This study constitutes a new biostratigraphic approach from an outcrop of the Itaituba Formation, in the Itaituba City, southern Amazonas Basin, Pará State, Brazil, integrating conodont and palynological data. Conodont associations includes Idiognathodus incurvus, Idiognathoides sinuatus, Adetognathus lautus, Hindeodus minutus, Diplognathodus coloradoensis, D. orphanus and D. ellesmeremsis. Among the palynomorphs, Costatascyclus  crenatus, Protohaploxypinus amplus, Spelaeotriletes arenaceus, S. triangulus, Meristocorpus explicatus, Striomonosaccites incrassatus and Meristocorpus sp. B constitute important biostratigraphic species, suggesting a middle Atokan age for the study section, in agreement with conodont biostratigraphy. This study constitutes a new biostratigraphic approach from an outcrop of the Itaituba Formation, in the Itaituba City, southern Amazonas Basin, Pará State, Brazil, integrating conodont and palynological data. Debonding analysis via digital volume correlation during in-situ pull-out tests on fractal fibers

The quantification of debonding was performed for additively manufactured “fractal” fibers embedded within two brittle matrices. Three pull-out tests were carried out inside of an X-ray tomograph allowing for Digital Volume Correlation analyses. Relative motions at the interfaces were measured thanks to adapted meshes with split nodes. Profiles of normal, tangential and vertical displacement jumps as well as vertical strains in the fibers were used to study interfacial debonding. An articulated load transfer mechanism between the fiber and the matrix was observed in the examined tests, as demonstrated by zigzagged distributions of vertical displacement jumps and vertical strain profiles in the fibers at the initial stages of pull-out. Vertical strain concentrations were observed in correspondence to lateral protrusions (or ribs) of the reinforcing fibers. These results suggest that fiber–matrix interlocking may be affected by geometry-driven tensile stiffening effects between the ribs. For larger values of pull-out displacements, more diffuse damage of the fiber–matrix interface was observed between the ribs, especially in plaster matrices

Registro de predação de espécies de répteis por Guira guira (Aves: Cuculidae)

Although we have a good understanding of how predation can influence community structure, we still have little information about how predation by visually oriented birds can be a significant source of mortality for reptiles. We observed adults of Guira guira feeding their offspring with four different species of reptiles, namely Amphisbaena vermicularis, Copeoglossum nigropunctatum, Iguana iguana and Tropidurus torquatus. It is the first report of G. guira predation on A. vermicularis and C. nigropunctatum. Although G. guira has been recognized as insectivorous, we believe that predation of small cryptozoic reptiles is a common event during bird breeding season. Keywords: Amphisbaena vermicularis, Copeoglossum nigropunctatum, cryptozoic reptiles, predation strategy, Pantanal.Embora tenhamos um bom entendimento de como a predação pode influenciar a estrutura de uma comunidade, ainda há carência de informações sobre como a predação por aves pode ser uma causa significativa de mortalidade de répteis. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 2030 Agenda represent global development programs. Education can widen the acknowledgement of their relevance and their applications. This survey aims to assess awareness, knowledge and attitudes towards SDGs and sustainability among first-year students in nine Italian Universities. A Likert scale-based online questionnaire of 70 items was compiled by students from March to July 2019. It examined knowledge and expectations referred to sustainable development concepts, indicators and documents/models accounting for sociodemographic variables. Statistical analyses performed were Chi-square test, Fisher\u2019s Exact test, Kendall\u2019s W correlation coefficient, univariate and multivariate analysis. The questionnaire was completed by 1676 students. A low percentage referred a good knowledge of SDGs and 2030 Agenda, most of them had never attended related educational activities previously. Better knowledge of SDGs and 2030 Agenda was observed in case of previous specific educational activities (p < 0.001). The expectation towards university guaranteeing an education on SDGs was high, both for personal wisdom and for usefulness in future professional context. A significant difference (p < 0.001) in such expectations was found, as healthcare students were less interested than colleagues of other areas. The results showed low knowledge but interest towards sustainable development. A scheduled implementation of academic initiatives should be considered
