Real-World Patterns of Everolimus Use in Patients with Metastatic Breast Cancer
© AlphaMed Press 2020 Background: There is limited literature on patterns of everolimus use and subsequent hospitalizations and emergency room (ER) visits in real-world clinical practice. In this study, we describe patterns of everolimus use and hospitalizations and ER visits in a large cohort of patients with breast cancer (BC). Materials and Methods: Patients with BC treated with everolimus were identified in the MarketScan database from 2009 to 2016. The pattern of everolimus use and frequency of associated ER visits and hospitalizations during treatment (between the first claim and 30 days after the last claim for everolimus) were identified. Descriptive statistics and regression models were used. Results: A total of 3,556 everolimus users were identified (median age of 60 years; median days of use, 112). The initial prescribed dose was 10 mg in 74.8% of the patients. Compared with the initial dose, 23.5% of patients had a dose change. Forty-six percent of patients were hospitalized or had an ER visit during the treatment with everolimus. Age greater than 71, higher comorbidity score, treatment year prior to 2012, and lower initial dose were found to be significantly associated with ER visit/hospitalization in the regression models. Conclusions: A significant proportion of patients receiving everolimus had an ER visit or hospitalization during the use of everolimus. These results provide data regarding risks and benefits of treatment with everolimus. These results will be helpful in identifying patients at higher risk of hospitalizations or ER visits and facilitate evidence-based decision making to avoid serious complications. Implications for Practice: Everolimus, a mammalian target of rapamycin inhibitor, is approved in combination with exemestane in patients with hormone receptor–positive tumors previously treated with anastrozole or letrozole. As new drugs become available, it is crucial to understand the adverse events and potential complications associated with the use of such drugs in the general population, outside of the controlled clinical trial setting. This study describes the patterns of everolimus use and adverse events, including hospitalization and emergency room visits, in a large cohort of patients with metastatic breast cancer in routine practice

The pandemic caused by COVID-19 has undoubtedly been a turning point for the
modus operandi of companies worldwide. It has penetrated deep into internal processes and
has changed people's consumption patterns. In this sense, the purpose of this research is to
carry out a business consulting of Rumi Wasi boutique hotel. Its value proposition is to
transport guests to the colonial era through a traditional infrastructure. Rumi Wasi has gained
recognition and great prestige along travelers; however, it has been mandatory to pause its
activities.
Rumi Wasi's operations in the past two years were analyzed in-depth, identifying
deficiencies, opportunities for improvement, and threats, as well as the strengths that will
allow it to face the new environment. The main problem has determined to be a drop-in sale
since 2019 caused by different factors that were magnified as a result of the global pandemic
in 2020. This research proposes a series of alternative solutions that will allow Rumi Wasi to
reactivate operations in the short term.
Diversification strategies, market penetration, product development, and strategic
alliances have been proposed. The Gantt chart details the solution alternatives scheduled in a
period of 22 weeks, with a total budget of S / 5,009.00. One of the main success factors is the
commitment of General Management when implementing the digital sales plan. Finally, due
to the uncertainty that the hotel sector is going through in the city of Cusco, in the analysis of
the expected results, it was proposed based on two scenarios: on one hand, the optimistic with
the arrival of the vaccine; on the other hand, the pessimistic: with the delay in the vaccine and
a possible second wave. Giving both encouraging results
Early Science with the Large Millimeter Telescope: Constraining the Gas Fraction of a Compact Quiescent Galaxy at z=1.883
We present constraints on the dust continuum flux and inferred gas content of
a gravitationally lensed massive quiescent galaxy at =1.8830.001 using
AzTEC 1.1mm imaging with the Large Millimeter Telescope. MRG-S0851 appears to
be a prototypical massive compact quiescent galaxy, but has evidence that it
experienced a centrally concentrated rejuvenation event in the last 100 Myr
(see Akhshik et al. 2020). This galaxy is undetected in the AzTEC image but we
calculate an upper limit on the millimeter flux and use this to estimate the
H mass limit via an empirically calibrated relation that assumes a constant
molecular gas-to-dust ratio of 150. We constrain the 3 upper limit of
the H fraction from the dust continuum in MRG-S0851 to be
6.8%. MRG-S0851 has a low gas fraction limit with
a moderately low sSFR owing to the recent rejuvenation episode, which together
results in a relatively short depletion time of 0.6 Gyr if no further H
gas is accreted. Empirical and analytical models both predict that we should
have detected molecular gas in MRG-S0851, especially given the rejuvenation
episode; this suggests that cold gas and/or dust is rapidly depleted in at
least some early quiescent galaxies.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures, accepted for publication in Astrophysical Journal

Increasing traditional vegetable consumption in Cavite, Philippines: Understanding consumer and market vendor preferences
The study conducted in Cavite province sheds light on the factors that influence the availability and accessibility of indigenous vegetables in urban and peri-urban markets. The study specifically looked at the perspectives of both market vendors and consumers in the two primary urban areas of Dasmariñas and Bacoor.
One of the key findings of the study is that adult women predominantly make household decisions when it comes to buying vegetables. This suggests that targeting women consumers with information and education about indigenous vegetables could be an effective strategy for promoting their consumption. Nutrition, freshness, and price are the primary considerations for consumers when purchasing vegetables, and they perceive indigenous vegetables as nutritious and affordable. Vendors prioritize shelf life in addition to price, freshness, and nutrition when selecting indigenous vegetables to sell.
The results highlight the importance of the supply chain for indigenous vegetables. In Cavite, it extends from the north to the south of Luzon. Understanding the dynamics of this supply chain is crucial for improving the availability and accessibility of indigenous vegetables in urban and peri-urban markets. Overall, the findings provide valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities for promoting the consumption of indigenous vegetables in urban areas. By addressing the gaps in awareness and knowledge about these food plants and their growth requirements, improving the supply chain to meet consumer and vendor requirements, and improving women consumers’ access to education and information, we can work towards a future where these nutritious, locally-adapted, and culturally significant crops are widely known and available
