    The Sudanese Indigenous Model for Conflict Resolution: A case study to examine the relevancy and the applicability of the Judiyya model in restoring peace within the ethnic tribal communities of the Sudan

    This qualitative research case study explored the indigenous model of conflict resolution known as the “Judiyya,” in the South Darfur State, Sudan. The purpose of the study has been to understand the principles and practices of the Judiyya in maintaining peace among Darfuri tribal communities. Judiyya is a community-based, human-centered model that employs restorative and transformative principles in conflict resolution. The literature review provided context for a research project that addressed the following questions: What is the role of the Judiyya in the current situation? How does the model work? What are its decision-making processes? How does the Judiyya model relate to the International Human Rights Standards? The primary data sources include face-to-face interviews, researcher observations, and a review of document collections and archival records. Research findings explore five emergent themes: Religion or belief system, Elderly leadership, Trust, Effectiveness, and Legitimacy. These explain the model’s process and practices and offer to policymakers some new ideas and perspectives about how to understand and use the indigenous model, which is evaluated for strengths and challenges. The model remains relevant and continues to thrive around the greater Darfur area, helping tribal communities maintain harmony, coexistence, and peace. This research contributes to the emerging literature about the relevance of endogenous knowledge and indigenous models of conflict resolution, and the ongoing efforts to better understand the cultural context of conflict and its reconciliation process

    Isolasi dan Uji Kemampuan Rizobakteri Indigenous sebagai Agensia Pengendali Hayati Penyakit pada Tanaman Cabai

    . Sejumlah cendawan patogen merupakan penyebab berbagai penyakit pada tanaman cabai (Capsicum annuum L.). Oleh karena fungisida sintetik berpengaruh negatif terhadap lingkungan, akhir-akhir ini penggunaan mikroorganisme antagonis sebagai agensia alternatif pengendali berbagai jenis patogen tanaman semakin banyak diteliti dan dikembangkan. Jenis mikroorganisme tersebut ialah bakteri rizosfir nonpatogenik yang mengolonisasi perakaran tanaman, dikenal sebagai plant growth promoting rhizobacteria. Berbagai jenis rizobakteri telah banyak digunakan untuk mengendalikan penyakit, di samping untuk memacu pertumbuhan tanaman. Tujuan penelitian ialah mengisolasi rizobakteri indigenous Sulawesi Tenggara dari perakaran tanaman cabai yang dieksplorasi dari Kabupaten Konawe, Konawe Selatan, Kendari, Muna, dan Buton serta menguji kemampuan isolat tersebut untuk menghambat pertumbuhan koloni cendawan patogen (Colletotrichum capsici dan Fusarium oxysporum) di laboratorium. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh 20 isolat rizobakteri indigenous potensial (masing-masing 14 isolat P. fluorescens, dua isolat Serratia spp., dan empat isolat Bacillus spp.). Ke-20 isolat tersebut memiliki kemampuan menghambat pertumbuhan koloni patogen target (C. capsici dan F. oxysporum) dan berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai agensia hayati pada tanaman cabai

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena persaingan yang semakin tinggi antara perguruan tinggi negeri dan perguruan tinggi swasta pasca Perubahan status menjadi BHMN yang kemudian berubah menjadi BLU. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan prinsip-prinsip good university governance terhadap citra serta implikasinya pada peningkatan keunggulan bersaing perguruan tinggi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dan verifikatif dengan metode explanatory survey. Ukuran sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 400 responden yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik sampling systematic random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi kepustakaam, observasi, dan angket. Sedangkan teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis adalah Structural Equation Model (SEM) dengan program Lisrel. Hasil penelitian dan temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Penerapan Good University Governance pada Perguruan Tinggi Negeri yang berstatus BHMN di Jawa Barat masih rendah, (2) Gambaran mengenai citra perguruan tinggi negeri berstatus BHMN di Jawa Barat yang terdiri dari reputation, personality, ethics/value dan corporate identity dinilai masih kurang baik, (3) Gambaran mengenai keunggulan bersaing Perguruan Tinggi negeri berstatus BHMN di Jawa Barat yang terdiri dari dimensi superior asset, superior capabilities dan superior control dinilai lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan Perguruan Tinggi lainnya, (4) Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penerapan Good University Governance yang diterapkan oleh masing-masing perguruan tinggi yang terdiri dari dimensi participation, rule of law, transparency, responsiveness, consensus oriented, equity & inclusiveness, effectiveness&efficiency serta accountability,berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap citra yang meliputi dimensi reputation, personality, ethics/value dan corporate identity, (5) Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penerapan Good university Governance yang diterapkan oleh masing-masing perguruan tinggi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keunggulan bersaing, (6) Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa Citra berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keunggulan bersaing. This research is motivated by the phenomenon of higher competition between public universities and private universities post-change status to BHMN which then turned into a BLU. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the application of the principles of good university governance and its implications on the image of the increase in the college \u27s competitive advantage. This research is descriptive and explanatory survey verification method. The sample size in this study were 400 respondents drawn using systematic random sampling technique sampling. Data was collected through kepustakaam study, observation , and questionnaires. While the data analysis techniques used to test the hypothesis is Structural Equation Model ( SEM ) with Lisrel program. The results of the research and findings of the study indicate that (1) Application of Good University Governance in the Public Universities in West Java BHMN status is low, (2) A description of the image of the state university status in West Java BHMN consisting of reputation , personality , ethics / values and corporate identity still unwell, (3) A description of the country \u27s competitive advantage status BHMN universities in West Java which consists of superior asset dimensions , superior capabilities and superior control was rated lower than other universities, (4) this study showed that the application of the Good University Governance implemented by each college consists of dimensions participation, rule of law, transparency, responsiveness, consensus oriented, equity and inclusiveness, effectiveness and efficiency and accountability , positive and significant effect on the image which includes the dimensions of reputation , personality, ethics/values and corporate identity, (5) this study shows that the implementation of good university governance applied by each college and a significant positive effect on competitive advantage, (6) this study shows that the positive and significant impact image to excellence compete

    The huge development of internet technologies and the widespread of modern and advanced devices lead to an increase in the size and diversity of e-commerce system development. These developments lead to an increase in the number of people that navigate these sites asking for their services and products. Which leads to increased competition in this field. Moreover, the expansion in the size of currency traded makes transaction protection an essential issue in this field. Providing security for each online client especially for a huge number of clients at the same time, causing an overload on the system server. This problem may lead to server deadlock, especially at rush time, which reduce system performance. To solve security and performance problems, this research suggests a prototype design for agent software. This agent will play the role of broker between the clients and the electronic marketplace. This is done by providing security inside the client device and converting the client’s order into a special form which is called a record form to be sent to the commercial website. Experimental results showed that this method increase system performance in terms of page loading time, transaction processing and improves the utilization of system resources

    Modeling of Filtration Process Using PSO-Neural Network

    Modeling of membrane filtration process is a challenging task because it involves many interactions from biological and physical operation behavior. Membrane fouling in filtration process is too complex to understand and to derive a robust model become very difficult. The aim of this paper is to study the potential of neural network based dynamic model for submerged membrane filtration process. The purpose of the model is to represent the dynamic behavior of the filtration process therefore the model can be utilized in the prediction and control. The neural network model was trained using particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique. Three methods of PSO are compared to obtained an optimal model which are random PSO (RPSO), constriction factor PSO (CPSO) and inertia weight PSO (IW-PSO). In the data collection, a random step was applied to the suction pump in order to obtained the permeate flux and transmembrane pressure (TMP) dynamic. The model was evaluated in term of %R2, root mean square error (RMSE,) and mean absolute deviation (MAD). The result of proposed modeling technique showed that the neural network with PSO is capable to model the dynamic behavior of the filtration process

    The Challenge in Diagnosis and Current Treatment of Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension

    Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is currently underdiagnosis and consequently undertreatment in the clinical practice. A deficient in diagnostic modality and treatment availability especially in developing countries makes the CTEPH diagnosis unlikely to confirm. However, high index of clinical suspicion of CTEPH will lead to proper diagnosis and correct treatment  with significant reduction in morbidity and mortality. Left untreated, the mean survival time is 6.8 years and the three year mortality rate may be as high as 90 %. The pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of CTEPH are necessary to be shared among internists and primary care physicians, in order to improve the overall outcome of the patients

    A New Technique for Simulation the Zakharov–Kuznetsov Equation

    In this article, a new technique is proposed to simulated two-dimensional Zakharov–Kuznetsov equation with the initial condition. The idea of this technique is based on Taylors' series in its derivation. Two test problems are presented to illustrate the performance of the new scheme. Analytical approximate solutions that we obtain are compared with variational iteration method (VIM) and homotopy analysis method (HAM). The results show that the new scheme is efficient and better than the other methods in accuracy and convergence
