Estenosis laringotraqueal revisión de casos en el Centro Médico Imbanaco de Cali

El manejo de la estenosis laringotraqueal continúa siendo un problema difícil para el otorrinolaringólogo por la multiplicidad de hallazgos en los pacientes, su manejo complejo y la falta de un tratamiento único. En el Centro Médico Imbanaco de Cali, Colombia, se realizó un análisis retrospectivo de una serie de pacientes con este diagnóstico tratados entre octubre de 2006 y enero de 2011. Se examinaron los antecedentes, síntomas y signos, tratamientos, enfermedades asociadas, resultados del tratamiento y seguimiento en el tiempo. Se identificaronun total de 44 adultos, con edad promedio de 41,4 años; 24 (55%) eran mujeres y 20 hombres. El promedio de seguimiento fue 19 meses; 28 (63,6%) pacientes mejoraron con el empleo de tratamiento endoscópico y láser de CO2. Los mejores resultados se obtuvieron en el Grupo I (100%) y en el Grupo II (83.3%). La cirugía endoscópica láser,es un tratamiento válido para lesiones delgadas, no complicadas. El uso de técnicas de resección y reconstrucción laringotraqueal es útil en las lesiones complejas y gruesas donde falla el tratamiento endoscópico. No obstante, en casos seleccionados, el tratamiento endoscópico se debe considerar inicialmente. Otras ventajas del tratamiento endoscópico son; pocas complicaciones, baja morbilidad, tiempo quirúrgico y de hospitalización cortos

La prueba de oficio en el procedimiento penal en Colombia

Como afecta al modelo de enjuiciamiento penal acusatorio regulado por la ley 906 de 2004 en Colombia, y a la búsqueda de la verdad, la posibilidad restringida de los jueces para decretar pruebas de oficio. La prueba de oficio está proscrita de acuerdo al art. 361de la ley 906 de 2004, especialmente en la etapa del juicio, ello puede constituir un avance en el desarrollo de la filosofía del sistema penal con tendencia acusatorio, como quiera que el sistema es adversarial, y si el juez interviene decretando pruebas, implicaría un desequilibrio de las partes, por ello se puede afirmar que la permisión en la etapa preliminar es un retroceso, en tanto en otros países, y muchos doctrinantes consideran, que este poder-límite, debe circunscribirse ala filosofía del sistema acusatorio

Colopexia a través de celiotomía como tratamiento del prolapso rectal recidivante en gatos

The case of two cats with recurrent rectal prolapse is presented; 3- and 5-month-old male and female, respectively. The clinical examination revealed two patients with body condition 2/5, pale mucous membranes, dehydration and a prolapse of approximately 6 cm of the rectum with the presence of housefly larval structures. The tutor reports that a month before the consultation, the cats were rescued and underwent digital reduction with suture in the anus as a corrective measure for a first rectal prolapse that recurred fifteen days after said intervention. As an urgent corrective measure, and after stabilizing the patients, a colopexy was performed through celiotomy, using polyglactin 910 for this purpose. There were no intraoperative and postoperative complications. During 12 months after colopexy, there was no recurrence of prolapse in any of the patients.Se presenta el caso de dos gatos con prolapso rectal recidivante; macho y hembra de 3 y 5 meses de edad, respectivamente. En la exploración clínica se evidenció dos pacientes con condición corporal 2/5, mucosas pálidas, deshidratación y prolapso de aproximadamente 6 cm de recto con presencia de estructuras larvarias de mosca doméstica. El tutor refiere que un mes atrás a la consulta, los gatos fueron rescatados y se les practicó reducción digital con sutura en ano como medida correctiva de un primer prolapso rectal que recidivó transcurridos quince días de dicha intervención. Como medida correctiva urgente, y previa estabilización de los pacientes, se practicó colopexia a través de celiotomía empleando para tal fin poliglactina 910. No se presentaron complicaciones intra y posoperatorias. Durante 12 meses ulteriores a la colopexia no hubo recidiva del prolapso en ninguno de los pacientes

TENDENCIAS INVESTIGATIVAS EN EL DESARROLLO DE PRODUCTOS MECATRONICOS EN LA ACTUALIDAD (RESEARCH TRENDS IN THE MECHATRONIC PRODUCTS DEVELOPMENT CURRENTLY)

Resumen La mecatrónica es un campo interdisciplinario de ciencias de la ingeniería caracterizado por la integración e interconexión entre la ingeniería mecánica, la ingeniería eléctrica y la informática. Los productos mecatrónicos son en su mayoría estructuralmente complejos, pero son una solución óptima para muchos campos de la Industria como la medicina, la agricultura, la agroindustria entre otros. Este artículo tiene como objetivo principal identificar las tendencias investigativas en los proyectos mecatrónicos NPD en la actualidad. Para ello se hace una revisión bibliográfica, citando trabajos importantes en el área a partir del año 2017 y abordando el objetivo principal de cada investigación, para así agruparlas en enfoques e identificar las tendencias investigativas actualmente. Al final se puede concluir que la tendencia es reducir el costo total en un producto mecatrónico, así como de comenzar a adaptar los conceptos de las nuevas tecnologías de la Industria 4.0 (I4.0) a los proyectos de desarrollo de nuevos productos mecatrónicos (NPD). Abstract Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary field of engineering sciences characterized by the integration and interconnection between mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science. Mechatronic products are mostly structurally complex, but they are an optimal solution for many fields of Industry such as medicine, agriculture, agroindustry among others. The main objective of this paper is to identify research trends in the development of mechatronics products today. To meet this objective, a bibliographic review is made, citing important works in the area from 2017 on and addressing the main objective of each investigation in order to group them into approaches and identify current investigative trends. In the end, it can be concluded that the trend is to reduce the total cost of a mechatronic product, as well as to begin to adapt the concepts of the new technologies of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) to mechatronic NPD (new project development) projects. Propuesta estratégica de mejora en la implementación de los estándares mínimos del Sistema de Gestión de la Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo (SG-SST) en la empresa Castilla Cosecha S.A: para el año 2020

El presente trabajo nos da oportunidad de exponer la investigación realizada a la empresa Castilla Cosecha S.A., conocer como ha venido implementando los cambios necesarios para complementar un Sistema de Gestión de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo, acorde con la normatividad vigente, como por ejemplo la resolución 0312 del 13 de febrero del 2019, en aras de observar en qué estado se encuentra actualmente la empresa en cuanto al cumplimiento de esta norma y otras que la anteceden, con el propósito de mejorar los estándares mínimos de SG-SST para dar cumplimiento a esta resolución.This work gives us the opportunity to present the research carried out to the company Castilla Cosecha SA, to learn how it has been implementing the necessary changes to complement a Management System for Safety and Health at Work, in accordance with current regulations, such as the Resolution 0312 of February 13, 2019, in order to observe what state the company is currently in regarding compliance with this standard and others that precede it, in order to improve the minimum standards of SG-SST to comply with this resolution

El proyecto que busca implementar el Plan Estratégico en la Empresa Aguja Dorada se centra en tres dimensiones claves: económica, social y ambiental. PROF-XXI: Teaching and Learning Centers to Support the 21st Century Professor

PROF-XXI is a European-funded project whose aim is the creation of Teaching and Learning Centers (TLCs) for Latin American Higher Institutions in an effort to promote the development of competences for university professors and foster teaching innovation in onsite, but also in online and hybrid education. PROF-XXI includes a partnership of seven higher education institutions, three from European countries (Spain, France, and Portugal), and four from Latin American countries (two from Guatemala, and two from Colombia). This article presents the main results of the first part of the project, including the diagnosis of institutional practices, the state of the art of TLCs around the world, the framework on 21st century professors in Latin America, and the PROF-XXI framework

Implementación de servicios en nethserver

El propósito de este documento es presentar la instalación y configuración de NethServer como medida técnica para avanzar hacia la plataforma de administración de infraestructura de tecnologías de la información. A través de esta implementación, se busca proporcionar soluciones integrales para cada una de las temáticas planteadas, teniendo en cuenta los aspectos relacionados con el funcionamiento de DHCP, DNS, controlador de dominio, proxy, cortafuegos, file server y print server, así como los servicios VPN. En última instancia, el objetivo principal de esta actividad es implementar con éxito, bajo el entorno GNU/Linux, una infraestructura técnica capaz de cumplir con las necesidades particulares del cliente.The purpose of this document is to present the installation and configuration of NethServer as a technical measure to advance towards the information technology infrastructure management platform. Through this implementation, we seek to provide comprehensive solutions for each of the issues raised, taking into account the aspects related to the operation of DHCP, DNS, domain controller, proxy, firewall, file server and Print server, as well as the VPN services. Farmscape composition and livelihood sustainability in deforested landscapes of Colombian Amazonia

In this article, we operationalized a sustainability framing based on the Sustainable Rural Livelihood Resources Framework (SLF), which consists of five capitals—human, physical, social, financial, and natural. We proposed a sustainability index (SI) for two landscapes dominated by two agricultural systems: cattle ranching and small-scale family agriculture. Farm variables within each capital were analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis. Key variables were identified and index values were calculated for each capital. These were combined through a set of simultaneous equations to estimate farm-specific capitals and SI from the observed farm variables. Principal component and cluster analyses were used to group the farms according to their index scores and to further compare their characteristics. Furthermore, with the purpose of comparing the index scoring with an independent metric, a landscape indicator, which comes from a continuous forest, was calculated. From the results, the capitals that contributed to a higher SI score the most were financial and physical. As cattle ranching was associated with higher economic returns and infrastructure investments, this livelihood was identified as the most sustainable. Yet, cattle ranching has been a deforestation driver in the region. These results are attributed to the current conceptual framework design, which gives greater weight to material and economic variables; therefore, it generates a weak sustainability measure. Although the framework allowed us to identify land-use alternatives that could improve SI scores (i.e., silvopastoral systems), corrections to the proposed framework and methodological approach will need to include additional environmental benefits currently unaccounted for. Farmers that use their farms for conservation purposes should be recognized and compensated. An improved environmentally focused SI operational framework could help to endorse and promote sustainable livelihoods and to generate a strong sustainability measure
