The Oligocene-Miocene carbonate record of the Zagros Mountains, known as the Asmari Formation, constitutes an important hydrocarbon reservoir in southern Iran. This marine carbonate succession, which developed under tropical conditions, is explored in terms of larger foraminiferal biostratigraphy, facies analysis and sequence stratigraphy in a new section at Papoon cropping out in the western Fars sub‐basin, in the south‐east of the Zagros belt. Facies analysis shows evidence of re‐working and transport of skeletal components throughout the depositional system, interpreted here as a carbonate ramp. The foraminifera‐based biozones identified include the Globigerina-Turborotalia cerroazulensis-Hantkenina Zone and Nummulites vascus-Nummulites fichteli Zone, both of Rupelian age, the Archaias asmaricus-Archaias hensoni-Miogypsinoides complanatus Zone of Chattian age and the 'Indeterminate' Zone of Aquitanian age. The vertical sedimentary evolution of the formation exhibits a progressive shallowing of the facies belts and thus the succession is interpreted as a high‐rank low‐order regressive systems tract. This long‐lasting Rupelian-Aquitanian regressive event is in accordance with accepted global long‐term eustatic curves. Accordingly, long‐term eustatic trends would have been a factor controlling accommodation during the deposition of the Asmari Formation studied in the western Fars sub‐basin

A study was conducted on the impact of aflatoxin (AF) and sodium bentonite, esterified glucomannan and humic acid, on immunization against Newcastle disease (ND) in broiler feed with naturallycontaminated diet with aflatoxin. Seven-day-old chicks were randomly assigned to nine dietary treatments in four replicates of 12 chicks. Treatments were 1) Control; 2) naturally contaminated diet with aflatoxin; 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7) naturally contaminated diet with aflatoxin supplemented with 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0% humic acid, respectively; 8 and 9) naturally contaminated diet supplemented with 0.5% sodium bentonite and 0.1% esterified glucomannan, respectively. The measured aflatoxin incontaminated diet, confirmed by thin layer chromatography (TLC), was 254 ppb. Blood sample was taken from each bird and the titers of antibody against ND were measured by haemagglutinationinhibition test. Compared to the control diet, the antibody titers against ND was significantly (P < 0.01) lower in 254 ppb aflatoxin fed chicks from 28 to 35 days of age. The addition of esterified glucomannan, sodium bentonite and humic acid to the AF-containing diet ameliorated the adverse effects of aflatoxinon ND antibody titers, but humic acid proved to be more effective in the amelioration of the adverse effect of AF on humeral immunity against ND

3D AMR hydrosimulations of a compact source scenario for the Galactic Centre cloud G2

The nature of the gaseous and dusty cloud G2 in the Galactic Centre is still under debate. We present three-dimensional hydrodynamical adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) simulations of G2, modeled as an outflow from a "compact source" moving on the observed orbit. The construction of mock position-velocity (PV) diagrams enables a direct comparison with observations and allow us to conclude that the observational properties of the gaseous component of G2 could be matched by a massive (M˙w=5×107  Myr1\dot{M}_\mathrm{w}=5\times 10^{-7} \;M_{\odot} \mathrm{yr^{-1}}) and slow (50  km  s150 \;\mathrm{km \;s^{-1}}) outflow, as observed for T Tauri stars. In order for this to be true, only the material at larger (>100  AU>100 \;\mathrm{AU}) distances from the source must be actually emitting, otherwise G2 would appear too compact compared to the observed PV diagrams. On the other hand, the presence of a central dusty source might be able to explain the compactness of G2's dust component. In the present scenario, 5-10 years after pericentre the compact source should decouple from the previously ejected material, due to the hydrodynamic interaction of the latter with the surrounding hot and dense atmosphere. In this case, a new outflow should form, ahead of the previous one, which would be the smoking gun evidence for an outflow scenario.Comment: resubmitted to MNRAS after referee report, 16 pages, 11 figure

The Post-Pericenter Evolution of the Galactic Center Source G2

In early 2014 the fast-moving near-infrared source G2 reached its closest approach to the supermassive black hole Sgr A* in the Galactic Center. We report on the evolution of the ionized gaseous component and the dusty component of G2 immediately after this event, revealed by new observations obtained in 2015 and 2016 with the SINFONI integral field spectrograph and the NACO imager at the ESO VLT. The spatially resolved dynamics of the Brγ\gamma line emission can be accounted for by the ballistic motion and tidal shearing of a test-particle cloud that has followed a highly eccentric Keplerian orbit around the black hole for the last 12 years. The non-detection of a drag force or any strong hydrodynamic interaction with the hot gas in the inner accretion zone limits the ambient density to less than a few 103^3 cm3^{-3} at the distance of closest approach (1500 RsR_s), assuming G2 is a spherical cloud moving through a stationary and homogeneous atmosphere. The dust continuum emission is unresolved in L'-band, but stays consistent with the location of the Brγ\gamma emission. The total luminosity of the Brγ\gamma and L' emission has remained constant to within the measurement uncertainty. The nature and origin of G2 are likely related to that of the precursor source G1, since their orbital evolution is similar, though not identical. Both object are also likely related to a trailing tail structure, which is continuously connected to G2 over a large range in position and radial velocity.Comment: 17 pages, 12 figures; accepted for publication in Ap

This paper provides an overview of state-of-The-Art technology and sensor for the inventory of industrial archaeology. As an object of study, a historical copper shaft the Quincy Mine in Michigan State Upper Peninsula was chosen. This shaft was operated for nearly 100 years from 1846 to 1945 and today, what remains of the shaft is a part of the Keweenaw National Historical Park. The main sensor for data acquisition that was used is a 3D camera Matterport. In given research, the results of the above ground scanning using of Matterport are presented. Before scanning a calibration of Matterport camera was performed. The calibration was done by comparison of coordinates of targets determined by FARO Scanner. It was found out that the camera has significant systematic errors which have to be accounted during data processing. Because of the specific data structure of Matterport camera, only the scale factor was calculated and then applied to point clouds. Field works comprised historical and archive data collection and analysis, reconnaissance and scanning of the Quincy Mine interior. As a final result of the research 3D model of the Quincy Mine interior was constructed. Further, this model is going to be used for the Quincy Mine Museum virtual tours. There are many advantages to using Matterport. First of all, such a technology does not need dense geodetic support, average working time at station equals to 2-3 minutes. Cost of Matteroprt equipment is competitive to the cheapest terrestrial laser scanners
