Los dispositivos que ofrecen acceso inalámbrico a servicios de red exigen un constante seguimiento por parte de profesionales en redes para garantizar su correcta operación, en este documento se presenta el diseño y desarrollo del conjunto de componentes que facilitan las funciones de monitoreo de dispositivos de red para garantizar al usuario una adecuada experiencia de navegación desde clientes inalámbricos. El estado del dispositivo que provee servicios de navegación es monitoreado mediante agentes que registran los eventos de interés y envían la información al módulo de gestión el cual permite la interacción mediante interfaces y protocolos Web, liberando al administrador de las tareas de revisión presencial de cada uno de los dispositivos instalados

Effect of a calcified-seaweed extract as rumen buffer on ruminal disappearance and fermentation in steers

The effects of ruminal buffers (salt, weak acid, oxide or hydroxide) able to neutralize acids and reduce drastic changes of rumen pH (Staples and Lough 1989) were variable, mostly due to the wide variety of conditions in which these were tested (Erdman 1988). Rumen buffers seem to improve feed efficiency of ruminants fed diets with highgrain concentration (Kennelly et al. 1999). Influence of calcium propionate on in vitro fermentation of sorghum-based diets

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of calcium propionate (CaPr) on in vitro ruminal fermentation using a factorial arrangement 2 x 2 evaluating CaPr (0 vs. 1%) and grain level (55 vs. 65%). There was a CaPr x Grain interaction in the volume of gas produced (V; p = 0.04). Addition of CaPr prolonged Lag time (1.4 vs. 1.04 h; P<0.01), and increasing the grain level also prolonged Lag time (1.56 vs. 0.89 h; p < 0.03) and gas production rate (0.046 vs. 0.041 h-1; P<0.04). However, there were no differences in CH 4 , CO 2 , acetate, propionate and butyrate concentrations. Therefore, the addition of calcium propionate in a diet with 55 or 66% of grain increased Lag phase but it is not affected fermentation pattern or methane losses

Opportunistic infections in immunosuppressed patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis: analysis by the Pharmachild Safety Adjudication Committee

Background To derive a list of opportunistic infections (OI) through the analysis of the juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) patients in the Pharmachild registry by an independent Safety Adjudication Committee (SAC). Methods The SAC (3 pediatric rheumatologists and 2 pediatric infectious disease specialists) elaborated and approved by consensus a provisional list of OI for use in JIA. Through a 5 step-procedure, all the severe and serious infections, classified as per MedDRA dictionary and retrieved in the Pharmachild registry, were evaluated by the SAC by answering six questions and adjudicated with the agreement of 3/5 specialists. A final evidence-based list of OI resulted by matching the adjudicated infections with the provisional list of OI. Results A total of 772 infectious events in 572 eligible patients, of which 335 serious/severe/very severe non-OI and 437 OI (any intensity/severity), according to the provisional list, were retrieved. Six hundred eighty-two of 772 (88.3%) were adjudicated as infections, of them 603/682 (88.4%) as common and 119/682 (17.4%) as OI by the SAC. Matching these 119 opportunistic events with the provisional list, 106 were confirmed by the SAC as OI, and among them infections by herpes viruses were the most frequent (68%), followed by tuberculosis (27.4%). The remaining events were divided in the groups of non-OI and possible/patient and/or pathogen-related OI. Conclusions We found a significant number of OI in JIA patients on immunosuppressive therapy. The proposed list of OI, created by consensus and validated in the Pharmachild cohort, could facilitate comparison among future pharmacovigilance studies
