    Pengaruh Penggunaan Internet Terhadap Minat dan Perilaku Belajar Siswa

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan internet terhadap minat belajar biologi siswa, mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan internet terhadap perilaku belajar biologi siswa, dan mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan internet terhadap minat dan perilaku belajar biologi siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode Survey (menggunakan angket). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Penggunaan internet berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat belajar Biologi siswa, dibuktikan dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 0,05 sehingga H1 diterima, yang berarti terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara variabel X terhadap variabel Y1; 2) Penggunaan internet berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku belajar Biologi siswa, dibuktikan dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 0,05 sehingga H1 diterima, yang berarti terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara variabel X terhadap variabel Y2; 3) Penggunaan internet berpengaruh simultan terhadap minat dan  perilaku belajar, dibuktikan dengan nilai simultan yang didapatkan dari hasil uji manova (Multivariate Analysis of Anova) dengan nilai signifikansi rata-rata berada dibawah 0,05

    WhatsApp and Youtube: Buddies for Biology Learning Media During the COVID-19 Pandemic

    This study sought to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of using WhatsApp and YouTube for biology learning media during the COVID-19 pandemic. The data were collected from students in semester 4 of the 2019/2020 academic year who attended biology learning media courses at IAIN Kendari’s Biology Tadris Department. The ex-post facto method was used to interpret the current situation as the result of various factors that occurred previously, then to analyze and determine a solution for the current situation using a SWOT analysis. The finding showed that WhatsApp and YouTube could be used as teaching media in biology courses. While this proved to be an effective method, it became less effective due to an unstable internet network in student areas and high internet quota costs. The SWOT analysis revealed a number of challenges that were quickly addressed by internal (campus) and external (ministries) parties by lowering tuition fees and providing free internet quotas for students and lecturers. Based on this, it is possible to conclude that WhatsApp and YouTube can serve as ‘buddies’ for the COVID-19 pandemic’s biology learning media courses.     Pelatihan Pembuatan & Penggunaan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) Berbasis Literasi Sains Bagi Guru

    This Community Service (CS) activity aims to: 1) interpret the competencies possessed by South Konawe MIN 2 teachers in making Student Worksheets (LKPD) so far; 2) increase the ability of South Konawe MIN 2 teachers in designing scientific literacy-based LKPD; and 3) train MIN 2 South Konawe teachers to apply scientific literacy-based LKPD in learning activities. All MIN 2 South Konawe teachers were the target participants for this PkM, which took place on October 7 and 8, 2023. This PkM uses the Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) method. The results of the PkM show that: 1) South Konawe MIN 2 teachers do not yet have good competence in making LKPD based on scientific literacy, so ongoing training is needed to maximize this competency, as evidenced by the competency in deepening scientific literacy material by 25% and competence in deepening LKPD material. amounting to 41.91%; 2) South Konawe MIN 2 teachers have successfully created scientific literacy-based LKPD through training and mentoring, as evidenced by the link https://bit.ly/ANS1-PkM-Litapdimas-2023; 3) These teachers have successfully implemented scientific literacy-based LKPD in learning activities through training and mentoring, as evidenced by the link https://bit.ly/ANS2-PkM-Litapdimas-2023

    Teaching microbial analysis techniques for the characterisation of baker's yeast through the inquiry-based laboratory

    Laboratory course activities often focus on "cookbook style," so their activities have not yet integrated with scientific thinking as an essential aspect. In this research, the laboratory experience of microbial analysis techniques was redesigned using alternative inquiry to involve students in isolating and characterising yeast to make the bread rise. This research aimed to determine the effect of implementing inquiry-based laboratory experiences on improving students' technical skills and the structure and characteristics of laboratory courses. The method used a single case study to obtain a complete picture regarding implementing laboratory course redesign. Laboratory experience activities consisted of pre-laboratory (reinforcement of theory) and investigation (preparation of methods, laboratory investigation activities, data analysis and presentation, and writing written reports). Overall, our results suggest that inquiry-based laboratory experiences can improve students' microbial analysis technique skills in strong collaboration. In addition, students considered several benefits from this learning, such as developing designs and conducting laboratory investigations close to the original context. With these results, educators can use the redesign of this laboratory course without applying full "course-based undergraduate research experiences" to students
