    Mülteci Eğitiminin Bir Temeli Olarak Kapsayıcı Öğretmen Nitelikleri: Türk Öğretmenlerin Görüşlerine Göre Bir Çerçeve İncelemesi

    The present study aimed to discuss the teacher qualifications necessary to create inclusive education environments towards Syrian students who are under the status of temporary protection and educated in Turkey on the basis of the experiences and views of teachers. In the study, the phenomenological design was preferred as it was attempted to address the concept of inclusiveness specific to refugee students and to make sense of the concept based on the views of active teachers. The data of the study were collected through open-ended questions asked to 90 teachers teaching in classes including Syrian students together with Turkish students and the collected data were analyzed by using content analysis. The findings were reported within the context of 6 categories and 2 themes constructed considering 32 codes and each category was presented together with the related frequencies and percentages. The findings of the study showed that the teacher qualifications deemed to be necessary in refugee education were addressed under the dimensions “activity planning/implementation” and “teacher approach” by the participating teachers. Moreover, it was revealed that teacher qualifications regarding the issues such as knowledge and awareness about, attitude towards and communication with refugee students support the teacher qualifications related to activity planning and implementation. In light of the results of the study, various suggestions were made to develop teacher qualifications within the paradigm of inclusive learning.Bu araştırma, Türkiye’ de öğrenim gören geçici koruma altındaki Suriyeli öğrencilere yönelik kapsayıcı eğitim ortamları oluşturmada gerekli öğretmen niteliklerini yine öğretmenlerin deneyim ve bakış açıları üzerinden tartışmayı amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmada kapsayıcılık kavramının, mülteci öğrenciler özelinde ele alınması ve kapsayıcılığın sahadaki öğretmenlerin görüşlerine göre anlamlandırılması adına olgu bilim yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. Araştırmada veriler mülteci öğrencilerin de içinde bulunduğu sınıflarda görev yapan 90 öğretmenin açık uçlu sorulara verdikleri yanıtlardan elde edilerek, içerik analizi yöntemi ile çözümlenmiştir. Bulgular; 32 kod dikkate alınarak oluşturulan 6 kategori, 2 tema ve her bir kategorinin sahip olduğu frekans ve yüzde değerleri ile birlikte raporlaştırılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, mülteci eğitiminde gerekli öğretmen niteliklerinin katılımcılar tarafından ‘etkinlik planlama/uygulama’ ve ‘öğretmen yaklaşımı’ boyutları altında ele alındığını göstermiştir. Ayrıca mülteci öğrencilerle ilgili bilgi/farkındalık, tutum ve iletişim konularındaki öğretmen niteliklerinin, etkinlik tasarlama ve uygulama niteliklerini desteklediği ortaya çıkmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına dayalı olarak, kapsayıcı öğrenme paradigması içerisinde öğretmen niteliklerini geliştirmek adına çeşitli öneriler sunulmuştur

    Mindfully Aware and Open: Mitigating Subjective and Objective Financial Vulnerability via Mindfulness Practices

    Our research presents mindfulness as a potential intervention to mitigate financial vulnerability, defined as the ability to handle unexpected future financial setbacks. As potential interventions to mitigate consumer financial vulnerability, we provide a conceptual framework on how two types of mindfulness practices (i.e., non-judgmental awareness and openness to experience) can mitigate the subjective and objective financial vulnerability differently. We suggest ways to manipulate the two types of mindfulness and discuss the results of our initial pilot study, focusing on lower-income consumers.     Sütçü sığırlarda Q hummasının seropozitifliği ve eser elementler arasındaki i̇lişkinin araştırılması

    Query fever (Q fever) which is caused by Coxiella burnetii is a continuing problem as a zoonotic disease in the world. In ruminants, infections are mostly asymptomatic however, abortions and stillbirths may occur during late pregnancy. Trace elements are important for the reproductive performance of ruminants and all have roles in immune function. However, serum trace element levels of Coxiella seropositive infertile and healthy dairy cows have not been investigated yet. The present was aimed to evaluate the trace element status of cattle associated with Coxiella burnetii. For this purpose, 200 dairy cattle with and without clinical problems (infertility, metritis and abortion) were compared. Q fever infection was confirmed with ELISA. Levels of trace elements of samples were analysed utilizing inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrophotometer. Serum levels of trace elements of the samples were expressed as μg/mL. In total, 20 of 200 sera were diagnosed to be positive by ELISA. Nine of 20 sera were positive from asymptomatic cattle. Seven of 11 sera were positive from cattle with infertility, while 4 of 11 sera were positive from cattle with abortion. No significant differences were found between trace element levels of ELISA seropositive cattle and asymptomatic seropositive cattle. In conclusion, although statistical analysis of serum trace elements is no significant, our findings clearly show that analysis of trace element levels in cattle may be useful predictors in early treatment and prognosis. Further studies are required to clarify the connection between Coxiella seropositivity, trace elements and clinical symptoms in cattle.Q humması, Coxiella burnetii tarafından oluşturulan ve tüm dünyada devam eden zoonoz bir hastalıktır. Ruminantlarda enfeksiyon genellikle asemptomatik seyretmekte, ancak gebeliğin geç döneminde abort ve ölü doğumlar görülebilmektedir. Eser elementler ruminantlarda üreme performansı ve immün fonksiyon üzerinde önemli rol oynar. Coxiella pozitif olan kısır ve sağlıklı süt ineklerinde serum eser element düzeyleri henüz araştırılmamıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; sığırlarda Coxiella burnetii ile ilişkili serum eser element düzeylerinin değerlendirilmesidir. Bu amaçla klinik olarak hasta olan (infertilite, metritis, abort) ve olmayan süt sığırları karşılaştırıldı. Q ateşi ELISA yöntemiyle teşhis edildi. Eser element seviyelerinin ölçümü, indüktif olarak eşleşmiş plazma-optik emisyon spektrofotometresi kullanılarak gerçekleştirildi. Serum örneklerinden elde edilen sonuçlar μg/mL cinsinden belirtildi. Toplamda 200 örnekten 20 serum ELISA ile pozitif olarak saptandı. Asemptomatik sığırlardan elde edilen 20 serumun 9’u pozitif olarak tespit edildi. Abort yapan sığırlardan elde edilen 11 serumdan 4’ü pozitifken, infertilitesi olan sığırların7’si pozitif olarak belirlendi. ELISA seropozitif ve asemptomatik seropozitif sığırların serum eser element düzeyleri arasında önemli bir farklılık görülmemiştir. Sonuç olarak; serum eser element seviyelerinde istatistiksel olarak önemli bir fark bulunmamasına rağmen çalışmamızda sığırlarda erken tedavi ve prognozun belirlenmesinde eser element analizlerinin kullanışlı bir yöntem olduğu görüldü. Sığırlarda Coxiella seropozitifliği, eser elementler ve klinik semptomlar arasındaki ilişkinin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla daha fazla çalışma yapılması gerektiği düşüncesindeyiz

    Examining the Role of Political Ideology and Moral Attitudes in Shaping Consumer Activism

    In an era of heightened political polarization, understanding the forces that drive consumer activism is more critical than ever. The present research investigates the influence of political ideology and moral convictions on consumer activism behaviors such as boycotting and protesting. Through a series of empirical studies, it examines the roles of moral identity, emotional responses, and contextual factors such as business size and legality of protests in shaping consumer activism. The findings demonstrate that while liberals are traditionally seen as more inclined towards activism, conservatives also engage in activism when their moral norms are threatened. Context significantly influences moral judgments and activism intentions, with liberals maintaining consistent moral convictions regardless of protest legality, while conservatives' reactions are more situational. This research enhances the theoretical framework of moral conviction by integrating emotional responses, showing that both positive sentiments towards victims and negative sentiments towards companies drive activism. Additionally, it offers practical implications for marketers and policymakers to navigate the polarized marketplace and effectively engage with diverse consumer segments. Overall, this research contributes to the theoretical frameworks of moral psychology and consumer behavior, offering valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying consumer activism and the conditions that foster such behaviors

    Investigation of Usability of Sepiolite as a Pozzolan in Production of High Performance Cementitious Composites

    The continuous growth of population and urbanization in the world significantly increases the demand for cement. In terms of sustainability, the cement industry needs to develop new and effective pozzolans with the appropriate recycling of alternative raw materials. It is also important to evaluate sepiolite, which has very limited resources in the world compared to other industrial minerals and whose economic deposits are limited to Spain and Türkiye. In this study, the usability of sepiolite as a pozzolan in cement and its effects on physical, mechanical and durability properties were investigated. First of all, the chemical and physical properties of sepiolite in Eskisehir region were investigated. Crude and ground sepiolite calcined at 500 ºC, 700 ºC and 900ºC were substituted for CEM I 42.5 R class standard Portland cement at 5-10-15% and 20% ratios. The pozzolanic activities of produced sepiolite substituted cement were determined according to ASTM C-311. As a result, crude sepiolite retains more water than calcined sepiolite, thus negatively affecting the strength properties of the concrete. Additionally, sepiolite is considered suspicious (harmful-harmless) in terms of alkali silica reactivity except 10%-15%-20% crude sepiolite substitutions. Overall, It has been observed that sepiolite does not have sufficient pozzolanic properties in cementitious composites

    The technical term GRC (glass fiber reinforced concrete) is widely used in the precast industry. This type of concrete, which is obtained by mixing cement, sand, glass fibers and some chemicals, is very durable. Compared to conventional concretes, high compressive, flexural and impact strength is the preferred choice for building facade coatings. In this paper, the usability of sepiolite as a pozzolan in glass fiber reinforced concrete and its effects on mechanical and physical properties were investigated. GRC samples were produced by adding 3% glass fiber by volume to substituted mixtures. Crude and calcined sepiolites were replaced with cement at 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% by weight. Compressive strength, flexural strength, impact strength and abrasion resistance of produced GRC samples were determined. As a result, It was observed that as sepiolite ratio increased, mechanical and physical properties of samples decreased in early and later ages, and crude sepiolite substituted samples had lower mechanical strength than the calcined sepiolite substituted samples

    Ülkemizde bulunan birçok doğal mineral veya endüstriyel atıkların puzolan olarak kullanılabilmesine yönelikçeşitli araştırmalar yapılmaktadır. İçerisinde yüksek oranda reaktif silisyum oksit barındıran minerallerinpuzolanik potansiyellerinin olduğu bilinmektedir. Sepiyolit, fillosilikatlar (tabakalı silikatlar) grubunda yer alan vemagnezyum hidrosilikattan oluşan kil minerali olup yüzey alanının yüksekliği, lifli bir yapıya sahip olması, kristalmorfolojisi, yüzey aktivitesi, düşük derişimlerde viskozitesi yüksek ve durabiliteli süspansiyonlar oluşturması gibiteknolojik uygulamalarda sorptif, katalitik ve reolojik özelliklerinden dolayı birçok kullanım alanına sahiptir. Buçalışma kapsamında literatürde yapılan çalışmalar incelenmiş ve çimentolu karışımlar içerisine sepiyolit katılmasısonucunda elde edilen karışımların mekanik ve fiziksel özelliklerindeki değişimler araştırılmıştır. Literatürde bualanda yapılan çalışmalar belirli bir sistematik içerisinde incelenmiş ve sepiyolitin çimentolu karışımlardakullanımına yönelik yapılan araştırmalar özetlenmiştir.Various researches are being carried out in order to use many natural minerals or industrial wastes in ourcountry as pozzolan. It is known that minerals involve high amounth of reactive silicium oxide have potential ofbeing puzzolanic. Sepiolite is a clay mineral composed of magnesium hydrosilicatum in the group ofphyllosilicates (layered silicates) and is a clay mineral composed of magnesium hydrosilicite and it has manyusage areas because of its high surface area, a fibrous structure, crystal morphology, surface activity, highviscosity in low concentration and high durability suspensions. In this study, the studies done in the literature havebeen investigated and the changes in the mechanical and physical properties of the substituted mixtures obtainedby adding sepiolite into the cementitious mixtures have been investigated. In the literature, studies conducted inthis area have been studied in a certain systematic way and summarized researches for the use of sepiolite incementitious mixtures
