THE ADDED WORKER EFFECT IN BRAZIL: : WIFE RESPONSE TO THE HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD’S UNEMPLOYMENT (2012 TO 2017)

When the principal responsible for the family loses his or her job, it is hoped that, in attempting to maintain the level of family income, another member of the family will become part of the workforce; when this occurs, it has an added worker effect. Thus, the objective of this work is to test the hypothesis of the presence of the additional worker effect for the wife when confronting the unemployment of the head of the family in Brazil. Therefore, we used continuous Pnad information from 2012 to 2017 and variations in the specifications of models’ logit for the wife’s transitions into the job market. It was found that the loss of the job of the head of household has a strong effect on the labour supply of the spouse, mainly in the transition from inactivity to unemployment. It was also found that, in addition to the unemployment of the head of the family, there are other factors that explain the transitions of the spouse in the labour market, particularly when small children are present in households. These factors indicated that the lower the age of these children is, the lower the likelihood of wives participating in the labour market

Demonstrações financeiras da Petrobras S/A publicadas em 2014: análise comparativa das distorções apresentadas após relatório de auditoria à luz dos princípios de governança corporativa e da earning management

Orientadora: Prof.ª M.ª Liliane Maria Nery Andrade.The audit is part of a corporate governance system functioning as a link between shareholders and managers to minimize agency conflicts that are common in organizations where control is disassociated from ownership and is essential to protect users from accounting information. The objective of the research was to compare the financial statements for the third quarter of 2014 of Petrobras S / A published with and without the audit report, in order to identify the accounting items that were modified after the audit report. An exploratory and descriptive survey of a qualitative nature was carried out. Its main sources were the Financial Statements or Accounting Reports of Petrobras S/A obtained on the Company's official website. Articles, laws, decrees, books and news were consulted due to the notoriety of the case in Brazil and abroad. These facts were analyzed in light of the principles of corporate governance and earnings management due to falling stock prices, distortions in accounting lines and the possible framing as Creative Accounting. The results indicate that changes were made in the accounting entries of the Third Quarter of 2014 of Petrobras S/A Financial Statements (DRE) published with the audit report in comparison with that previously published without the audit report. In this way, it was possible to classify the Earnings Management practiced in the Financial Statements of the third quarter of 2014 of Petrobras S/A, as Creative Accounting, as well as to affirm that the principles of corporate governance were harmed. Integração espacial e transmissão de preços das cestas básicas entre as capitais da região sul do Brasil

Fundamentado na teoria de integração de mercado e da Lei de Preço Único, este artigo analisa a integração espacial e transmissão de preços da cesta básica nas três capitais da região sul - Curitiba (PR), Florianópolis (SC) e Porto Alegre (RS) - no período de janeiro de 2000 a janeiro de 2011. Nas análises metodológicas foram utilizados testes de raiz unitária, teste de causalidade Granger, testes de cointegração de Johansen e, por fim, foram estimados modelos de Correção de Erro Vetorial (VEC). Com base nos modelos VEC pode-se concluir que existe alto grau de integração e que as elasticidades dos preços de longo prazo são altas, embora existam desvios de curto prazo

A construção das personagens femininas nigerianas nos contos "No seu Pescoço” e “Os Casamenteiros”, de Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Resumo: Este artigo faz uma análise da construção das personagens femininas negras no contexto da diáspora nos contos “Os Casamenteiros” e “No Seu Pescoço”, publicados no livro No Seu Pescoço (2017), da escritora nigeriana Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. A escritora é uma das vozes da literatura contemporânea africana narrando histórias de mulheres negras e desconstruindo estereótipos em relação ao continente, que é diverso de etnias e diferentes dialetos. Nossas análises estão direcionadas para mulheres negras que migram da Nigéria (África) para os Estados Unidos (EUA) e neste deslocamento vivenciam um choque cultural e de preconceitos em relação à identidade. Para melhor compreensão destas construções na narrativa estabelecemos um diálogo com os estudos de Akotirene (2019), Braga (2019), Hall (2003) e Hooks (1995). Abstract: This article analyzes the construction of black female characters in the diaspora context in the short stories “The arrangers of marriage” and “The thing around your neck”, published in the book The thing around your neck (2017), by the Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The writer is one of the voices of contemporary African literature, narrating the stories of black women and deconstructing stereotypes in relation to the continent, which is diverse in terms of ethnicities and different dialects. Our analyzis are directed towards black women who migrate from Nigeria (Africa) to the United States (USA) and, whitin this displacement, experience a cultural shock and prejudice regarding identity. For a better understanding of these constructions in the narrative, we establish a dialogue with the studies by Akotirene (2019), Braga (2019), Hall (2003) and Hooks (1995).  Resumen: Este artículo analiza la construcción de personajes femeninos negros en el contexto de la diáspora en los cuentos “Os Casamenteiros” y “No Seu Pescoço”, publicados en el libro No Seu Pescoço (2017), de la escritora nigeriana Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. ASPECTOS DO CRESCIMENTO POPULACIONAL: ESTIMATIVAS E USO DE INDICADORES SÓCIO DEMOGRÁFICOS

A dinâmica populacional vem sendo discutida nos últimos tempos em razão das transformações ocorridas na sua composição, a exemplo do rápido crescimento do estrato mais idoso. Neste trabalho, além da discussão das bases teóricas, tratam-se, de forma breve, alguns aspectos das alterações ocasionadas pelas determinantes da transição demográfica e a análise de indicadores socioeconômicos. Observa-se o decréscimo da taxa média geométrica de crescimento anual no Brasil desde o decênio 1960-1970 até a última década: 2,89% e 1,17%, respectivamente. Para 2020, estimou-se uma população de 214.205.940 pessoas. Não obstante São Paulo apresentar maior crescimento absoluto, o crescimento relativo mais forte ocorreu nos estados da Região Norte, especialmente no Amapá, em Roraima e no Acre. Essa tendência já tinha sido constatada pelo Censo de 2010. Em 2008, para 177 países, ocorreu forte correlação negativa entre o IDH e a TFT (r = 0,87) e entre o IDH e a TMI (r = -0,93). Já a correlação verificada entre a TFT e a TMI também foi forte, porém positiva (r = 0,88)

A representação do Nordeste nas letras das músicas da cantora Marinês

Inês Caetano de Oliveira (Marinês) iniciou sua carreira como cantora de forró no ano de 1957 e ganhou espaço no mercado nacional como a Rainha do Xaxado , imagem que marca o seu vínculo com a cultura nordestina. Neste trabalho, consideramos as letras das canções de seu repertório como literatura, dentro de uma concepção ampliada, tributária dos Estudos Culturais, que abarca produções culturais diversas, enquanto formas correntes de significação. Formulamos, assim, a seguinte questão de pesquisa: Como o Nordeste é representado nas letras das músicas da cantora Marinês? Por sua vez, nossos objetivos foram: fazer um levantamento da produção fonográfica da cantora entre os anos de 1957 e 2007; analisar como a região Nordeste e os nordestinos são representados nas letras das canções; analisar a contribuição e trajetória da cantora para a cultura popular nordestina. Para a composição do corpus a ser analisado no trabalho, selecionamos 22 músicas, dentre as mais gravadas pela artista no período dos 50 anos de sua carreira, que aparecem no mínimo duas vezes em discos diferentes e abordam o Nordeste como tema. Essa escolha teve como base um banco de dados digitalizado, elaborado para o desenvolvimento desta pesquisa, que identifica os títulos das músicas e os nomes de seus compositores, quantas vezes foram gravadas pela cantora, em qual disco e o ano de sua produção. Realizamos as análises das letras a partir dos temas recorrentes nos discursos sobre a região: identidade nordestina, estiagem, chuva, práticas culturais, relações entre os seres vivos e a natureza. No decorrer da pesquisa, verificamos que as letras das suas músicas mostram aspectos de importância para a produção de conhecimento sobre a região e a cultura nordestina: religião, costumes, tradições e o sentimento de lugar . Concluímos mostrando que as canções do repertório de Marinês configuram uma construção de identidade regional com base na tradição, através de representações valoradas positivamente, revelando o orgulho em ser nordestino.Inês Caetano de Oliveira (Marinês) initiated her career as a forró singer in the year of 1957 and gained space in the national market as the Queen of Xaxado , image that links her to the Northeast Brazilian culture. On this research we consider the lyrics of the songs in her repertoire as literature, from an extended concept, attributed by the Cultural Studies, which cover several diverse cultural productions, as chained forms of meaning. In this manner we formulated the following researche question: How is the Northeast of Brazil represented in the lyrics in the songs of the singer Marinês? Due to this, our objectives were: To do a research on the phonographic production of the singer between the years of 1957 to 2007; analyze how the Northeast population and the Northeast are represented in the lyrics of theses songs; analyze the contribution and the trajectory of the singer to the Northeast popular culture. For the composition of the corpus to be analyzed in this project, we selected 22 songs that were recorded the most by the artist in the 50 years of her career, that appear at least twice in different albums and addresses the Northeast as a theme. This choice had as base a digital database elaborated for the development of this research, that identifies the titles of the song and the names of their composers, how many times they were recorded by the singer, in which album and year of the production. We did the analyses of the lyrics based on the themes that were recurrent topics about the region: Northeast identity, drought, rain, cultural practices, the relationship with other living beings and nature. During the research, we verified that the lyrics of her songs demonstrate important aspects for the production of knowledge about the region and the Northeast culture: religion, traditional customs and a sense of being . We conclude stating that the songs in Marinês repertoire configure a construction of regional identity, based in tradition, through representations valued positively, revealing the pride in being from the northeast

Aplicações de tecnologias educativas para desenvolvimento de estudantes do ensino infantil

Apresenta resultado de um projeto desenvolvido com crianças da Creche Municipal Marialdo Castelo Branco Melo, que teve como objetivo a criação de um aplicativo computacionais para avaliar o desenvolvimento e capacidade de aprendizagem e motora de estudantes do ensino infantil. Para desenvolvimento do aplicativo foi escolhida a ferramenta AppInventor da Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) por ser uma ferramenta de simples abordagem e com objetivos educacionais. A construção do aplicativo foi baseada em testes de avaliações tradicionais que as professoras da creche já utilizavam para medir o desenvolvimento e aprendizagem das crianças, com questões de identificação de letras, formas geométricas e figuras. A avaliação final, mostrou o aplicativo como ferramenta de avaliação educacional onde as crianças aprendem brincando. Também, foi apresentado para os professores os pontos que eles podem ajustar os conteúdos ou trabalhar individualmente cada criança, utilizando-se dessa tecnologia
