A method and a tool for geocoding and record linkage

For many years, researchers have presented the geocoding of postal addresses as a challenge. Several research works have been devoted to achieve the geocoding process. This paper presents theoretical and technical aspects for geolocalization, geocoding, and record linkage. It shows possibilities and limitations of existing methods and commercial software identifying areas for further research. In particular, we present a methodology and a computing tool allowing the correction and the geo-coding of mailing addresses. The paper presents two main steps of the methodology. The first preliminary step is addresses correction (addresses matching), while the second caries geocoding of identified addresses. Additionally, we present some results from the processing of real data sets. Diversification of land plants: insights from a family-level phylogenetic analysis

<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Some of the evolutionary history of land plants has been documented based on the fossil record and a few broad-scale phylogenetic analyses, especially focusing on angiosperms and ferns. Here, we reconstructed phylogenetic relationships among all 706 families of land plants using molecular data. We dated the phylogeny using multiple fossils and a molecular clock technique. Applying various tests of diversification that take into account topology, branch length, numbers of extant species as well as extinction, we evaluated diversification rates through time. We also compared these diversification profiles against the distribution of the climate modes of the Phanerozoic.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>We found evidence for the radiations of ferns and mosses in the shadow of angiosperms coinciding with the rather warm Cretaceous global climate. In contrast, gymnosperms and liverworts show a signature of declining diversification rates during geological time periods of cool global climate.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>This broad-scale phylogenetic analysis helps to reveal the successive waves of diversification that made up the diversity of land plants we see today. Both warm temperatures and wet climate may have been necessary for the rise of the diversity under a successive lineage replacement scenario.</p

O programa de educação tutorial: narrativas de egressos da educação física

Analisa as relações estabelecidas com os saberes e os impactos na formação, produzidos nas experiências de alunos egressos de um grupo PET do curso de Educação Física. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa do tipo descritiva-interpretativa, com a teoria da Relação com o Saber e a história cultural, como aporte teórico e de análise. Como fontes, utiliza narrativas de 28 egressos. Possui um roteiro semiestruturado com 11 questões para a produção dos dados. Observamos que o aperfeiçoamento para uma melhor formação acadêmica e a apropriação de conteúdos diversificados e diferentes foram as principais contribuições apontadas pelos entrevistados. Além disso, a qualificação profissional para atuação no campo de trabalho e o relacionamento interpessoal no convívio em grupo também foram captados

Estudiantes del Grado en Educación Física en Brasil: formación, representaciones y relaciones con el saber

Este artigo objetiva analisar as representações que um grupo de alunos de um curso de Bacharelado em Educação Física de uma universidade pública do Brasil possuem sobre a formação que receberam. Fundamenta-se nos preceitos teóricos da Relação com o Saber e das Representações Sociais. Metodologicamente, configura-se como uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa e do tipo descritivo-interpretativa, utilizando, como instrumentos de coleta de dados, um questionário aberto e semiestruturado. Os sujeitos foram 31 discentes do quarto período do curso. Percebeu-se que a maioria dos alunos espera uma graduação com mais conteúdos de teor prático e que eles têm mais facilidade de identificar o que acreditam estar “errado” no curso do que o que está dando “certo”. Além disso, notou-se que é preciso compreender o aluno que está sendo recebido e que talvez o grande desafio do curso, de modo geral, seja de fazer com que eles, com diferentes representações, consigam dar sentido ao que é ensinado e vivenciado na graduação, o que diverge, em muitos casos, das experiências anteriores à entrada na universidade que trazem consigo.This work aims to understand the representations that a group of students who entered a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education in a public university from Brazil have about the training they received. It uses as an instrument of data collection an open and semistructured questionnaire. It works with the theoretical and methodological contribution of the theory of Relation with Knowledge and Social Representations. The participants were 31 students from the fourth period of the course. It was noticed that most students expect an undergraduate course with more practical content and that they find it easier to identify what they believe to be “wrong” in the course than what is working “right”. In addition, it has been observed that it is necessary to understand the students and that perhaps the great challenge of the course, in general, is for students, with different representations, to be able to give meaning to what is taught, which many times diverges, in many cases, from the experiences prior to entering the university that they bring with them.Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar las representaciones que un grupo de estudiantes de un curso de Grado en Educación Física de una universidad pública de Brasil posé sobre la formación que recibieron. Se basa en los preceptos teóricos de la Relación con el Conocimiento y las Representaciones Sociales. Metodológicamente, es una investigación cualitativa y descriptiva-interpretativa, utilizando un cuestionario abierto y semiestructurado como instrumentos de producción de datos. Los participantes fueron 31 alumnos del cuarto período del curso. Se notó que la mayoría de los estudiantes esperan un curso de pregrado con contenido más práctico y que les parece más fácil identificar lo que creen que está "mal" en el curso que lo que está funcionando "bien". Además, se señaló que es necesario comprender al alumno que está siendo recibido y que quizás el mayor desafío del curso, en general, es hacerlos, con diferentes representaciones, capaces de dar sentido a lo enseñado y vivido en la graduación, lo que difiere, en muchos casos, de las experiencias previas al ingreso a la universidad que traen consigo.Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educació
