Time and frequency characterization of the high speed I/O data bus

High speed data transfer between the CPU and peripherals on the PC motherboard is needed to support data traffic in future generation applications such as multimedia, games and broadband networks. The High Speed I/O data bus is developed to meet these applications. At high speed with multi Gbits/sec, impedance mismatch between the CPU and peripherals becomes critical and limits the possible maximum throughput. This effect can be modeled as a convolution process where the I/O bus behaves as a linear time invariant system that is defined by a channel impulse and frequency response. Since there are variations in the characteristic of the motherboards due to the fabrication and assembly process, it is desired to estimate the impulse response and frequency response of the High Speed I/O bus. This information can be used to gage the capability of the motherboard and use it as feedback to the relevant fabrication and assembly processes. By using simulation on MATLAB and EDA tools, two candidate methods will be evaluated: Impulse response and correlation method using simulated channel characteristics. Robustness of both methods will be evaluated in the presence of noise and cross talk. Further evaluation will be performed on data collected from actual production test of the I/O Bus. The Quality of Word Choice in the Narrative Compositions of the English Department Students

This study was an attempt to answer the questions: Are the words used in the compositions of Writing I students specific and appropriate? Are the nouns, adjectives, verbs, and adverbs used in the compositions under study specific and appropriate? The data source of the study was the students' Writing I final test papers of academic years 2006/2007 (15 papers) and 2008/2009 (15 papers). The results are the words made by the students from both academics are specific and appropriate in which the score is 3. There are 20 essays scored 3 or in good quality, 7 essays with excellent score (4), and 3 essays are scored 2 (fair). The nouns used are specific (good score of 3) while the verbs and the modifiers used are somewhat specific (fair score of 2). All four classwords are used appropriately in which the score is 4 (excellent). Based on the results, it is suggested the EESP authorities include vocabulary section in Writing I syllabus that is treated as equally important as any other elements of Writing. The Writing I lecturers are expected to teach the students to master and use specific and appropriate words. The students themselves are encouraged to enrich their vocabularies by reading books

Inelastic current-voltage characteristics of atomic and molecular junctions

We report first-principles calculations of the inelastic current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of a gold point contact and a molecular junction in the nonresonant regime. Discontinuities in the I-V curves appear in correspondence to the normal modes of the structures. Due to the quasi-one-dimensional nature of these systems, specific modes with large longitudinal component dominate the inelastic I-V curves. In the case of the gold point contact, our results are in good agreement with recent experimental data. For the molecular junction, we find that the inelastic I-V curves are quite sensitive to the structure of the contact between the molecule and the electrodes thus providing a powerful tool to extract the bonding geometry in molecular wires.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure

In Vitro Propagation Of Vanilla (Vanilla Planifolia Andr.) On Different Concentration Of Cytokinins

Micropropagation of vanilla was conducted through excised apical shoot tip and nodal segment as explants to determine the best concentration of growth hormone of cytokinin on multiple shoots production and regeneration. The explants were cultured on MS medium augmented with different concentration of N6-Benzyladenin and Kinetin. Sub culture was done four weeks after inoculation to regenerate more elongated shoots on the medium containing the same concentration of plant growth regulators as inoculation medium. After 60 days of cultured, multiple regenerated shoots were elongated and formed leaves and roots. The two cytokinins tested induced bud break to different degrees. Among the various concentrations tested N6-Benzyladenin at 1.5 mg.l-1 gave the highest mean shoot number (3.27/explant) and leaves (3.80/shoot) differentiation. While the lowest number of shoots and leaves were found on MS medium fortified with 1.0 mg.l-1 Kinetin. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the cooperative learning model of talking stick type in improving the learning outcomes of heat transfer concepts in grade V students of SD Inpres 48 Ambon. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK). Based on the data obtained during the implementation of cycles I and II, the research results in cycle I were still in the sufficient category (C) while for cycle II it increased to the very good category (SB). Efforts to Increase Hemoglobin Levels Through the Administration of Snakehead Fish Nuggets in Postpartum Mothers in Sereh Village, Sentani District, Jayapura Regency

This Community Service aims to improve the knowledge of postpartum mothers about protein-rich nutrition and factors that can inhibit iron absorption. The methods used include counseling, teaching the preparation of snakehead fish nuggets, and health examinations. This activity was conducted in Sereh Village, Sentani, from May to November 2023, with stages including leaflet distribution, nutritional counseling, and hemoglobin level checks before and after consuming nuggets for 14 days. Prior to the main activities, a trial for nugget preparation was conducted, followed by home visits for observation and evaluation. The hemoglobin level checks revealed that 10 (38.46%) postpartum and breastfeeding mothers experienced mild anemia, while 16 (61.54%) did not have anemia, with an average hemoglobin level of 10.196 g/dl. After consuming 100 grams of nuggets daily for 14 days, changes in hemoglobin levels were observed, with mothers who previously experienced mild anemia transitioning to a non-anemic status. The average hemoglobin level after consuming snakehead fish nuggets was 12.308 g/dl, with an average increase of 2.116 g/dl before and after nugget consumption. The conclusion of this community service activity indicates that postpartum mothers experienced an increase in knowledge regarding the importance of protein-rich nutrition and factors that can inhibit iron absorption
