3-(2-Hydroxyphenyl)-1-{(E)-[1-(pyrazin-2-yl)ethylidene]amino}thiourea monohydrate
In the title compound, C13H13N5OS·H2O, the thiourea molecules closely resemble each other and are approximately planar; the dihedral angles formed between the terminal benzene rings are 7.88 (8) and 7.20 (8)°, respectively. The observed planarity correlates with the presence of bifurcated N—H⋯(O,N) hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, the molecules are connected into supramolecular double chains via a combination of N—H⋯S (linking the two independent molecules), O—H⋯O and O—H⋯N (linking dimeric aggregates into a supramolecular chain via hydroxy–water, water–water and water–pyrazine interactions) and O—H⋯S hydrogen bonds (connecting two chains). The chains are further connected by C—H⋯N and C—H⋯S interactions
Students’ knowledge in the waqf land concept / Siti Nadiah Mohd Ali ... [et al.]
Waqf is an endowment made by a Muslim for religious, educational, or other charitable causes. To promote
thewaqf concept amongst Muslims, we investigated students’ knowledge at the university level. In the earlier
stages, it should start from the educational system which is near to the students. Muslims may not realise this waqf
concept if they are not aware of or don’t want to know about it. Since Real Estate Management programmes have
a significant relationship with waqf, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the level of knowledge in the waqf
land concept by Muslim students who have studied Real Estate Management. It has been focused on endowment
made by the Muslims and potential career opportunities for Real Estate Management students in waqf management in Malaysia. This study has been limited amongst undergraduates of Universiti Teknologi MARA Perak who studied Real Estate Management in the District of Perak Tengah. The quantitative method has been used in the data collection and analysis of this study. Structured questionnaires were distributed amongst students
in the universitiy. Data from the questionnaires were analysed using the IBM SPSS software. The result findings
indicated that the level of knowledge on the waqf concept amongst Real Estate Management university students is
good. The result of this study did not show any significant difference in the knowledge in the waqf land concept
between male and female students and there was no significant difference in the level of knowledge amongst
students from different levels of CGPA. Therefore, this paper will propose to the Department of Estate
Management to take into consideration to include waqf development as one of the major syllabus subjects in their
programme in order to make sure the knowledge and practical development amongst Muslim students after
graduations can benefit waqf performances in Malaysia, efficiently
(E,E)-1,2-Bis[3-methoxy-4-(prop-2-yn-1-yloxy)benzylidene]hydrazine
The complete molecule in the title compound, C22H20N2O4, is generated by the application of an inversion centre. With the exception of the terminal acetylene groups [C—O—C—C = −78.02 (17)°], the remaining atoms constituting the molecule are essentially coplanar. The configuration around the C=N bond [1.282 (2) Å] is E. The formation of supramolecular chains mediated by C—H⋯O interactions, occurring between methylene H and methoxy O atoms, is the most notable feature of the crystal packing
4-(4-Hydroxymethyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)benzoic acid
In the title compound, C10H9N3O3, there is a small twist between the benzene and triazole rings [dihedral angle = 6.32 (7)°]; the carboxylic acid residue is almost coplanar with the benzene ring to which it is attached [O—C—C—C torsion angle = 1.49 (19)°]. The main deviation from coplanarity of the non-H atoms is found for the hydroxy group which is almost perpendicular to the remaining atoms [N—C—C—O torsion angle = −75.46 (16)°]. In the crystal, the presence of O—H⋯O (between carboxyl groups) and O—H⋯N (between the hydroxy group and the triazole ring) hydrogen bonds leads to supramolecular chains along [03]. The chains are connected into sheets via C—H⋯O(hydroxy) interactions
2-Methyl-3-[(4-methylphenyl)sulfonyloxy]-2-{[(4-methylphenyl)sulfonyloxy]methyl}propyl 4-methylbenzenesulfonate
The title molecule, C26H30O9S3, adopts an extended conformation whereby two approximately parallel benzene rings [dihedral angle = 8.32 (10)°] are orientated in opposite directions along the pseudo-threefold axis through the central quaternary C atom, while a third ring occupies a position mid-way and face-on to these rings [dihedral angles = 82.28 (10) and 78.81 (7)°]. The crystal packing is dominated by C—H⋯O contacts and π–π interactions [ring centroid distance = 3.6902 (12) Å]
Synthesis, characterization, and evaluation of silver(I) complexes with mixed-ligands of thiosemicarbazones and diphenyl(p-tolyl)phosphine as biological agents
Five new silver(I) complexes were synthesized with mixed ligands of thiosemicarbazone derivatives and diphenyl(p-tolyl)phosphine in search of new biologically active compounds. A CHN elemental analysis, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) data and several spectroscopic techniques such as Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray, 1 H, 13 C, and 31 P{ 1 H} NMR were performed to elucidate the structure of these complexes. Elemental analysis suggested that the stoichiometry of the complexes formed by the reaction of silver nitrate with thiosemicarbazone in the presence of (p-tolyl)PPh 2 was indeed 1:2:1 molar ratio. The silver ions were discovered to be coordinated to the sulfur of thiosemicarbazone and phosphorus of (p-tolyl)PPh 2 , having a tetrahedral geometry based on the spectroscopic data obtained. The PXRD patterns were studied to see the degree of crystallinity of the complexes. The in vitro antiproliferative activity of these complexes was investigated toward the MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7 breast cancer cell lines, as well as the HT-29 colon cancer cell line, which yielded IC 50 values in low micromolar range. The antiplasmodial activity of these complexes was also examined against chloroquine-resistant Plasmodium falciparum parasite which demonstrated good activity and further tested for their selectivity index. © 2019, © 2019 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group
