Behavioural, cognitive and electrophysiological effects of prenatal hypoxia in adult rats were investigated. Prenatal hypoxia was provided by the subcutaneous injection of water solution of sodium nitrite at concentrations of 50 mg/kg of the body mass on 13-14, 18-19 or 10-19 days of gestation. Behaviour, cognitive abilities and bioelectrical activity of the brain with visual and auditory evoked potentials were evaluated. Correlation interrelations between the behaviour and EEG components of rats are revealed. It was shown that prenatal nitrite intoxication in the second half of the pregnancy period and on the embryonic day 13-14 has more pronounced effects on the CNS

    Intermodal Transportation of Dangerous Goods

    Get PDF
In the past 40 years the intermodal transportation has dramatically increased and this trend will continue much faster in the 21st century. Nowadays, the intermodal transportation presents the backbone of world trade. The efficiency of distribution processes is improved by integrating different modes and services of transport. Shippers, who generate the demand for transportations, carriers who supply the transportation services for the demand and also intermodal network determine the performance of the system. Transportation of dangerous goods also reaches upward trend. However, the dangerous transportations have negative effects on the environment and, if an accident occurs, can cause injuries or death. This threat presents very important reason for focusing on improving the security and efficiency for dangerous transports and avoiding of potential accidents

Performed studies showed an actual dosed aerogenic load of microorganisms-producers of a fodder-protein on the organisms of workers of two enterprises of microbiological industry. A quantitative value of air pollution levels of a working zone allowed to reveal the dependence of a production-induced morbidity, mico-carrying and a specific resistance of organism to a dosed load of microorganism-producers. The following levels of risk were identified: minimum when the actual dosed load does doesn't exceed the limits of the normative; increased when the actual dosed load exceeds the normative up to 6,5 times; high when the ratio of the excess is more than 6,5 times. The frequency of detection of criteria significant indices of prenosological diagnostics (combination of mico-carrying with positive results of allergotests) in the zone of minimal risk gradually grows and. is insignificant at the same time. While the dosed load is growing the number of working with a combination of these symptoms increases too. In the zone of high risk there is a sharp rise of frequency of detection of indices, that are the criteria of prenosological diagnostics of professional risk. The proposed criteria of risk of the development of vocational and production-induced pathology will allow occupational pathologists and. craft physicians to link the resulting violations in the health status of employees with an action of professional microbial factor even in the absence of the maximum allowable concentration of microorganisms-producers in the air of industrial premises. A safe level of exposure to microorganism-producers of a fodder protein cannon be recommended on this stage of the study, because even a minimal dosed load would lead to forming myco-carrying, specific alterations of an immune system and. higher levels of production-induced morbidity. While analyzing the results of the conducted. work we can conclude that the concept of limen concentration at the regulation of maximum allowable concentration for relatively-pathogenic microorganisms-producers needs to be clarified and. its possible adjustment and. dosed load of microorganisms-producers of the positions dose-spectacular dependencies requires more cautious approach to the evaluation for the enterprises of biotechnological synthesis

Coherent radiation of atoms and a channeling particle

New mechanism of radiation emitted at channeling of a relativistic particle in a crystal is studied. Superposition of coherent radiation of the atoms in a crystal lattice which are excited by a channeling particle and radiation of the channeling particle itself is considered. It is shown that coherent radiation of the chain of oscillating atoms forms a resonance peak on the background of radiation of the channeling particle.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figure

DESIGN OF AGENT-BASED MODEL FOR BARGE CONTAINER TRANSPORT

    Get PDF
The increasing importance of intermodal transport in Europe requires an alternative way of designing new logistics solutions to ensure sustainable development, mobility and, in particular, optimal transport costs. The aim of the paper is to design a model for connecting inland navigation into the European intermodal transport system. The paper presents a proposal for the agent-based simulation of container barge navigation on TEN-T (Trans-European Transport Network) corridor Rhine – Danube. A theoretical basis in the field of network design and simulation is also presented

SUPPORT OF POTENTIAL OF INLAND WATERWAY TRANSPORT

Potenciál európskych riek sa v súčasnosti využíva nedostatočne. Kompetentné orgány EÚ si kladú za cieľ zvyšovať potenciál vodných ciest a podporovať vnútrozemskú plavbu ako ekologický druh dopravy. Podporné programy EÚ zvyšujú povedomie o vodnej doprave, jej využitie a príspevok k dopravnej politike EÚ. Zaistením transparentnosti pri rozdeľovaní kompetencií na medzinárodnej úrovni a zavedením účinných finančných stimulov je možné zlepšiť celkové riadenie a podporiť rozvoj vnútrozemskej vodnej dopravy v rámci EÚ.The potential of European rivers is currently under-utilized. The EU competent authorities aim to increase the potential of waterways and promote inland navigation as an environmentally friendly mode of transport. EU support programs raise awareness of water use, its use and contribution to EU transport policy. By ensuring transparency in the allocation of competences at international level and by introducing effective financial incentives, it is possible to improve overall governance and support the development of inland waterway transport within the EU

The article presents the results of the examination, of albino rats in the test of extrapolation deliverance (TED) after sublimate intoxication, and madopar-125 injection with previous sublimate intoxication. The aim. of the work was comparative study of conduct of albino rats with sublimate intoxication and at the influence of ma-dopar-125 in combination with sublimate intoxication, in TED. We used TED method in the research that allows to study cognitive abilities of an animal in stress situation. The results were processed with, software package Statistica 6.0 with use of non-parametric Mann — Whitney parameter. Sublimate was introduced subcutaneously in form, of physiological solution in dose 2 mg/kg during 3 days. In 3 days after ending of sublimate explosion we introduced, physiological solution to the rats of the first group 60 minutes before testing and. the rats of the second, group had intraperitoneal introduction, of madopar-125 that was suspended in 0,9 % NaCl with 125 mg/ kg tween-80 in dose 0,6 ml/100 g of animal's body weight. Animals of control group had physiological solution in the same regimen. It was revealed that in 4 days after the ending of sublimate introduction to albino rats experimental animals in comparison with intact ones had significant increase of number of aversive reactions. After sublimate explosion almost one third of albino rats didn't dive under cylinder's edge. In experimental rats average and total duration of immobilization increased while average duration of clambering on cylinder's walls decreased. Latent period of first movement increased sharply both after toxic influence and after introduction of madopar-125 to the rats with sublimate intoxication in comparison with control animals. Introduction of madopar-125 to the rats with sublimate intoxication completely disturbed conduct of deliverance: no animals dove under cylinder's edge. Albino rats with madopar-125 introduction had significant increase of clambering on cylinder's walls in comparison with animals exposed by sublimate without madopar-125 introduction. Besides the number, average and total duration of aversive reactions in form of jumps in comparison, with control group and with rats after sublimate explosion without pharmacological influence significantly increased
