Functional Interactions of metalloprotein YbeY, involved in ribosomal metabolism, with the putative metal efflux protein YbeX

YbeY is a putative ribosomal endoribonuclease which has been implicated, among other things, to be involved in quality control of 70S ribosomes, in 17S pre-rRNA maturation and in ribosomal degradation. However, controversy reigns over its mode of action, substrates, co-factors, and interaction partners. Proposed interactors of YbeY include ribosomal protein S11, Era, YbeZ, and SpoT. In many bacteria ybeY is located in the ybeZYX-Int operon, where ybeZ encodes a PhoH subfamily protein with NTP hydrolase domain and ybeX encodes a putative Cobalt/Magnesium efflux protein. Depletion of YbeY and YbeX have largely overlapping phenotypes, including accumulation of 17S pre-rRNA and an approximately 1 kb 16S rRNA cleavage product, sensitivity to heat shock, and to the protein synthesis inhibitors chloramphenicol and erythromycin. Overexpression of the YbeY partially rescues the some of the phenotypes of ΔybeX. Taken together our results indicate a functional interaction between ybeY and ybeX

Münâsebetü’l- Qur’an science takes its main importance not from the time of revelation of verses but from being subjected to a different order within the frame of wisdom determined by Allah Almighty. Determining the meaning relations between the elements of the sentence, ensuing sentences, passages and surahs, constitutes the main subject of this science of Qur’an. Fahrettin er-Râzî and Bikâî made a great contribution to this science in the historical process. After them, especially in the tafsirs written in the 20th century, it is observed that there is more place for this science of Qur’an. The first verses of the Qur’an, which is an address to all times, especially to the period when verses are sent down, are the first five verses of Surah Alaq, according to the general acceptance. In these first verses presented by the divine speech to the realization of humanity, it is very important for humanity to analyze the most basic truths and goals. In this context, the examination of the relevant verses in terms of the science of Münâsebetü’l-Qur’an will both provide a deeper understanding of these verses and create an exemplary study in order to show the importance of this science.Münâsebetü’l-Kur’ân ilmi, asıl önemini Kur’ân’daki âyetlerin nüzûl tarihi sırasına göre değil, Cenâb-ı Hakkın belirlediği hikmetler çerçevesinde farklı bir tertibe tabi tutulmasından almaktadır.

Predictive value of atrial electromechanical delay for atrial fibrillation recurrence

Background: We investigated the predictive value of atrial electromechanical delay (AEMD) for recurrence of atrial fibrillation (AF) at 1-month after cardioversion. Methods: Seventy-seven patients with persistent AF were evaluated and finally 50 patients (12 men, 38 women) were included. All patients underwent transthoracic electrical DC cardioversion under amiodarone treatment. AEMD was measured as the time interval from the onset of the P wave on electrogram (ECG) to the beginning of late diastolic wave (Am) from the ventricular annulus and atrial walls on tissue Doppler imaging, in the apical 4-chamber view 24 h after cardiversion. P wave maximum-duration (Pmax), P wave minimum-duration (Pmin) and P wave dispersion-duration (Pdis) were calculated on the 12-lead ECG at 24-h postcardioversion. We followed the heart rate and rhythm by 12-lead ECG at 24-h, 1-week and 1-month.Results: At 1-month follow-up after cardioversion, 28 (56%) patients were in sinus rhythm (SR), whereas 22 (44%) patients reverted to AF. The AEMD durations were longer in AF group than SR group (p < 0.001) and were signifi cantly correlated with Pmax and Pdis (p < 0.001 for both). For AF recurrence; duration of AF, left atrial (LA) diameter, maximum LA volume index, mitral A velocity and LA lateral AEMD were significant parameters in univariate-analysis, however LA lateral AEMD was the only significant parameter in multivariate-analysis (OR: 1.46; 95% CI 1.02–2.11; p = 0.03).Conclusions: Our results suggest that AEMD is associated with an increased risk of recurrence of AF within 1-month. These data may have implications for the identification of patients who are most likely to experience substantial benefit from cardiversion therapy for AF

Abstract

Background

Statin pretreatment has been associated with a decrease in myocardial ischemia markers after various procedures and cardiovascular events. This study examined the potential beneficial effects of preoperative atorvastatin treatment among patients undergoing on-pump CABG operation.

Methods

Twenty patients that had received atorvastatin treatment for at least 15 days prior to the operation and 20 patients who had not received any antihyperlipidemic agent prior to surgery were included in this study. CK-MB and troponin I levels were measured at baseline and 24 hours after the operation. Perioperative variables were also recorded.

Results

Twenty-four hours after the operation, troponin I and CK-MB levels were significantly lower in the atorvastatin group: for CK-MB levels, 12.9 ± 4.3 versus 18.7 ± 7.4 ng/ml, p = 0.004; for troponin I levels, 1.7 ± 0.3 versus 2.7 ± 0.7 ng/ml, p < 0.001. In addition, atorvastatin use was associated with a decrease in the duration of ICU stay.

Conclusions

Preoperative atorvastatin treatment results in significant reductions in the levels of myocardial injury markers early after on-pump CABG operation, suggesting a reduction in perioperative ischemia in this group of patients. Further studies are needed to elucidate the mechanisms of these potential benefits of statin pretreatment.</p

This thesis was done the case company which challenges with their bookkeeping so that the real stock and ERP stock has mismatch. The objective for this thesis was to study this mismatch. The research was implemented firstly by collection the needed data for understand the potential source for the mismatch. Data was collected for the company’s ERP system with comparing the usage of one product’s components with different size orders. The root reasons were also thought with the help of fishbone diagram. The theoretical part of thesis is focusing on Kanban and Lean six sigma which are in crucial part of the empirical study as well. The collected data was used for improvements which were done by using the theories of DMAIC as well as Kanban board. The implementation of the improvement ideas is left to the case company
