    Análisis de la uniformidad de riego en sistemas de aspersión semiportátil con aspersores de gran tamaño

    La sostenibilidad en la agricultura de regadío depende en gran medida de conseguir una alta eficiencia de aplicación en el riego. Es muy importante conocer los factores que afectan a la uniformidad de riego, especialmente en aspersores semi-portátiles de gran tamaño, que son un sistema muy común en áreas áridas y semiáridas, como Irán. Hasta el momento, la uniformidad de distribución del agua aplicada no ha sido considerada cuantitativamente en la mayoría de las combinaciones de variables hidráulicas y meteorológicas con aspersores portátiles de gran tamaño. En este trabajo, se ha caracterizado el coeficiente de uniformidad (CU) analizando la influencia de los principales factores que le afectan, como la velocidad del viento (W), la presión de trabajo (P) y el marco de riego. Los ensayos de campo se realizaron con un solo aspersor al aire libre. Se aprecia un efecto significativo del viento, como parámetro meteorológico, sobre el CU bajo diferentes condiciones climáticas, en relación a la presión y la separación entre aspersores. Este comportamiento es muy similar al obtenido con aspersores de tamaño medio. Los criterios técnicos propuestos en los resultados se pueden utilizar para optimizar la gestión del riego por aspersión de acuerdo con factores de diseño adecuados para una amplia gama de condiciones climáticas y presión (es decir 450 y 500 kPa). Así, la relación entre la separación entre aspersores y el radio mojado no debe superar los 0,45 con el fin de alcanzar el coeficiente de diseño de uniformidad aceptable (80%) bajo condiciones de viento (>2 m s -1 ) en el sistema de riego

    We show that the Unruh effect can create net quantum entanglement between inertial and accelerated observers depending on the choice of the inertial state.     Calculations of Some Doping Nanostructurations and Patterns Improving the Functionality of High-Temperature Superconductors for Bolometer Device Applications

    We calculate the effects of doping nanostructuration and the patterning of thin films of high-temperature superconductors (HTS) with the aim of optimizing their functionality as sensing materials for resistive transition-edge bolometer devices (TES). We focus, in particular, on spatial variations of the carrier doping into the CuO2 layers due to oxygen off-stoichiometry, (that induce, in turn, critical temperature variations) and explore following two major cases of such structurations: First, the random nanoscale disorder intrinsically associated to doping levels that do not maximize the superconducting critical temperature; our studies suggest that this first simple structuration already improves some of the bolometric operational parameters with respect to the conventional, nonstructured HTS materials used until now. Secondly, we consider the imposition of regular arrangements of zones with different nominal doping levels (patterning); we find that such regular patterns may improve the bolometer performance even further. We find one design that improves, with respect to nonstructured HTS materials, both the saturation power and the operating temperature width by more than one order of magnitude.     Protective role of mindfulness, self-compassion and psychological flexibility on the burnout subtypes among psychology and nursing undergraduate students

    Aims: To explore the relationship between mindfulness, self-compassion and psychological flexibility, and the burnout subtypes in university students of the Psychology and Nursing degrees, and to analyse possible risk factors for developing burnout among socio-demographic and studies-related characteristics. Design: Cross-sectional study conducted on a sample of 644 undergraduate students of Nursing and Psychology from two Spanish universities. Methods: The study was conducted between December 2015 and May 2016. Bivariate Pearson''s correlations were computed to analyse the association between mindfulness facets, self-compassion and psychological flexibility, and levels of burnout. Multivariate linear regression models and bivariate and multivariate binary logistic regressions were also computed. Results: The three subtypes of burnout presented significant correlations with psychological flexibility, self-compassion and some mindfulness facets. Psychological flexibility, self-compassion and the mindfulness facets of observing and acting with awareness were significantly associated to burnout. Among the risk factors, ‘year of study’ was the only variable to show significantly higher risk for every burnout subtype. Conclusion: The significant associations found between mindfulness, self-compassion, psychological flexibility and burnout levels underline the need of including these variables as therapeutic targets when addressing the burnout syndrome in university students. Impact. Undergraduate students, especially those of health sciences, often experience burnout. This study delves into the protective role of some psychological variables: mindfulness, self-compassion and psychological flexibility. These should be considered as potentially protective skills for developing burnout, and therefore, undergraduate students could be trained on these abilities to face their studies and their future profession to prevent experiencing burnout syndrome. © 2021 John Wiley & Sons Lt

    Retinal pigment epithelium degeneration caused by aggregation of PRPF31 and the role of HSP70 family of proteins

    Background Mutations in pre-mRNA splicing factor PRPF31 can lead to retinitis pigmentosa (RP). Although the exact disease mechanism remains unknown, it has been hypothesized that haploinsufficiency might be involved in the pathophysiology of the disease. Methods In this study, we have analyzed a mouse model containing the p.A216P mutation in Prpf31 gene. Results We found that mutant Prpf31 protein produces cytoplasmic aggregates in the retinal pigment epithelium and decreasing the protein levels of this splicing factor in the nucleus. Additionally, normal protein was recruited in insoluble aggregates when the mutant protein was overexpressed in vitro. In response to protein aggregation, Hspa4l is overexpressed. This member of the HSP70 family of chaperones might contribute to the correct folding and solubilization of the mutant protein, allowing its translocation to the nucleus. Conclusions Our data suggests that a mechanism haploinsufficiency and dominant-negative is involved in retinal degeneration due to mutations in PRPF31.
