Metáfora y metonimia conceptual en la fraseología de cinco partes del cuerpo humano en español y polaco

El presente artículo aborda el estudio contrastivo de las unidades fraseológicas con denominaciones del cuerpo humano en español y el polaco. A partir de una selección de cinco términos referentes al cuerpo humano: la boca, la cara, la mano, el ojo y el pie, se ofrece una propuesta de clasificación en el marco teórico-práctico de la Teoría de la Metáfora Conceptual. Con ello se pretende contribuir a aclarar la cuestión de la motivación y la idiomaticidad, de algunas unidades fraseológicas, a la vez que se apuntan posibles aplicaciones del enfoque en la traducción.The present article deals with a comparative study of Spanish and Polish phraseological units which contain a human body word. A classification proposal in the frame of Conceptual Metaphor Theory is offered from five human body words: mouth, face, hand, eye and foot as part of idioms. The EU’s new Arctic Communication: not-so-integrated, not-so-disappointing?

The new Joint Communication on “An integrated European Union policy for the Arctic” was published on 27 April 2016. The document generally follows the lines drawn in previous EU Arctic policy statements: climate and environment, sustainability and regional cooperation. However, the policy update also shows evolution of the EU’s understanding of its place in the changing Arctic economic, environmental and political landscape. The Communication does not deliver on the promise included in its title, namely that it proposes to establish a truly “integrated EU Arctic policy”. The EU Arctic policy encompasses too many diverse issues – both internal and external – and it is too marginal for the EU in order to realistically aim for the envisaged integration that is linking different sectors together.publishedVersio

Data-driven Subnational Decision-making in the Arctic:the power of indigenous voices and data supporting the green transition

This Policy Paper summarizes the main outputs and preliminary findings of the Arctic PASSION project’s work related to enhancing evidence-based decision-making at the local and regional level in the Arctic, with respect to two themes:1) the state of inclusion of Indigenous knowledge in sub-national decision-making (including the patterns of interactions between Indigenous Peoples and local/regional policymakers); and2) data availability, needs and gaps with respect to managing and planning the green transition.The two topics are part of a selection of themes that interest local and regional governments and Arctic PASSION researchers

Bóle głowy związane ze zmianą ciśnienia śródczaszkowego

Bóle głowy spowodowane zmianami ciśnienia śródczaszkowego są często spotykane w praktyce klinicznej. Najczęściej wiążą się ze wzrostem ciśnienia płynu mózgowo-rdzeniowego w przebiegu procesów patologicznych zlokalizowanych w obrębie czaszki. Rzadziej obserwuje się ból głowy związany z obniżeniem ciśnienia płynu mózgowo-rdzeniowego. W takich przypadkach najczęstszą przyczyną jest pobranie płynu w celach diagnostycznych lub po zabiegach chirurgicznych. Niejednokrotnie nie udaje się stwierdzić przyczyny wzrostu czy też zmniejszenia się ciśnienia płynu mózgowo-rdzeniowego. Przypadki takie, określane jako idiopatyczne, pozostają trudnym problemem klinicznym, zarówno z uwagi na żmudną diagnostykę różnicową, jak i oporność terapeutyczną.
