Wide band energy analysis of fluidized bed pressure fluctuation signals using a frequency division method

A statistical method based on approximation of the cumulative energy distribution by Student's t-distribution is proposed for the unbiased frequency domain division. The proposed method fixes the number of samples needed to estimate the power spectrum and its corresponding cumulative energy distribution using the Kolmogorov&-Smirnov test. The reliability of the method to divide the frequency domain was shown for different fluidization velocities by changing the bed aspect ratio and using different pressure probes. Water-induced defluidization tests were conducted to illustrate the use of wide band energy as a monitoring tool. The Student's t-distribution results are compared with an analysis performed using the traditional visual inspection method. The energy of the power spectrum contained within the frequency regions obtained by the visual method is not able to detect changes in the bed aspect ratio or the start of the rotating distributor. No meaningful differences could be observed in the frequency regions using different quality pressure sensors because the approach using Student's t-distribution focuses on the sharp energy increase produced by the primary frequencies of the power spectrum. La naturalesa dels seus esforços unida a la seva organització durant el joc, fa que el jugador de futbol hagi de ser entrenat per suportar càrregues de treball intenses i de durada curta, que es repeteixen de forma anàrquica durant la competició. El nostre article pretén d’establir la importància d’aquest entrenament específic en el futbol, la seva forma d’organitzar-lo, així com establir els controls oportuns per determinar el nivell d’aquesta qualitat complexa. Nuestro artículo pretende establecer la importancia de este entrenamiento específico en el fútbol, su forma de organizarlo, así como establecer los controles oportunos para determinar el nivel de esta cualidad compleja. Relación de pareja y sintomatología depresiva de la mujer: implicaciones clínicas desde una perspectiva de género

Este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación con una muestra de mujeres casadas y con hijos (un grupo control y un grupo de pacientes depresivas). Se evaluó en ambos grupos y en la muestra global la asociación entre la intimidad y distintos aspectos del poder en la pareja, por un lado, con el nivel de satisfacción marital y el nivel de sintomatología depresiva, teniendo en cuenta también la influencia de otras variables psicosociales habitualmente vinculadas a la depresión. Los resultados muestran la relevancia del grado de intimidad y de todos los aspectos referentes al poder en la relación (recursos educativos y laborales, estrategias de comunicación, reparto de tareas y decisiones y grado de equidad o igualdad) a la hora de explicar las vivencias depresivas de las mujeres. Finalmente se exponen las implicaciones clínicas de estos resultados para el trabajo psicoterapéutico con mujeres o con parejas.This article presents a research conducted with a Spanish sample of married women with children (divided into a community group and a clinical group of depressed patients). The goal of the research was to evaluate in the global sample and in both groups the association between marital intimacy and several aspects of marital power, on one hand, with the level of marital adjustment and depressive symptomatology. Several psychosocial variables usually associated with depressive symptomatology were also assessed. The results establish a strong and significant association between the level of intimacy and the different aspects of marital power (educational and economic resources, communication strategies, the division of tasks and decision making, and the degree of equity and equality) with the depressive symptomatology of women. Clinical implications for individual or couples psychotherapy are drawn from these results

La experiencia como base de los procesos de generación de valor: un análisis longitudinal en el sector del turismo de nieve

El presente trabajo en curso conjuga contribuciones de la literatura de la experiencia y de la lógica de servicio para desarrollar un modelo teórico que establezca la importancia de la experiencia en los procesos de generación de valor en el ámbito turístico. El objetivo del estudio es la conceptualización multidimensional de la experiencia, estableciendo su relación con el valor y aplicando un enfoque longitudinal para profundizar en el conocimiento de la naturaleza dinámica de dicha relación. En un futuro, se espera validar el modelo propuesto en el ámbito turístico y testar la relación experiencia-valor durante el pre-consumo, consumo y post-consumo de un servicio turístico. Los resultados esperados permitirán establecer las pautas para una óptima gestión global de las experiencias en las organizaciones, enfocada a la maximización del valor acumulado para el cliente de manera longitudinal.This study uses insights from current research in the experience economy and service logic to develop a theoretical model establishing the importance of experience in value generation processes in the tourism sphere. The aim of the study is to give a multidimensional coneptualization that defines what experience is, explaining relationship between experience and value generation and applying a longitudinal approach. Validation of the proposed model willl be carried out in a tourism service context, testing the role of experience in value generation processes during pre-consumption, consumption and post-consumption phases. Findings from this study will allow practitioners to establish a guideline for customer experience management that leads companies to maximize customer value through different consumption phases

Impact of suborbital climate changes in the North Atlantic on ice sheet dynamics at the Mid-Pleistocene Transition

Early and Mid-Pleistocene climate, ocean hydrography and ice sheet dynamics have been reconstructed using a high-resolution data set (planktonic and benthic delta O-18 time series, faunal-based sea surface temperature (SST) reconstructions and ice-rafted debris (IRD)) record from a high-deposition-rate sedimentary succession recovered at the Gardar Drift formation in the subpolar North Atlantic (Integrated Ocean Drilling Program Leg 306, Site U1314). Our sedimentary record spans from late in Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 31 to MIS 19 (1069-779 ka). Different trends of the benthic and planktonic oxygen isotopes, SST and IRD records before and after MIS 25 (similar to 940 ka) evidence the large increase in Northern Hemisphere ice-volume, linked to the cyclicity change from the 41-kyr to the 100-kyr that occurred during the Mid-Pleistocene Transition (MPT). Beside longer glacial-interglacial (G-IG) variability, millennial-scale fluctuations were a pervasive feature across our study. Negative excursions in the benthic delta O-18 time series observed at the times of IRD events may be related to glacio-eustatic changes due to ice sheets retreats and/or to changes in deep hydrography. Time series analysis on surface water proxies (IRD, SST and planktonic delta O-18) of the interval between MIS 31 to MIS 26 shows that the timing of these millennial-scale climate changes are related to half-precessional (10 kyr) components of the insolation forcing, which are interpreted as cross-equatorial heat transport toward high latitudes during both equinox insolation maxima at the equator

Since companies are the bases of the economy in Mexico, there is an increased interest on the part of the government to boost their growth through various programs, but the increased international competition, mergers, acquisitions and recurring economic crises, give rise to a social and economic phenomenon that is repeated on a daily basis: "unemployment". To offset this problem, it is necessary to implement Outplacement programs that Mexican companies can follow internally and a solid strategy for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which would be designed to restrain the periods of work cutback and minimize the psychological and social impact on those affected.
