    HIGHER VARIABILITY IN DYADIC INTERACTION PLAYS A POSITIVE ROLE IN THE DECISION MAKING OF FUTSAL PASSING

    This study investigated the role the dyadic interaction variability plays in influencing decision making on passing in the sport of futsal. Participants were 40 male students (M = 13.6 years, SD = 0.7) from physical education classes of a Brazilian school. They were randomly divided into eight teams, which played four games of 24 minutes according to the rules of the under-14 category of the local Futsal Federation. From the games, a sample of 80 sequences of play involving passes were randomly selected, from the moment the ball carrier got possession of the ball until the moment he passed it. From the x and y coordinates of all outfield players’ displacement, variability of running correlation, cross-correlation, centroid and interpersonal distance were calculated as measures of dyadic interaction. Results showed that the interaction of passer and receiver dyads were more variable than the remaining dyads. Moreover, it was verified that passer dyad had the highest variability. The findings enabled us to conclude that, from the attackers’ point of view, variability played a positive role. In addition, it appeared that the passer sought to disrupt the interaction with his defender to perform the pass more than his teammates did to receive it. It appears that the skills of passing and receiving in the sport of futsal imply the ability to vary.</p

    PERCEPTIONS OF POSTPARTUM WOMEN ABOUT EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES DEVELOPED IN A NORMAL BIRTH CENTER: A DESCRIPTIVE-EXPLORATORY STUDY

    Objective: to understand the meanings of postpartum women about the educational practices developed in a Normal Birth Center.Method: descriptive-exploratory study, of qualitative approach, with 15 postpartum women assisted at the Haydeê Pereira Sena Normal Childbirth Center, in the metropolitan region of Pará, Brazil. Semi structured interviews were used from August to November 2020. Data were transcribed and submitted to content analysis in the thematic modality.Results: it was found that the activities developed by the nurse midwives promote a link to the visibility of the site as a service that seeks to welcome and support women, ensuring greater tranquility, confidence, and respect at the time of birth.Conclusion: the results translate the need to encourage educational practices to ensure rights and respect for women, such as quality assistance, a welcoming environment, aggregating tranquility, and confidence for normal birth. Thus, it contributes effectively to the practice of obstetric nursing with direct impact on the care of women and families

    The influence of defender’s positional gap on the aces in the sport of volleyball

    This study aimed to investigate the influence of the defending players' positioning on the service outcomes. Thirty-nine sequences of play involving serves were selected from nine games of a Professional Championship of volleyball held in Brazil. They characterized three main situations: (a) aces (serves that the ball hit the ground of the opponent's court without being touched by any defending player) (n = 13), (b) serves which a defending player touched the ball but there was no continuity in the rally (n = 13), and (c) serves received successfully, that is, a defender received the ball and made possible the continuity of the rally (n = 13). These situations were compared by considering the following variables: (1) defender’s distance to the place of serve finalization, (2) velocity of defender's displacement to the place of serve finalization; (3) variability of defending player’s displacement; and, (4) serve velocity. Results showed that the defender’s distance to the place of serve finalization in the aces were greater than in the both other situations. The findings allowed us to conclude that in competitive performances in the sport of volleyball, the defender’s distance to the place of serve finalization determined the service outcomes.This work was supported by the Capes Foundation, Ministry of Education of Brazil, awarded to the first author

    The concept of professional qualification is in evidence in the civil construction scenario. It is a notorious concern, given that for a long time companies have preferred to hire professionals with low qualifications, due to their low wage expectations. According to Globaltec (2017), more than 70% of the companies linked to civil construction find obstacles to hire trained professionals. In this perspective, university programs aimed at training the labor force in this market are erupting, in order to contribute to minimizing that deficit, which is still a reality in the country. Construção+ is a program that combines teaching, research and extension, being developed in the city of Teófilo Otoni, in Minas Gerais. It proposes as its primary objective the requalification of the civil construction workforce by means of the provision of free theoretical and practical classes. In addition to the technical approach regarding the everyday subjects of the professionals enrolled in the courses, the aim is to promote exchange of experiences which are able to enhance the practical knowledge of the course participants, as well as the theoretical basis of the facilitators. These exchanges often occur by means of information from executive procedures at the construction site and the emergence of new methodologies in the construction sector.O conceito de qualificação profissional está em evidência no cenário da construção civil. É preocupação notória, tendo em vista que durante muito tempo houve preferência das empresas pela contratação de profissionais com pouca qualificação por apresentarem baixa pretensão salarial. De acordo com a Globaltec (2017), mais de 70% das empresas vinculadas à construção civil encontram entraves que dificultam a contratação de profissionais capacitados para a execução de suas obras. Nesta perspectiva, irrompem programas universitários direcionados à capacitação da mão de obra deste mercado, com o intuito de contribuir para minimização deste déficit, que ainda é realidade no país. O Construção+ é um programa que alia ensino, pesquisa e extensão, desenvolvido na cidade de Teófilo Otoni, em Minas Gerais. Propõe como seu objetivo primordial a requalificação da mão de obra da construção civil da região por meio do fornecimento de aulas teóricas e práticas gratuitas. Além da abordagem técnica a respeito de temas do cotidiano dos profissionais inscritos nos cursos, busca-se promover a troca de experiências que sejam enriquecedoras do conhecimento prático dos cursistas, bem como o embasamento teórico dos facilitadores. Essas trocas ocorrem, muitas vezes, por meio de informações de procedimentos executivos no canteiro de obras e no surgimento de novas metodologias no setor da construção civil

    Detection and partial molecular characterization of a Badnavirus isolate in Brazil / Detecção e caracterização molecular parcial de um isolado de Badnavírus no Brasil

    A batata doce é um dos vegetais mais importantes do mundo, sendo uma das principais fontes de nutrientes em alguns países. Apesar de ser considerada uma planta resistente, hospeda vários patógenos, principalmente vírus. Anteriormente, a maioria dos vírus relatados na colheita tinha um genoma composto por RNA, no entanto, nos últimos anos, os vírus de DNA se destacaram. Entre eles estão as espécies pertencentes ao gênero Badnavirus (família Caulimoviridae). Portanto, o objetivo do presente estudo foi identificar a presença de espécies virais pertencentes ao gênero Badnavirus em amostras de folhas de batata-doce coletadas nas principais regiões produtoras da cidade de Pelotas - RS. Através da amplificação por PCR, foi possível detectar 48 amostras positivas entre as 303 amostras testadas, utilizando iniciadores degenerados e específicos para espécies do gênero. Uma amostra foi escolhida e usada para análise com outros pares de iniciadores específicos, a fim de obter sequências genômicas. No entanto, não foi possível obter a sequência completa do genoma, apenas parcial. Os fragmentos gerados mostraram uma identidade entre 72 a 87% quando comparados ao genoma completo dos isolados SPV-A (FJ560943.2) e SPV-B (FJ560944.1), demonstrando a grande variabilidade existente entre eles. Além disso, serão realizados estudos para obter a sequência completa do genoma, para entender melhor a ação do vírus na planta
