THE NON-ENGLISH LECTURERS’ READING COMPETENCE IN READING ENGLISH TEXT AT HIGHER EDUCATION IN CENTRAL JAVA
Abstract
Nowadays, the government offers a lot of scholarships to non-English lecturers to study
abroad. However, only a few that could get the scholarship due to their inability to
communicate in English or to comprehend English texts. In this paper, therefore, the writers
want to find out whether or not the non-English lecturers could get some benefits to
comprehend the English texts after being given the manual book developed by the researchers.
Besides, the researchers also want to find out the elements of the text that are easy or difficult to
be understood by them.
The method used in this research was experimental research with the population of non English
lecturers at Kopertis Wilayah VI. One hundred (100) people from several universities in
Central Java were taken as the sample. Two kinds of instrument for collecting the data, namely
reading test and interview were used. Reading test material was taken from the modification of
the TOEFL test with the intention to know the ability of non English lecturers in reading
English texts and which elements of the text are difficult or easy to be mastered by the lecturers.
The interview was used to know the lecturers’ perception on the appropriateness of the manual
book given and whether they got some benefits from it

A THOROUGH STUDY ON A CHILD LEARNING HER FIRST LANGUAGE: A Case Study on a Three-Year Old Child
Abstract ?é?á This paper discusses mainly on?é?á the development of the language acquisition of the three year old child. The object of the study happens to be the writer?óÔé¼Ôäós granddaughter. So he could observe her totally, day by day for three years to see how her?é?á language acquisition developed. He recorded the produced sounds, words and sentences whether they are meaningful or not in order to see how she finally could form?é?á meaningful utterances. The fact that learning a first language needs much energy, time and endless effort; since she was?é?á a baby, the environment (the parents, grandparents, aunts etc) has been trying to stimulate her to talk. The response is astounding; she seems to understand what the adults have been communicating. Gradually, when she is three years old she can produce meaningful words, or utterances that can be understood by the adults and even can be used for communication. ?é?áTherefore, in this paper, the writer will reveal the process of how a child learns her mother tongue and show the progress of the language acquisition starting from the first cry until the ability to produce meaningful utterances. ?é?
Pengaruh Intensitas Pemanfaatan Perpustakaan Dan Media Pembelajaran Terhadap Prestasi Belajar Ips Ekonomi Siswa Kelas Ix Smp Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta Tahun Ajaran 2012/2013
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: 1) Untuk mengetahui pengaruh intensitas pemanfaatan perpustakaan terhadap prestasi belajar siswa kelas IX SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta; 2) Untuk mengetahui pengaruh media pembelajaran terhadap prestasi belajar siswa kelas IX SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta; 3) Untuk mengetahui pengaruh intensitas pemanfaatan perpustakaan dan media pembelajaran secara bersama-sama terhadap prestasi belajar IPS Ekonomi siswa kelas IX SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta.
Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan penarikan kesimpulan melalui analisis statistik. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta tahun ajaran 2012/2013. Sampel diambil sebanyak 108 siswa. Data yang diperlukan diperoleh melalui angket dan dokumentasi. Angket sebelumnya diujicobakan dan diuji validitas serta diuji reliabilitas. Teknik analisis
data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier berganda, uji F, uji t, uji R2, dan sumbangan relatif dan efektif.
Hasil analisis regresi memperoleh persamaan garis regresi: Y = 43,108+ 0,256X1 + 0,243X2. Persamaan menunjukkan bahwa prestasi belajar IPS Ekonomi dipengaruhi oleh intensitas pemanfaatan perpustakaan dan media pembelajaran. Kesimpulan yang diambil adalah: 1) Intensitas pemanfaatan perpustakaan berpengaruh positif terhadapmprestasi belajar IPS Ekonomi siswa kelas IX SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta, dapat diterima. Hal ini berdasarkan analisis regresi linier ganda (uji t) diketahui bahwa thitung > ttabel, yaitu 6,259 > 1,983 dan nilai signifikansi < 0,05, yaitu 0,000 dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 25,2%; 2) Media pembelajaran berpengaruh positif terhadap prestasi
belajar siswa kelas IX SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta, dapat diterima. Hal ini berdasarkan analisis regresi linier ganda (uji t) diketahui bahwa thitung > ttabel, yaitu 4,363 > 1,983 dan nilai signifikansi < 0,05, yaitu 0,000, dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 13%; 3) Intensitas pemanfaatan perpustakaan dan media pembelajaran berpengaruh positif terhadap prestasi belajar siswa kelas IX SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta, dapat
diterima. Hal ini berdasarkan analisis variansi regresi linier ganda (uji F) diketahui bahwa

Dengan koefisien determinasi yang diperoleh sebesar 0,382; 4) Hasil uji koefisien determinasi (R2) sebesar 0,382 menunjukkan bahwa besarnya pengaruh intensitas pemanfaatan perpustakaan dan media pembelajaran terhadap prestasi belajar siswa kelas IX SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta, adalah sebesar 38,2% sedangkan 61,8% sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak ditelit
The Implementation of Internet Website Strategy Of Guidance And Counseling At University In Industrial 4.0 Content
Guidance and counseling are the process of providing assistance to individuals or groups of individuals at every age stage so that the supervisor can understand and direct himself in accordance with the norms and norms that exist in society so that the individual feels happy and effective in his behaviour and builds his welfare. Guidance is a process that provides assistance to individuals or groups of individuals at every age stage. This study was carried out with the goals of developing web-based social media advice, implementing guidance web pages, overcoming obstacles that have been encountered, and developing students' potential. The ADDIE development research technique was used for this study's data analysis, followed by an assessment of the obtained findings. There are 80 students enrolled at a university in North Sumatra, and 12 of those students have contributed to academic mentoring at the institution. Based on the number of students who utilize the internet as a tutoring service, there are 12 students who have contributed. According to the findings of internet-based online media about university assistance, the study sample consists of eighty different students.Key Words: Social Media, Developing ADDI
Analisis Pengaruh Kepuasan Pelanggan terhadap Pelayanan Jasa Penyeberangan PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Cabang Bakauheni.
PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Company Limited) as one of trusted sea transportation service providers of the society is asked to repair and improve the customer's safety and comfort. The problem gap between service which is got by customer and the quality of service which is given must be repaired in order to make the customer get the best service. The success of giving the qualified public service is not only on the success of providing product and service, but also on problem which is more fundamental that is how to satisfy society as the customer. Customer must be satisfied indeed; otherwise they will leave the company and cause decreasing of profit even lost. The problem in this research is whether there is relationship between customer satisfaction toward PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Company Limited) transportation service at Branch of Bakauheni, the objective of this research is to know whether there is relationship customer satisfaction with PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Company Limited) transportation service at Branch of Bakauheni and to know how much customer satisfaction influences the service provided by PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Company Limited) at branch of Bakauheni. Qualitative analysis is toward every indicator, the result is got from all customer satisfaction level indicators which are on dissatisfaction category, also for all transportation service scoring indicators which is on bad category. The conclusion of this research is there is positive relationship which is insignificant between transportation customer satisfaction with transportation service which is shown by correlation coefficient, 0.1456, that is why the relationship includes very low category. It is between 0.00 – 0.199, and contribution (influence) of customer satisfaction (X) toward transportation service (Y) = KP = (0.1456)2 x 100% = 2.12 %, means transportation service is determined by customer satisfaction, 2.12%. the implication which must be paid attention and done by company to improve customer number is PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Company Limited) at Branch of Bakauheni should understand customer need of good service. Moreover, company must repair the customer service also the facility which is on port and ferry, since customer is very important factor in a company, also improve the quality of transportation service, and the leader of PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Company Limited) at Branch of Bakauheni needs to listen to his employee in process of taking the policy, in order to make policy which is able to be implemented and get support from his own employee

Arah Kebijakan Pemanfaatan dan Penyaluran Dana Pendidikan pada Era Otonomi Daerah
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) arah kebijakan pengalokasian dan pemanfaatan sumber dana pendidikan, dan (2) model penyaluran dana pendidikan dari pemerintah pusat ke sekolah pada era otonomi daerah. Artikel ini dikembangkan dengan menggunakan studi literatur. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) arah kebijakan Pengalokasian dan Pemanfaatan Sumber Dana Pendidikan masih perlu disempurnakan berkaitan dengan besaran dana yang diarahkan untuk memenuhi amanat UU No. 20 Tahun 2003 yakni sebesar 20% dari anggaran APBN dan APBD di luar gaji pegawai dan pendidikan kedinasan, dan (2) secara umum, model penyaluran dana pendidikan dari pemerintah pusat berupa dana block grant, dekonsentrasi (termasuk BOS/BKM), dana dari Depag, APBD Provinsi dan APBD Kota/Kabupaten, masih layak diterapkan untuk penyaluran dana pendidikan di sekolah dengan beberapa pembenahan, terutama dalam pemberdayaan Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi dan Dinas Pendidikan Kota/Kabupaten dalam ikut serta sebagai Pembina dan pengontrol pelaksanaan progam sekolah.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) arah kebijakan pengalokasian dan pemanfaatan sumber dana pendidikan, dan (2) model penyaluran dana pendidikan dari pemerintah pusat ke sekolah pada era otonomi daerah. Pembelajaran Pendidikan Islam dalam Meningkatkan Keterampilan Ibadah Praktis
Abstrak Pembelajaran pendidikan Agama Islam di Perguruan Tinggi Muhammadiyah merupakan mata kuliah wajib kurikulum, demikian juga di Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram diwajibkan kepada semua program studi. Salah satu materi yang diajarkan adalah praktik ibadah praktis yang tergabung dalam mata kuliah Pendidikan Islam II (Kuliah Ibadah), yang membahas teori dan praktik ibadah praktis seperti taharah, berwudu, mandi junub, tayamum, teori dan praktik salat, tayamum dan ibadah praktis lainnya. Penelitian ini hanya mencakup ibadah praktis yang berhubungan dengan salat saja. Praktik ibadah salat masih menjadi persoalan bagi mahasiswa, ternyata mahasiswa belum semuanya bisa melaksanakan ibadah salat sebagaimana yang dicontohkan dalam sumber-sumber kitab yang masyhur, namun dalam penilaian praktik ibadah salat ini di jadikan panduan dalam Buku kuliah Ibadah yang diterbitkan oleh LP3IK Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram Cetakan kelima tahun 2023. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengidentifikasi kemampuan mahasiswa yang selanjutnya akan dilakukan asesmen selama masa perkuliahan semester 2 program studi pendidikan kewarganegaraan FKIP UMMAT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase nilai pre tes dan pos tes menunjukkan bahwa “katagori Sangat baik mengalami kenaikan dari 16% menjadi 24%, katagori Cukup baik dari 32% meningkat menjadi 40%, katagori Baik dari 20% menjadi 28%, sedangkan katagori kurang bisa di tekan dari 32% menjadi hanya 8%. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan persentase keterampilan ibadah praktis yang menunjukkan kemampuan afektif atau keterampilan mahasiswa setelah mengalami proses pembelajaran pendidikan Islam (Ibadah Praktis) pada semester 2 program studi Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram tahun akademik 2023-2024.Kata kunci : Pendidikan Islam, Ibadah Prakti
Fiscal Decentralization and Poverty in Papua Province
In Papua province, fiscal decentralization policy had a positive impact on the potential development and regional government creativity. The effectiveness in managing regional wealth will affect to the regional revenue which can further determine the effect of fiscal decentralization and economic growth to improve on poverty. The method used is multiple linear regression analysis technique. The results showed simultaneous fiscal decentralization and economic growth has a significant effect on poverty. In partial result, the negative fiscal decentralization variable and significant fiscal decentralization on poverty means there is decreased percentage in the number of the poor people
