Paradigmas, métodos e contextos no estudo do recinto-monumento Crasto de Palheiros (Norte de Portugal) durante o III mil. AC
This paper is based on the study of the archaeological record and the samples collected in the enclosure-monument of Crasto de Palheiros and discusses the interpretative possibilities of: a. the use of different areas of the site in which samples of macro-remains and faunal remains were sampled; b. the intentional sealing of contexts and depositions related to food and/or socially restricted meals.The fact that in this Mediterranean ecosystem cattle represent a major social investment in their maintenance, their slaughter and consumption, must be connected to the social obligations of the communities that relate their identity to Crasto (i.e. as their regional political and social centre) is considered

MEDICAL STUDENT IN THE FAMILY HEALTH STRATEGY ON THE FIRST YEARS OF COLLEGE: PERCEPTION OF GRADUATES
Considerando o desconhecimento do efetivo significado da vivência de estudantes de medicina ao serem inserido Estratégia Saúde da FamÃlia (ESF) em séries iniciais do curso por meio de estratégias de ensino baseadas na problematizaçao da realidade, propôs-se a compreender tal inserção na ótica dos egressos. Estudo qualitativo realizado por meio de entrevistas com egressos formados nos anos de 2009, 2010 e 2011. A análise dos dados teve como referência a técnica da hermenêutica-dialética. Os egressos consideram que essa inserção possibilitou o conhecimento da organização e funcionamento do serviço de saúde e do contexto de vida dos usuários, facilitou a relação médico paciente, o desenvolvimento do raciocÃnio clÃnico e o vÃnculo. Destacam, no entanto, que a imaturidade do estudante impede maior aproveitamento da vivência. Embora essa trajetória esteja permeada por avanços e desafios, conclui-se que ela se mostra capaz de sedimentar elementos imprescindÃveis à formação médica.Considerando el desconocimiento del efectivo significado de la vivencia de estudiantes de medicina al ser inserido Estrategia Salud de la Familia (ESF) en series iniciales del curso por medio de estrategias de enseñanza basadas en la problematización de la realidad, se propuso a comprender tal inserción en la óptica de los egresos. Destacan, aunque, que la inmadurez del estudiante impide mayor aprovechamiento de la vivencia. Sin embargo esa trayectoria esté permeada por avances y desafÃos, se concluye que ella se muestra capaz de sedimentar elementos imprescindibles a la formación médica.There is a lack of knowledge about the effective value of the experience gained by medical students who participate in the Family Health Strategy (Estratégia Saúde da FamÃlia (ESF)) during the early stages of their medical training. This teaching strategy is based on learning by experiencing the problems that exist in real life. This study proposed to understand the value of this teaching strategy from the viewpoint of the students who had participated, after their graduation. The method adopted was a qualitative study conducted through interviews with students who graduated in the years 2009, 2010 and 2011. The data analysis used the hermeneutic dialectic technique as its model. The graduates considered that this experience enabled them to understand the organization and functioning of the health service and the context of the daily life of the users. This experience facilitated the doctor patient relationship, the development of clinical reasoning and the bond with the user. However the students emphasized that a lack of maturity prevented them gaining a higher level of benefit from the experience. Therefore, although the structure of the course is permeated by advances and challenges, it was concluded that this experience contributed to the student's learning of certain essential elements of medical training
As TIC na educação pré-escolar: refletindo sobre a construção de saberes
Reconhecendo a importância que as tecnologias da informação e
comunicação (TIC) representam na criação de oportunidades para
que todos possam aprender e continuar a aprender ao longo da vida,
entendemos ser pertinente aprofundar a reflexão sobre o papel que
assumem na educação pré-escolar, bem como acerca das estratégias a
promover para que a sua utilização se torne facilitadora da
aprendizagem e desenvolvimento de todos, crianças e adultos.
Nesta comunicação pretendemos apresentar e discutir as linhas de
ação e desenvolvimento de um projeto de intervenção que
promovemos com um grupo de crianças da faixa etária pré-escolar,
procurando favorecer a utilização das TIC como meio de pesquisa,
recreação e comunicação. Foram usadas pelas crianças ferramentas
informáticas para visualização de fotografias, pesquisa de tópicos,
audição de música, desenho, pintura, processamento de texto e
comunicação com crianças de uma instituição situada noutro
contexto sociogeográfico.
Os dados permitem perceber o grande envolvimento das crianças nas
atividades educativas promovidas com recurso às TIC, a
possibilidade de uma abordagem integrada das diferentes áreas de
conteúdo curricular e os seus potenciais contributos para o
desenvolvimento de saberes/competências considerados essenciais,
como aprender a aprender, aprender a cooperar, aprender a
comunicar, desenvolver autoconfiança e resiliência
Fluorescence microscopy imaging denoising with Log-Euclidean priors and photobleaching compensation
Fluorescent protein microscopy imaging is nowadays one of the most important tools in biomedical research. However, the resulting images present a low signal to noise ratio and a time intensity decay due to the photobleaching effect. This phenomenon is a consequence of the decreasing on the radiation emission efficiency of the tagging protein. This occurs because the fluorophore permanently loses its ability to fluoresce, due to photochemical reactions induced by the incident light. The Poisson multiplicative noise that corrupts these images, in addition with its quality degradation due to photobleaching, make long time biological observation processes very difficult. In this paper a denoising algorithm for Poisson data, where the photobleaching effect is explicitly taken into account, is described. The algorithm is designed in a Bayesian framework where the data fidelity term models the Poisson noise generation process as well as the exponential intensity decay caused by the photobleaching. The prior term is conceived with Gibbs priors and log-Euclidean potential functions, suitable to cope with the positivity constrained nature of the parameters to be estimated.
Monte Carlo tests with synthetic data are presented to characterize the performance of the algorithm. One example with real data is included to illustrate its application
Articulating the Shape: Transversal Pedagogical Actions for the Construction of Knowledge on Visual Syntax
This paper emphasizes the development of the ability to articulate the visual / formal syntax as a fundamental way for the consolidation of project thinking among fashion design students. From an exploratory approach, it integrates two research focuses: the first investigates the self-regulation of learning in project teaching; the second addresses methodological strategies for the development of the ability of compositional synthesis. Thus, the study examines practices for Visual Methodology learning in the Bachelor of Fashion Design course at the State University of Londrina, searching for effective contributions in the experimental creative manipulation and decomposition of visual messages. With that aim, a combination of pedagogical actions (assignments) is analyzed, aiming at proving its didactic efficiency. Results confirm the potential of such actions and self-regulated learning strategies as facilitators of the ability to generate expressive concepts and create artifacts in the field of fashion.This paper emphasizes the development of the ability to articulate the visual / formal syntax as a fundamental way for the consolidation of project thinking among fashion design students. Adoption of the Guidelines for Higher Education Libraries in Portugal: contributions to assessment
Three years after the publication and large-scale dissemination of the guideline document "Recommendations for Higher Education Libraries", we seek to understand the extent to which this document has been adopted by librarians and how practices and experiences have been introduced in Portuguese higher education libraries. This paper aims to assess the application of the Recommendations on user training, particularly in information literacy; in digital content management, including data and scientific production; and in the direct support to students, teachers and researchers, not forgetting topics of space management and information resources as a whole. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was used for higher education libraries in Portugal. The most implemented areas are information literacy and the management of institutional repositories, and support for editorial projects was the one with the lowest level of application.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
