Application of the Upper Bound Theorem to indentation processes with tilted punch by means of Modular Model

Nowadays, the indentation processes are resuming it importance due to the new deformation processes that are being developed, as the Incremental Forming Process (IFP) or the Localized-Incremental Forming Process (LIFP) [1]. In this paper, a tilt punch is considered in order to cover the largest possible number of cases in the study of the indentation,. Thus, using combinations of flat and tilt punches, it will be possible to analyze complex geometries in future studies. Present study shows the analysis of the indentation process by the Upper Bound Theorem (UBT), when it is performed with a tilt punch. A modular model is developed, compound by two modules of Triangular Rigid Zones (TRZ) each [2], which adapts to the configuration of the punch.Universidad de Málaga. Executive compensation: does firm performance impact executive salaries? the cases of Uk, Portugal, Spain and Sweden and Denmark

The dissertation researches the impact that key performance measures, notably, ROA and ROE, Turnover, Net Dividend Yield, have on executives’ compensation, focusing on three specific regions, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Denmark, and Portugal and Spain. The method used was to apply an econometric regression model –OLS–, with selected corrections, due to heteroscedasticity by means of a robust regression. The sample consisted of 98 FTSE100 Companies, 62 OMX Nordic companies, and 40 companies from IBEX and PSI20 combined. The results obtained showed there is little evidence of the relation of firm performance with compensation, but that there is a strong relationship between these variables and company size, which is most significant in the UK. Also, there are marked differences amongst the regions, namely the significance that Net Dividend Yield has in the region of Iberia, and the non-significance of most variables for the Nordic regio

Na Aldeia Global em que vivemos, a Comunicação Organizacional é um factor crucial do dia-a-dia de qualquer colaborador e da organização onde trabalha. A sua crescente importância tem vindo a ser estudada por diferentes autores ao longo dos anos, e mesmo sendo de difícil definição, a sua presença já é vista como um factor de sucesso empresarial. Neste contexto, o objectivo deste relatório é analisar o fenómeno comunicacional da companhia de aviação Portugália Airlines (PGA), dando especial relevo à Comunicação Interna realizada na empresa. Pretende-se então verificar, mediante a utilização de um conjunto de instrumentos de análise empírica, o impacto da comunicação como instrumento organizacional, motivando e mobilizando os colaboradores que desta forma sentem fazer parte da organização.In the Global Village we live in, the Organizational Communication is a crucial factor in a worker’s day, as well as in the organization he works in. Its growing importance has been a subject of study by different authors throughout the years and although its definition can be difficult, its presence is already seen as a factor of organizational success. Organización del talento humano y la evaluación de desempeño de los trabajadores de la Empresa de Caudales, Lima – 2017

El presente trabajo de investigación tuvo como propósito reconocer la relación que existe entre la Organización del talento humano y evaluación de desempeño de los trabajadores de la empresa de Caudales Lima, 2017. La Metodológica aplicada es descriptiva correlacional, no experimental transversal. La población consta de 100 colaboradores, con una muestra de 80 del personal de tripulación. En relación a la técnica e Instrumento se aplicó la recolección de datos de 38 preguntas. La validez se realizó por un juicio de expertos y la confiabilidad por el Rho Spearman el cual se obtuvo como resultado 0.798 de entre Organización del Talento Humano y Evaluación de Desempeño con un nivel de sig. 0.000 dichos datos, indica que existe una correlación alta entre ambas variables. Dando a tallar que si la empresa de caudales encamina y corrige las falencias que existen en la Organización del Talento Humano, la evaluación del personal tendrá un índice de prosperidad

O direito ao esquecimento na perspectiva da ponderação entre direitos fundamentais

Esta monografia tem o objetivo de analisar a aplicação do direito ao esquecimento pelo Poder Judiciário no Brasil, identificando se o instituto tem sido analisado como uma oposição entre Direitos Fundamentais: de um lado, a personalidade e, de outro, a liberdade de expressão e o acesso à informação. Examina-se a hipótese mediante pesquisa bibliográfica, pesquisa comparada e estudo de caso, tendo como parâmetro de análise a doutrina, a legislação, a jurisprudência e os mecanismos de direito comparado. No primeiro capítulo, considerando o contexto da sociedade de informação e os impactos sociais da Internet, são apresentados os direitos de personalidade e os direitos à liberdade de expressão e informação, bem como a origem, a definição conceitual e fundamentos do direito ao esquecimento. No segundo capítulo, são abordados casos paradigmáticos estrangeiros (Gonzáles e Lebach) e nacionais (Chacina da Candelária, Aída Curi e Xuxa Meneghel), destacando-se todos os critérios empregados nos julgamentos. Ao final, a despeito de se delinear uma evolução não linear, confirmou-se que o instituto do “direito ao esquecimento”, sem disciplina expressa no ordenamento jurídico pátrio, tem sido reconhecido judicialmente como instrumento de proteção de direitos da personalidade contra postos à liberdade de expressão, de imprensa e de acesso à informação

Determination of tartaric acid in wines by FIA with tubular tartrate-selective electrodes

A flow injection analysis (FIA) system comprising a tartrate- (TAT) selective electrode has been developed for determination of tartaric acid in wines. Several electrodes constructed for this purpose had a PVC membrane with a complex of quaternary ammonium and TAT as anion exchanger, a phenol derivative as additive, and a more or less polar mediator solvent. Characterization of the electrodes showed behavior was best for membranes with o-nitrophenyl octyl ether as solvent. On injection of 500 μL into a phosphate buffer carrier (pH = 3.1; ionic strength 10–2 mol/L) flowing at 3 mL/min, the slope was 58.06 ± 0.6 with a lower limit of linear range of 5.0 × 10–4 mol/L TAT and R2 = 0.9989. The interference of several species, e.g. chloride, bromide, iodide, nitrate, gallic acid, tannin, sucrose, glucose, fructose, acetate, and citrate, was evaluated in terms of potentiometric selectivity coefficients. The Hofmeister series was followed for inorganic species and the most interfering organic ion was citrate. When red and white wines were analyzed and the results compared with those from an independent method they were found to be accurate, with relative standard deviations below 5.0%

Postpartum contraception

Uma adequada contracepção no puerpério é recomendada para prevenir morbidades maternas e infantis. Os benefícios materno-fetais da lactação são indiscutíveis e a amamentação exclusiva em pacientes amenorréicas é um método contraceptivo eficaz. No entanto, o reinício da fertilidade é variável entre as mulheres e deve-se considerar que o acesso ao serviço de saúde em muitas regiões não é garantido, comprometendo a prescrição de um método eficaz, quando ocorre o retorno dos ciclos ovulatórios. Foram pesquisados no Medline (PubMed) os artigos relacionados ao tema publicados entre 1971 e abril de 2008 e selecionados os artigos relevantes na literatura sobre contracepção no puerpério. Curtos intervalos intergestacionais aumentam complicações maternas e fetais, portanto uma contracepção eficaz no puerpério é imperiosa. O ideal é que o método prescrito seja eficaz e seguro (não interfira na lactação e nem altere o sistema hemostático). Apesar do método contraceptivo da lactação-amenorréia representar um método eficaz de prevenção de gestação, o retorno à fertilidade é impreciso. Em populações de risco para intervalo intergestacional curto e/ou acesso difícil ao serviço de saúde, outros métodos deverão ser associados após seis semanas, como os não hormonais ou os de progestagênios isolados, podendo ser utilizados antes em situações especiais.Adequate postpartum contraception is recommended in order to prevent mother and infant morbidity. The mother-infant benefits of lactation are well recognized, and exclusive, regular and frequent breastfeeding is an effective contraceptive method for amenorrheic patients. However, the resumption of fertility varies among women and access to health services is not guaranteed in many regions of the world. We searched the articles in Medline (PubMed) related to the subject published between 1971 to April 2008 and selected the most relevant articles in the literature about postpartum contraception. Short interpregnancy intervals increase maternal and fetal complications and therefore effective postpartum contraception is imperative. The ideal method prescribed should be effective and safe, id est, should not interfere with lactation or alter the hemostatic system. During the postpartum period, ideally non-hormonal methods should be used because they do not alter lactation or hemostasis. However, in populations with difficult access to health or with an early start of calorie supplementation to the newborn, the option should be for progestogens-only contraceptives, ideally initiated after six weeks or earlier in special situations

Manipulation of the human genome: ethics and law

A biologia molecular tem fornecido as ferramentas básicas para os geneticistas se aprofundarem nos mecanismos moleculares que influem na variação das doenças. Deve-se destacar a responsabilidade científica e moral dos pesquisadores, uma vez que os cientistas devem imaginar as consequências morais da aplicação comercial de testes genéticos, já que esse fato envolve não só o indivíduo e suas famílias, mas toda a população. Além de ser preciso, também, fazer uma reflexão sobre como essas informações do genoma humano serão utilizadas, para o bem ou mal. O objetivo desta revisão foi trazer à luz do conhecimento dados sobre características éticas da aplicação da biologia molecular, relacionando-a com os direitos do ser humano. Após análise bibliográfica, pôde-se observar que o Projeto Genoma Humano gerou várias possibilidades, como identificação de genes associados a doenças com propriedades sinergísticas, mas modificando às vezes comportamentos ao intervir geneticamente no ser humano, trazendo benefícios ou malefícios sociais. O grande desafio é decidir o que a humanidade pretende em relação a este gigantesco salto.The molecular biology has provided the basic tool for geneticists deepening in the molecular mechanisms that influence different diseases. It should be noted the scientific and moral responsibility of the researchers, because the scientists should imagine the moral consequences of the commercial application of genetic tests, since this fact involves not only the individual and their families, but the entire population. Besides being also necessary to make a reflection on how this information from the human genome will be used, for good or bad. The objective of this review was to bring the light of knowledge, data on characteristics of the ethical application of molecular biology, linking it with the rights of human beings. After studying literature, it might be observed that the Human Genome Project has generated several possibilities, such as the identification of genes associated with diseases with synergistic properties, but sometimes modifying behavior to genetically intervene in humans, bringing benefits or social harm. GÊNERO E HISTÓRIA DAS MULHERES: DISPUTAS POLÍTICAS NOS CURRÍCULOS

In the current context of rising reactionary groups, this article brings forth part of the results of a research that investigated how the official curricular documents for Ensino Médio (10th to 12th years of a 12-year education) dealt with gender and women’s history issues. It was observed that in the analyzed material said content was neglected. One possible explanation for this omission is the action of reactionary groups, such as the “Non-partisan Schools” group, in the disputes around curricular provisions. Document analysis was used as research methodology. The theoretical framework draws from gender studies, with emphasis on the fundamentally social, relational, and cultural aspects of differences based on sex. Contributions were also drawn from curriculum studies and history, which grounded the understanding of including women and gender in curricula as a way of challenging the historical knowledge traditionally taught in schools.Diante do contexto atual de ascensão de grupos reacionários, este artigo traz parte dos resultados de uma pesquisa que investigou o tratamento dado às questões de gênero e à história das mulheres nos documentos curriculares oficiais do Ensino Médio. Observou-se que esses conteúdos foram negligenciados no material analisado. Uma das explicações para esse fato é a ação de grupos reacionários como o Escola sem partido no processo de disputa pelas definições curriculares. A metodologia de pesquisa foi a análise documental.
