Closed-Form and Numerically-Stable Solutions to Problems Related to the Optimal Two-Impulse Transfer Between Specified Terminal States of Keplerian Orbits

The first part of the paper presents some closed-form solutions to the optimal two-impulse transfer between fixed position and velocity vectors on Keplerian orbits when some constraints are imposed on the magnitude of the initial and final impulses. Additionally, a numerically-stable gradient-free algorithm with guaranteed convergence is presented for the minimum delta-v two-impulse transfer. In the second part of the paper, cooperative bargaining theory is used to solve some two-impulse transfer problems when the initial and final impulses are carried by different vehicles or when the goal is to minimize the delta-v and the time-of-flight at the same time

Fast Calculation of Abort Return Trajectories for Manned Missions to the Moon

In order to support the anytime abort requirements of a manned mission to the Moon, the vehicle abort capabilities for the translunar and circumlunar phases of the mission must be studied. Depending on the location of the abort maneuver, the maximum return time to Earth and the available propellant, two different kinds of return trajectories can be calculated: direct and fly-by. This paper presents a new method to compute these return trajectories in a deterministic and fast way without using numerical optimizers. Since no simplifications of the gravity model are required, the resulting trajectories are very accurate and can be used for both mission design and operations. This technique has been extensively used to evaluate the abort capabilities of the Orion/Altair vehicles in the Constellation program for the translunar phase of the mission

A new Unidentified Far Infrared Band in NGC7027

We report on the detection of a molecular band centered at ~98 um (~102 cm^-1), observed with the Infrared Space Observatory in the young Planetary Nebula NGC7027. The band structure and intensity can not be reproduced by atomic fine structure lines, recombination lines or by the rotational emission of abundant molecules. We discuss the possible contribution of the low-energy bending modes of pure carbon chains to the unidentified far-IR bands (UfIBs) observed in C-rich evolved objects. In particular, we speculate that the band emission could arise from the nu_9 and nu_7 bending modes of C_6 and C_5, for which wavenumbers of 90+/-50 and 107+/-5 cm^-1 have been estimated from photoelectron spectroscopy.Comment: 15 pages, 2 figures, accepted in ApJ part

An Optimal Initial Guess Generator for Entry Interface Targeters

If a pure numerical iterative approach is used, targeting entry interface (EI) conditions for nominal and abort return trajectories or for correction maneuvers can be computationally expensive. This paper describes an algorithm to obtain an optimal impulsive maneuver that generates a trajectory satisfying a set of EI targets: inequality constraints on longitude, latitude and azimuth and a fixed flight-path angle. Most of the calculations require no iterations, making it suitable for real-time applications or large trade studies. This algorithm has been used to generate initial guesses for abort trajectories during Earth-Moon transfers

EROTICISM AND SEDUCTION IN WOMEN WITH FUNCTIONAL DIVERSITY

Existe un 10% de la población que padece alguna diversidad funcional (Discapacidad). El 58% de estas personas son mujeres. Mujeres que con bastante frecuencia sufren una doble discriminación: tener una diversidad funcional y ser mujer. Esto las hace mucho más vulnerables a la hora de recibir cualquier tipo de abuso. Entre ellos es demasiado habitual el abuso sexual. Según estudios realizados, la ratio de mujeres con discapacidad que los sufren puede llegar a ser cinco veces mayor que la del 90% de mujeres restante. En cambio, existe una asombrosa contradicción: las mujeres con diversidad funcional son consideradas como seres que carecen de sexualidad, de erotismo, de deseos sexuales e incapaces de atraer sexualmente a otra persona. En este trabajo pretendemos mostrar como diversos artistas han plasmado en sus obras de arte mujeres con discapacidad como sujetos de deseo, con erotismo, con poder de seducción… rompiendo así con todos los estereotipos y creencias acerca de su asexualidad y carencia de atractivo. Por último, haremos referencia a la reciente corriente «devotee»: personas sin discapacidad que sienten una peculiar atracción por quienes sí tienen una discapacidad, lesión o amputación.There is a 10% of the population suffering from some disability. 58% of them are women. These women often suffer double discrimination: they have a disability person and they are woman. This makes them much more fragil when receiving any type of abuse. Among them is too habitual sexual abuse. According to studies conducted, the ratio of women with disabilities who suffer can be five times greater than the remaining 90% of women. However, there is a striking contradiction: women with disability are considered as people without sexuality, erotic, sexual desires and unable to sexually attract another person. n this job, we show how various artists have captured in their artwork disabled women as subjects of desire, erotic, seduction ... breaking all the stereotypes and beliefs about their asexuality and lack of appeal. Hombres que compran desigualdad: análisis crítico del discurso de los sujetos prostituyentes sobre mujeres y niñas prostituidas.

Over the centuries, prostitution has been problematised from many sides, with women always at the centre of the debate. However, its dynamics cannot be understood without the demand side of the equation. Why are there men that pay for prostitution to exist? The purpose of this paper is to give insight into the mindset of men who seek out prostitution services by critically analysing the discourse they produce online. Sex buyers’ expectations in commercial sexual encounters with prostituted women are a good insight into their belief system about women in general. Such expectations are likely to have practical consequences in the way they behave in their relationships with all women in terms of sexuality and, therefore, for feminist purposes of equality on a broader scale.Durante siglos, la prostitución ha sido problematizada desde muchos ángulos, con las mujeres siempre en el centro del debate. Sin embargo, sus dinámicas no pueden ser comprendidas sin un análisis de la demanda. ¿Por qué hay hombres que pagan para que la prostitución exista? El objetivo de este artículo es ahondar en su manera de pensar mediante un análisis crítico del discurso que ellos mismos producen. Las expectativas que estos hombres tienen de cara a los encuentros sexuales comerciales con mujeres prostituidas son una ventana a su sistema de creencias sobre las mujeres en general. Tales expectativas tienen consecuencias prácticas en la manera en que actúan con todas las mujeres dentro del marco de la sexualidad y, por tanto, afecta a la lucha por la igualdad fáctica entre hombres y mujeres a nivel social

Las bóvedas irregulares del tratado de Vandelvira. Estrategias góticas en cantería renacentista

Esta ponencia se centra en el análisis de las seis bóvedas irregulares recogidas en el manuscrito de cantería de Alonso de Vandelvira (c.1580), que han llegado hasta nosotros a través del ejemplar conservado en la Biblioteca de la Escuela de Arquitectura de Madrid. Las “figuras irregulares” (el rombo igual y el rombo desigual), que ocupan los dos últimos capítulos del manuscrito, están resueltas, en cada caso, de tres formas distintas; llama la atención observar cómo, de las seis bóvedas propuestas, dos son de crucería, concretamente las primeras de cada ejemplo. Esta combinación de bóvedas de crucería, de tradición gótica, con otras de factura renacentista, ilustra una situación que se dio en España en los siglos XVI y XVII durante los cuales se siguieron construyendo bóvedas de crucería pese a que ya se habían adoptado las formas renacentistas importadas de Italia. El estudio de estas seis bóvedas aporta nuevos datos sobre la transición entre las bóvedas góticas y las bóvedas renacentistas. Analizar y comparar las distintas soluciones propuestas ha permitido constatar la pervivencia de estrategias góticas en la cantería renacentista y cómo la separación entre ambas técnicas constructivas no es tan radical como tradicionalmente se ha venido considerando

Brief aperçu de l'éducation inclusive en Europe

The article presents a panorama of the situation of the inclusive education in Europe from the relation existing between the structures of the European education systems and the models of inclusive education developed by the various countries. We also analyse the development of the systems of integration and "specific centre" and how some nuances were introduced between the two forms of conceiving the inclusive education throughout the last twenty years. The analysis of the numbers of students diagnosed BEP (SpecialNeeds and Inclusive Education) and of those who study in specific centres in each of the countries is interesting to deduce that the criteria used in inclusive education in Europe are far from being homogeneous enough and that both big trends: integration and education in specific centre continue existing in Europe with a clear trend towards the inclusive mode
