Value in servitization: From dyad to network level

Servitization implies a customer-centred approach, where value is enhanced through communication and interaction between the parties. The creation, delivery and capture of value in servitization have been widely analyzed within the supplier-customer dyad. However, when moving to a multi-actor level, a gap has been found regarding the challenges that the embedded context in which servitization takes place can have over the distribution and capture of part of the value created

Servitization business value: An ego-network perspective

Servitization is increasingly being adopted by manufacturers leading to new sources of value. Current research recognises the relevance of partnerships for the capture of value, but ignores the transformation stages. Manufacturers at different transformation stages have different servitization goals, hindering the applicability of the current theoretical frameworks. The present research seeks to directly address this gap, analysing the value capture process within a manufacturer’s ego-network at the initial transformation stage. Findings provide academics with a reference point regarding a specific transformation stage and help practitioners to better manage their position in the ego-network to efficiently capture the value of servitization

Some effects of chronic monocular paralysis in adult cats rapidly reversed by paralyzing the second eye

Disruptions in binocular stimulation induced by two or more weeks of monocular paralysis (ChMP), reduce the encounter rates for Xrelative to Y-type LGN cells (a reduction in the X/Y ratio) during semichronic recordings from adult cats. Less than four days of monocular paralysis (AcMP) has no impact upon the X/Y ratio. The processes underlying ChMP'.s impact upon the X/Y ratio are not passive or degenerative, and are therefore active processes such as 1) excitability changes in X-cells, in Y-cells, or in both cell types; or 2) change in the functional characteristics of X-cells such that they are systematically reclassified as Y-cells. These alternatives were explored using standard extracellular unit recording procedures, including classification of cells as X- or Y-type with a common battery of receptive field and physiological measures. Preliminary experiments indicated that nitrous oxide anesthesia reverses the impact of ChMP, rendering the X/Y ratio of ChMP equivalent to that of AcMP (which is unaffected by anesthesia), and that this effect is so robust that it is evident in single electrode penetrations

A EXTRAFISCALIDADE COMO INSTRUMENTO DE PROTEÇÃO DO MEIO AMBIENTE ECOLOGICAMENTE EQUILIBRADO

O presente estudo busca demonstrar como a tributação, com finalidade não fiscal, pode consubstanciar-se num meio eficaz de proteção do meio ambiente ecologicamente equilibrado. Nesse escopo, analisa-se a extrafiscalidade, que objetiva a realização de valores que ultrapassam a mera arrecadação de tributos; como instrumento de preservação ambiental dentro de uma sociedade reflexiva, de risco. Para tanto, a extrafiscalidade é demonstrada em dois principais segmentos: a) pelos impostos e b) através dos benefícios fiscais. Assim, traça-se um elo entre o Direito Tributário e o Direito Ambiental a partir do estudo da extrafiscalidade como ferramenta de proteção do meio ambiente

A efetividade da dignidade humana nas relações interprivadas pela vivência da solidariedade

O presente artigo aborda o novo contexto sócio-jurídico-político e constitucional estabelecido no cenário nacional pela Constituição Federal de 1988, o qual permite verificar pontos de intersecção entre direito público e direito privado. Ainda, os princípios constitucionais, em razão da força normativa que a Constituição obteve, passam a ter efeitos sobre todo o ordenamento jurídico. Sendo assim, o princípio constitucional da solidariedade encaixa-se nesse cenário, pois passa a ser reconhecido e observado tanto no âmbito das relações públicas como nas relações privadas, com o propósito de concretizar os direitos fundamentais realizadores da dignidade da pessoa humana. Nesse sentido, o objetivo do trabalho é verificar a efetividade da dignidade humana nas relações interpessoais pela vivência da solidariedade. Como resultado, é possível verificar a mudança da dinâmica das relações interpessoais, a partir do entendimento da importância do princípio da solidariedade e da sua vivência, garantindo o respeito à dignidade, assim como o bem estar comum, evitando a litigiosidade nestas relações. O método de abordagem utilizado foi o dedutivo e a técnica de pesquisa empregada foi a documentação indireta, através de referências doutrinárias publicadas em documentos científicos

Aging and selective attention to location and color : visual event-related potentials

Studies of selective attention in normally aging individuals using event related potential (ERP) and reaction time (RT) measures have suggested slowing and reduced selectivity with age, particularly when the location of the relevant stimulus is uncertain. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of age on the time course and scalp distribution of ERP indicants of spatial and feature selective attention. Group differences in spatial relevance effects were expected to be earlier and more frontal; feature relevance effects, later and more posterior. Healthy normal subjects were recruited for the study. The mean age of the 8 younger and 8 older subjects was 25 yrs. and 70 yrs., respectively. The stimuli consisted of red and green flashes presented in the left or right visual field, one of which was task relevant. ERPs were recorded from occipital, central, and frontal sites. The amplitude and latency of the largest deflection in four time windows of the ERP associated with feature and spatial relevance effects were measured (P144, N188, N325, and P445)
