A Thought about crisis and critique: contemporary approaches of dialectic plasticity
This article reflects on the category of plasticity in Catherine
Malabou, from the semantic and etymological relationship crisis /
criticism. On one hand, it will be analyzed how that articulation
allows us to investigate the formation of subjective consciousness,
particularly in the figure of the hapless conscience where the
skeptical moment is located as well as its examination status,
understood by Hegel. On the other hand, taking the reflections
on the psychoanalytic thought developed by Malabou, it will be
proposed to articulate the notion of plasticity, dialectic and the
binary crisis / critical to think of the contemporary subjective
form. In summary, the work of Catherine Malabou is analyzed
in the light of a way of thinking a critical way but, not only
from the tearing of the skeptical moment of consciousness,
but also from the negative work of self-destruction to plasticity
and how this way of thinking allows to address the symptom
of the current crisis.http://revistahumanidades.unab.cl//wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Lorena-Souyris-Para-un-pensamiento-de-la-crisis-y-de-la-cri%CC%81tica-aproximaciones-contempora%CC%81neas-de-la-plasticidad-diale%CC%81ctica.pd
WCET Computation of Safety-Critical Avionics Programs: Challenges, Achievements and Perspectives
Time-critical avionics software products must compute their output in due time. If it is not the case, the safety of the avionics systems to which they belong might be affected. Consequently, the Worst Case Excution Time of the tasks of such programs must be computed safely, i.e., they must not be under-estimated. Since computing the exact WCET of a real-size software product task is not possible (undecidability), "safe WCET" means over-estimated WCET. Here we have an industrial issue in the sense that too over-estimating the WCET leads to a waste of CPU power. Hence, the computation a safe and precise WCET is the big challenge. Solutions to that problem cannot only rely on the technique for computing the WCET. Indeed, both hardware and software must be designed to be as deterministic as possible. For its Flight controls software products, Airbus has always been applying these principles but, since the A380, the use of more complex processors required to move from a technique based on measurements to a new one based on static analysis by Abstract Interpretation. Another kind of avionics applications are the so-called High-performance avionics software products, which are significantly less affected by - rare - delays in the computation of their outputs. In this case, the need for a "safe WCET" is less strong, hence opening the door to different other ways of computing it. In this context, the aim of the talk is to present the challenge of computing WCET in Airbus\u27s industrial context, the achievements in this field and the evocation of some trends and perspectives

Models to predict and influence consumer demand : applications to television advertising and solar panel adoption
This dissertation consists of two independent essays that share the common goal of predicting and influencing consumer demand: (i) Scheduling Advertising on Television; and (ii) Peer Effects in the Diffusion of Solar Panels: A Dynamic Discrete Choice Approach. These essays are data-driven problems of operations and management science, which we address using optimization and econometrics.Information, Risk, and Operations Management (IROM
It contributes to the understanding of cracking phenomena occurrences induced by shrinkage. Indeed, for special structures (specifically massive structures at early age), current engineering formulae are not efficient to predict the cracking risk. Specially cracking due to shrinkage induced by hydration phenomena (increase of temperature and autogeneous shrinkage) is under-evaluated. The aim of this work is to provide appropriate tools, based on the mix composition, to estimates cracking risk due to autogenous shrinkage. To reach this objective, the evolution of the microstructure of the material is considered by homogenization. This theory is used to evaluate the poro-elastic properties of the material. Moreover a sorption isotherm model enables the calculation of the capillary pressure. Finally, partially saturated poromechanics equation allows reaching autogenous shrinkage. This study takes place in national projects CEOS.fr and Mefisto

According to Jacques Derrida, a violence has been inscribed at the origin of the philosophical tradition that has testified to the way in which an invention law has been produced, communicated and institutionalized. This has revealed an undeniable appreciation for an iterative type of “invention” of the same thing that clouds the possibility of considering “invention” under the German word Gefunden, which moves away from the “production” of something. As Derrida indicates, the philosophical heritage has already submitted, in its “founder” moment, the questioning – that is, the “concern” (Unruhe) of “searching” (Gefunden) – to a triple legislation: ontological, political and linguistic. How to shake this legislation to rethink an original violence (Urgrund) in which a force (Kraft) mobilizes the Gefunden registered as pre-judgment?
For a «Feminist Operation»: Revolt on the Limits of Colonial Efficiency
This article seeks to propose the notion of revolt as a category of analysis to examine the
feminist movement that occurred in May 2018 in Chile. In this sense, from this notion,
it will be asked how the colonial efficiency, inscribed in the hetero/racial and oppressive
memory of Latin America, can be interrupted by a “feminist operation” evidencing the
intersections between power, language, violence and domination. All this to try to show
that this has implied the norms in the institutions and that they have been applied at the
level of the discourse, the representations and their practices in differents political/cultural
and institutional spheres in Chile. To this end, the voices of Chilean women activists of
the revolt will be taken to address the issue: how the revolt, as a feminist action to disrupt
the patriarchal order, can lift up a practice of emancipation

Verifying the Safety of a Flight-Critical System
This paper describes our work on demonstrating verification technologies on a
flight-critical system of realistic functionality, size, and complexity. Our
work targeted a commercial aircraft control system named Transport Class Model
(TCM), and involved several stages: formalizing and disambiguating requirements
in collaboration with do- main experts; processing models for their use by
formal verification tools; applying compositional techniques at the
architectural and component level to scale verification. Performed in the
context of a major NASA milestone, this study of formal verification in
practice is one of the most challenging that our group has performed, and it
took several person months to complete it. This paper describes the methodology
that we followed and the lessons that we learned.Comment: 17 pages, 5 figure
