The project presented in this paper aims to formulate a recommendation framework that consolidates the higher education students’ particulars such as their academic background, current study and student activity records, their attended higher education institution’s expectations of graduate attributes and self-assessment of their own generic competencies. The gap between the higher education students’ generic competence development and their current statuses such as their academic performance and their student activity involvement was incorporated into the framework to come up with a recommendation for the student activities that lead to their generic competence development. For the formulation of the recommendation framework, the data mining tool Orange with some programming in Python and machine learning models was applied on 14,556 students’ activity and academic records in the case higher education institution to find out three major types of patterns between the students’ participation of the student activities and (1) their academic performance change, (2) their programmes of studies, and (3) their English results in the public examination. These findings are also discussed in this paperPeer Reviewe

Perawi Non-Sunnnnī dalam S}ah}īh} Al-Bukhārī (Menemukan Nilai-nilai Toleransi dalam Ketatnya Kajian Tentang Hadis Nabi)

S}ah}i>h} al-Bukha>ri> is a masterpiece in hadith's field that known as the most authentic among others (beside Koran). There are some reasons for the extraordinary. One of them is the tight of the author (al-Bukhārī) on sorting out the sanads between him and the other narrators (ruwāh) who are related to the Prophet. However, it can't be denied that apparently, some of the narrators follow the different sect (Shiah etc.) with the sect that al-Bukhārī do (Sunnī). Therefore, it can be understood that there are still some tolerance on the tight of his study for hadith. If we deepen, it can be concluded that this tolerance basically could be applied in the early context, that is in the plural life- the awareness of plurality, the field separation (secred and profane) and credibelity of each person

Paper Prepared for the Migration and Refugee movements in the Middle East and North Africa. The Forced Migration & Refugee Studies Program. The American University in Cairo, Egypt. October 23-25, 2007Disponible Ă  : http://www.aucegypt.edu/ResearchatAUC/rc/cmrs/Pages/meeting.aspxSyria has hosted since the beginning of the 20th century different refugee groups in large number such as Armenians, Palestinians and more recently Lebanese escaping the last war during the summer 2006. Since 2003 Syria hosts a large Iraqi community. The present exodus of Iraqi refugees has its own specificities: there was no mass exodus in one or two waves, such as in the Palestinian case in 1948, but a growing influx of individuals and families crossing everyday the boundary between Iraq and Syria. There are very important differences of standard of living between the various places of residence and according to the religious group to which the refugees belong and their socioeconomic origin in Iraq. Groups are more or less numerous, more or less organized, or having a more or less large Diaspora abroad. Families are usually scattered, and one can notice the relative dislocation of the family and community networks today, which can however preserve an intra-familial efficiency. Due to the massive exodus, Iraqi family as well as Iraqi communities have to reorganize themselves in exile. The recent geographical scattering of some families and groups in different countries, as well as in different locations in the same country, have generated ruptures in the functioning of the networks. The gap between households with strong local and/or transnational connections and those who do not have access to resources and mobility is increasing with the duration of exile. The vulnerability of the refugees is important, in spite of the tolerant and opened Syrian migratory policy. This paper is based on an ongoing research and aims to present some first results

Abstract 'Kite Runner' tells the story of Afghanistan in 1970 to 2002. As like other countries, Afghanistan has a long and complicated history, but Afghanistan gets international attention since a coup in 1973. This article reveals how well the author, Khaled Hosseini, described the political realities in Afghanistan since 1933 to 2002. Though the main theme of this novel is about the friendship between Amir, of the tribe of the Pashtun majority, and Hassan, the Hazara ethnic minority, but this novel also tells a lot about the culture and politics of Afghanistan. In short, although 'The Kite Runner' tells the story of friendship, but it is also good enough to be used as a reference for those who want to know about the state of Afghanistan, not just about politics, but also the state of nature and culture

This study tries to examine (he influence of bondholder- stockholder conflict over di>idend policy to the implementation of accounting conservatism. The examination uses the regression model that relates independent variables to dependent variable. The dependent variable is accounting conservatism and the independent variable is bondholder stockholder conflict over dividend policy. Accounting conservatism is measured by accruals based conservatism. Bondholder-stockholder conflict over dividend policy is measured by three proxies, ie uncertainty of operation, dividend, and leverage. The model also includes three control variables of profitability, firm size, and sales growth. This study uses secondary data, financial statement of non-financial companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange at December 31, 2011-2012. The result of this study indicates that three proxies of bondholder-stockholder conflict over dividend policy are positively Influence accounting conservatism. Profitability and sales growth also significantly influence accounting conservatism. This result indicates that the higher the bondholder-stockholder conflict over dividend policy, the higher tendency that firm implement more conservative accounting

The durability of asphalt pavement is associated with the properties and performance of the binder. This work-study intended to understand the impact of blending Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene (SBS) to conventional asphalt concrete mixtures and calculating the Optimum Asphalt Content (OAC) for conventional mixture also; compare the performance between SBS modified with the conventional mixture. Two different kinds of asphalt penetration grades, A.C. (40-50) and A.C. (60-70), were improved with 2.5 and 3.5% SBS polymer, respectively. Marshall properties were determined in this work. Optimum Asphalt Content (OAC) was 4.93 and 5.1% by weight of mixture for A.C. (40-50) and (60-70), respectively. Marshall properties results show an increasement in the stability value by 8.65 and 20.19% for A.C. (40-50) with 2.5 and 3.5% of SBS, respectively. And an increasement by 9.32 and 20.61% for AC (60-70) with 2.5 and 3.5% of SBS respectively. Furthermore, the results indicate a decrease in Marshall flow by 14.7 and 26.47% for A.C. (40-50) with 2.5 and 3.5% SBS respectively and a decrease by 10.46 and 21.21% for A.C. (60-70) with 2.5 and 3.5% SBS respectively. Other Marshall properties were also calculated. Moreover, Blending SBS polymers to conventional asphalt mixtures produces a better performance to asphalt binder and better Marshall properties, which provides a great solution to Iraqi road problems affected by temperature and high traffic load, including less maintenance. Doi: 10.28991/cej-2021-03091709 Full Text: PD
