The quality of gosling meat depending on the level of lithium in mixed fodders
Micronutrients are an important component of a complete poultry feeding. Current detailed feeding standards provide guaranteed feed additives for farm poultry of the microelement complex. Among the normalized microelements there is no lithium, which according to the classification based on biological role for living organisms belongs to the group of conditionally essential elements. The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of various doses of lithium in compound feed on the chemical composition and toxicological and biological parameters of caterpillar meat. The effect of additives of different doses of lithium (0.05 mg/kg, 0.10 and 0.15 mg/kg) in compound forages on the quality and safety of the products of slaughter of 70-day gosling was studied. The studies were conducted on gosling of the Legart breed. Feeding of gosling from day to 70 days of age was carried out by full-feed compound feeds. The birds of the experimental groups were additionally injected with lithium in the feed, mg/kg: the second group was 0.05; third – 0.10 and fourth – 0.15. The gosling of the control group did not receive lithium. Analysis of the results of the studies revealed differences between the control and experimental groups in the chemical composition of the muscular tissue of the gosling in favor of the latter. It was found that the introduction of lithium compound feed had a positive effect on the deposition of dry matter, protein and fat in the gosling of the experimental groups, which contributed to its increased energy and biological value. The best indicators of meat quality were in young animals, which during the growing period were fed compound feeds enriched with lithium at the rate of 0.1 and 0.15 mg/kg
How do methanol masers manage to appear in the youngest star vicinities and isolated molecular clumps?
General characteristics of methanol (CH3OH) maser emission are summarized. It
is shown that methanol maser sources are concentrated in the spiral arms. Most
of the methanol maser sources from the Perseus arm are associated with embedded
stellar clusters and a considerable portion is situated close to compact HII
regions. Almost 1/3 of the Perseus Arm sources lie at the edges of optically
identified HII regions which means that massive star formation in the Perseus
Arm is to a great extent triggered by local phenomena. A multiline analysis of
the methanol masers allows us to determine the physical parameters in the
regions of maser formation. Maser modelling shows that class II methanol masers
can be pumped by the radiation of the warm dust as well as by free-free
emission of a hypercompact region hcHII with a turnover frequency exceeding 100
GHz. Methanol masers of both classes can reside in the vicinity of hcHIIs.
Modelling shows that periodic changes of maser fluxes can be reproduced by
variations of the dust temperature by a few percent which may be caused by
variations in the brightness of the central young stellar object reflecting the
character of the accretion process. Sensitive observations have shown that the
masers with low flux densities can still have considerable amplification
factors. The analysis of class I maser surveys allows us to identify four

Molecular gas in high-mass filament WB673
We studied the distribution of dense gas in a filamentary molecular cloud
containing several dense clumps. The center of the filament is given by the
dense clump WB673. The clumps are high-mass and intermediate-mass star-forming
regions. We observed CS(2-1), 13CO(1-0), C18O(1-0) and methanol lines at 96GHz
toward WB673 with the Onsala Space Observatory 20-m telescope. We found CS(2-1)
emission in the inter-clump medium so the clumps are physically connected and
the whole cloud is indeed a filament. Its total mass is M and
mass-to-length ratio is 360 Mpc from 13CO(1-0) data.
Mass-to-length ratio for the dense gas is Mpc from
CS(2-1) data. The PV-diagram of the filament is V-shaped. We estimated physical
conditions in the molecular gas using methanol lines. Location of the filament
on the sky between extended shells suggests that it could be a good example to
test theoretical models of formation of the filaments via multiple compression
of interstellar gas by supersonic waves

products with lithium and peculiarities of its depositing in the organs and
tissues of goslings concerning lithium level in the mixed feed.
Experimental studies have been conducted on the goose breed Legart. 320
one-day-old goslings were divided on the principle of analogues into four
groups, 80 heads each. The goslings of the first control group did not
receive the lithium supplement with the feed mix. Experimental groups
were fed with the feed where additionally was supplemented with different
doses of lithium by the scheme of the experiment. After 70 days of rearing,
three birds were randomly selected from each group and control
slaughtered. The lithium content in the representative samples of muscle
tissue and organs of goslings was determined by inductively coupled
plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). It was established that
feeding the growing goslings with mixed feed containing lithium
supplements in doses of 0.05, 0.10 and 0.15 mg kg–1, contributed to the
increase (P <0.001) of the concentration of this trace element in the
muscles of the thigh and drumstick 789.5, 1589.5 and 3447.4%, in the
muscles of the breast 1096.8, 2080.6 and 3948.4%, liver are 455.4, 824.6
and 1440.8% respectively, compared to goslings that did not receive
lithium supplements. Significant high values of lithium accumulation
factors in organs and tissues of gosling (3.21–14.44) indicated that this
element has a substantial accumulating capacity. The meat of goslings
enriched with lithium can be considered a natural product with bio-
corrective action that can be used in human nutrition. These meat products
can be particularly useful for people that are living in regions with a low
environmental level of lithium
Incommensurate antiferromagnetic fluctuations in single-crystalline LiFeAs studied by inelastic neutron scattering
We present an inelastic neutron scattering study on single-crystalline LiFeAs
devoted to the characterization of the incommensurate antiferromagnetic
fluctuations at . Time-of-flight
measurements show the presence of these magnetic fluctuations up to an energy
transfer of 60 meV, while polarized neutrons in combination with longitudinal
polarization analysis on a triple-axis spectrometer prove the pure magnetic
origin of this signal. The normalization of the magnetic scattering to an
absolute scale yields that magnetic fluctuations in LiFeAs are by a factor
eight weaker than the resonance signal in nearly optimally Co-doped
BaFeAs, although a factor two is recovered due to the split peaks owing
to the incommensurability. The longitudinal polarization analysis indicates
weak spin space anisotropy with slightly stronger out-of-plane component
between 6 and 12 meV. Furthermore, our data suggest a fine structure of the
magnetic signal most likely arising from superposing nesting vectors.Comment: 9 pages, 8 figure
First Interferometric Images of the 36 GHz Methanol Masers in the DR21 Complex
Class I methanol masers are believed to be produced in the shock-excited
environment around star-forming regions. Many authors have argued that the
appearance of various subsets of class I masers may be indicative of specific
evolutionary stages of star formation or excitation conditions. Until recently,
however, no major interferometer was capable of imaging the important 36 GHz
transition. We report on Expanded Very Large Array observations of the 36 GHz
methanol masers and Submillimeter Array observations of the 229 GHz methanol
masers in DR21(OH), DR21N, and DR21W. The distribution of 36 GHz masers in the
outflow of DR21(OH) is similar to that of the other class I methanol
transitions, with numerous multitransition spatial overlaps. At the site of the
main continuum source in DR21(OH), class I masers at 36 and 229 GHz are found
in virtual overlap with class II 6.7 GHz masers. To the south of the outflow,
the 36 GHz masers are scattered over a large region but usually do not appear
coincident with 44 GHz masers. In DR21W we detect an "S-curve" signature in
Stokes V that implies a large value of the magnetic field strength if
interpreted as due to Zeeman splitting, suggesting either that class I masers
may exist at higher densities than previously believed or that the direct
Zeeman interpretation of S-curve Stokes V profiles in class I masers may be
incorrect. We find a diverse variety of different maser phenomena in these
sources, suggestive of differing physical conditions among them.Comment: 8 pages, accepted for publication in Ap
Hour-glass magnetic excitations induced by nanoscopic phase separation in cobalt oxides LaSrCoO
The magnetic excitations in the cuprate superconductors might be essential
for an understanding of high-temperature superconductivity. In these cuprate
superconductors the magnetic excitation spectrum resembles an hour-glass and
certain resonant magnetic excitations within are believed to be connected to
the pairing mechanism which is corroborated by the observation of a universal
linear scaling of superconducting gap and magnetic resonance energy. So far,
charge stripes are widely believed to be involved in the physics of hour-glass
spectra. Here we study an isostructural cobaltate that also exhibits an
hour-glass magnetic spectrum. Instead of the expected charge stripe order we
observe nano phase separation and unravel a microscopically split origin of
hour-glass spectra on the nano scale pointing to a connection between the
magnetic resonance peak and the spin gap originating in islands of the
antiferromagnetic parent insulator. Our findings open new ways to theories of
magnetic excitations and superconductivity in cuprate superconductors.Comment: Nature Communications 5, 5731 (2014
Some results of tectonomagnetic monitoring in the epicentral zone of the M7.5 Altay earthquake, September 27, 2003
We report tectonomagnetic results from the epicentral area of the 27 September 2003 Ms=7.5 earthquake in the
Altay mountains, southern West Siberia. The results were obtained in the first three survey campaigns in early
October 2003, late November 2003, and latest May-early June 2004 using an array of one continuous-measurement
station and fifteen repeated-survey sites. Changes in total geomagnetic field associated with seismic activity
were mostly of regional scale and usually did not exceed 1.5 nT. The M=4.5 aftershock of 31 May 2004 was
accompanied by an anomaly of 1-2 nT. The location of the anomaly within highly magnetic rocks can be evidence
of its piezomagnetic origin
Study of the filamentary infrared dark cloud G192.76+00.10 in the S254-S258 OB complex
We present results of a high resolution study of the filamentary infrared
dark cloud G192.76+00.10 in the S254-S258 OB complex in several molecular
species tracing different physical conditions. These include three
isotopologues of carbon monoxide (CO), ammonia (NH), carbon monosulfide
(CS). The aim of this work is to study the general structure and kinematics of
the filamentary cloud, its fragmentation and physical parameters. The gas
temperature is derived from the NH and
CO(2--1) lines and the CO(1--0), CO(2--1) emission is used
to investigate the overall gas distribution and kinematics. Several dense
clumps are identified from the CS(2--1) data. Values of the gas temperature lie
in the ranges K, column density reaches the value 5.1
10 cm. The width of the filament is of order 1 pc. The masses of
the dense clumps range from M to M.
They appear to be gravitationally unstable. The molecular emission shows a gas
dynamical coherence along the filament. The velocity pattern may indicate
