    Power Factor Corrector Design applied to an 85-kHz Wireless Charger

    Wireless charging technology extends the battery autonomy by allowing more flexible and practical ways of recharging it even when the electric vehicle is on move. The frequency conversion, which is required to generate a kHz-ranged magnetic field, also leads to considerable harmonics. As a result, the power factor and the corresponding efficiency decrement. This paper proposes a Power Factor Corrector which overcomes this drawback. The most relevant feature of the designed Power Factor Corrector is that it does not need any electrical signal from the secondary side to adjust its operation properly. The simulation results show the ability of the proposed scheme to increment the system efficiency for different State-Of-Charge in the Battery.Universidad de Málaga.     Assessment of mortar evolution in pig slurry by mechanical and ultrasonic measurements

    This work presents the results obtained in a long-term experiment focused on the study of the evolution of cementitious materials immersed in pig slurry at real conditions. Cement mortars were made with four different cement types and immersed in pig slurry for 48 months. Furthermore, to separate pure hydration process from pig slurry effect, mortar samples were immersed in water for 12 months at laboratory conditions. Compressive strength, X-ray diffraction and ultrasonic measurements were made in all samples. Ultrasonic measurements were made from ultrasonic images obtained from automatic ultrasonic inspections. Use of ultrasonic images has allowed the extraction of information about the state of the studied materials. An empirical relationship between ultrasonic velocity and compressive strength has been obtained and the long-term effect of pig slurry on cementitious materials has been determined

    Magnetic loops in the quiet Sun

    We investigate the fine structure of magnetic fields in the atmosphere of the quiet Sun. We use photospheric magnetic field measurements from {\sc Sunrise}/IMaX with unprecedented spatial resolution to extrapolate the photospheric magnetic field into higher layers of the solar atmosphere with the help of potential and force-free extrapolation techniques. We find that most magnetic loops which reach into the chromosphere or higher have one foot point in relatively strong magnetic field regions in the photosphere. 9191% of the magnetic energy in the mid chromosphere (at a height of 1 Mm) is in field lines, whose stronger foot point has a strength of more than 300 G, i.e. above the equipartition field strength with convection. The loops reaching into the chromosphere and corona are also found to be asymmetric in the sense that the weaker foot point has a strength B<300B < 300 G and is located in the internetwork. Such loops are expected to be strongly dynamic and have short lifetimes, as dictated by the properties of the internetwork fields.Comment: accepted for ApJL Sunrise special issue, 8 Pages, 4 Figure

    Innovación en la política turística española: análisis desde una perspectiva histórica

    Comunicación presentada en el XVIII Congreso AECIT, Benidorm, 26-28 Noviembre 2014.El Estado es un agente favorecedor clave de la innovación que tiene lugar en el sistema turístico, tanto en el ejercicio de su función de diseñar e implantar política pública, como a partir del estímulo deliberado a la innovación. En esta investigación el análisis se centra en la innovación generada dentro de la política turística española que afecta a sus propias estructuras e instrumentos y se hace desde perspectiva histórica. El objetivo de este estudio es aplicar el concepto de la innovación, sobre el que se ha reflexionado fundamentalmente en un ámbito de mercado, al ámbito del diseño e implantación de políticas públicas que se rige por unos objetivos y reglas de funcionamiento distintas a la lógica del mercado. A partir de la observación rigurosa y sistemática de los instrumentos de la política turística del gobierno central se ha tratado de discriminar qué novedades reúnen las características necesarias para ser consideradas innovación por cuanto intensidad de cambio inducido, efectiva ejecución, impacto generado y ruptura respecto a lo previamente existente, requisitos considerados condición ineludible para su identificación como tal. El análisis demuestra que gobierno central en su ejercicio de diseño de políticas ha dado muestras de abundante creatividad y de un esfuerzo notable por introducir soluciones nuevas y cambios para dar respuesta a nuevos y antiguos problemas aunque no todos los intentos han desembocado en innovación. Se confirma, por tanto, que la innovación como resultado no es un fenómeno fácil ni frecuente. Ésta se ha identificado fundamentalmente en los instrumentos organizativos y programáticos de dicha política turística. Asimismo, los cambios institucionales radicales o las situaciones de crisis del sector han forzado a la búsqueda de estrategias más innovadoras y han constituido entornos más fértiles para la innovación.The estate is a key agent that influences innovation in the tourism system via its actions of public policy design and implementation and also its direct intervention to stimulate innovation. The analysis focuses on innovation in tourism policy that affects its own structures and instruments from a historical perspective in Spain. The aim of this study is to apply the concept of innovation, mainly thought from a market perspective, to the domain of public policies design and implementation which obeys rules and objectives different than the market. From a systematic and rigorous observation of central government tourism policy instruments an attempt to distinguish innovation has been made based on criteria such as intensity of induced change, effective implementation, impact and disruption from previous existent knowledge and action. The analysis shows that central government in its exercise of policy design has demonstrated a great deal of creativity and has made efforts to introduce new solutions and induce change to solve new and old problems. However, not all creative efforts have become innovation. It is thus confirmed that innovation is not frequent or an easy phenomenon. It has mainly been identified in the management and programmatic tourism policy instruments.     Strategies for smart and sustainable transport from a gender perspective

    Mobility, and especially urban mobility, has changed drastically in recent times. This has been due, on the one hand, to the development and application of new technologies that have led to new modes of transport, fuels and resource sharing. On the other hand, the impact on mobility and logistics of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, which has led to a decrease in the number of daily trips, changes in the choice and use of transport modes and the accelerated evolution of B2C e-commerce logistics distribution. Gender differences in mobility patterns are well known. Although the geographical, social and cultural context may influence mobility habits, and may make these gender differences more or less pronounced, the literature published over the years has identified common patterns or trends in developed countries. On the other hand, the effects of the COVID-19 crisis in the social and economic sphere have aggravated inequalities between population groups, with women being one of the most affected groups, which may accentuate this gender gap in mobility. Mobility and transport policies should aim at an efficient and sustainable use of transport modes, while ensuring road safety and equal opportunities of use. Through a strategic analysis of urban mobility from a gender perspective, strategies are identified and recommendations are offered for policy decisions in mobility planning towards smarter urban mobility.Universidad de Málaga.     Albendazole Solid Dispersions: Influence of Dissolution Medium Composition on In Vitro Drug Release

    The rate-limiting step to drug absorption is often dissolution from the dosage form, especially for poorly soluble com-pounds. Two possibilities for improving the dissolution of these drugs are to increase the available surface area and to im-prove their apparent solubilities under physiologically relevant conditions with surfactants as wetting agents. Albendazole (ABZ), one of the most effective broad-spectrum antihelminthic agents, has a very low aqueous solubility, which leads to an erratic availability. Solid dispersions (SD) with different amounts of carriers (P188 and PEG6000) were formulated to improve the ABZ dissolution rate. When the dissolution test is used to infer biopharmaceutical properties of the dosage form, it is es-sential that the method simulates the gastrointestinal conditions. The objective of this study was to examine the applicabil-ity of different dissolution media to the evaluation of ABZ and ABZ-SD dissolution rates. Dissolution profiles were performed by the official method (0.1 N HCl) and Simulated Gastric Fluid modified with a surfactant. Wetting was evaluated through the determination of surface tension and contact angle of the solutions. The dissolution rate of ABZ was clearly affected by the variables assessed in this study.     In this paper we characterize the process of technological monitoring like enterprise answer to the necessary adjustment to turbulent environments and like origin of competitive advantages. In this respect we fulfil a theoretical critique, a strategic analysis of the above-mentioned monitoring like tool for the competitive development of the company in sectors involved with the research, development and innovation (R+D+i), as well as a sequential adjustment to the development of aquaculture. On the above mentioned base we have realized an application to the Spanish Aquaculture, by means of the resistance of three hypotheses related to the global level of development of the systems, the factors and agents of the environment and the use of sources of intelligence, all of them through statistical program SPSS 18.     In a population of 40 patients of a Hospital of Second Level of Care, the grade of compliance of the F1-PIVUPSVI / 02 format obtained a low overall compliance. It was found a finding a significant dependence between the academic degree and the compliance degree. It can be observed a slight increase in compliance according to the academic degree. Among the nine criteria, bag level, id and connected drainage was the most complied, and those of low compliance were hygienic and guidance measures. In terms of category, specialists in nursing report better compliance, the general nurses and graduates in nursing achieve the least compliance. Intensive therapy ranked first in compliance. For the inferential analysis, chi squared was applied, finding a significant dependence between the criteria for reporting data on urinary tract infection and the performance of hygienic measures on the patient. Carrying out hygienic measurements to the patient with the recording of the probe. As well as the counseling measures provided to the patient and relative to the record of functioning of the probe.Infections associated with bladder catheterization are in third place among the causes of morbidity, considering that millions of bladder catheterizations are performed globally for diagnosis and treatment. Therefore, the objective of this investigation is to determine the grade of compliance of the Intensive Therapy Form F1-PIVUPSVI / 02 ("Prevention of urinary tract infections in patients with bladder catheter installed").
