakery products can be attractive to consumers who are looking for new food products. This research was supported by statutory funding from the Department of Chemistry and Biodynamics of Food of the IAR & FR PAS in Olsztyn, Poland and by a grant from the KNOW Consortium “Healthy Animal – Safe Food”, MS & HE Decision No. 05-1/KNOW2/2015.Peer reviewe
