A STUDY OF LENGTH SCRATCH VARIATIONS ON MULTIMODE OPTICAL FIBER (FOM) FOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR

    Get PDF
The research has done by using length scratch variations on the fiber optic multimode (FOM) with the intention of temperature sensor. The length scratch variations which have conducted were 5 centimeter and 7 centimeter. Some variations such length scratches would be seen by using FOM sensitivity which have sufficed temperature sensor specification. This experiment was began thought applying voltage of 12 volt from power supply to the sensor BF5RD-1-N Fiber Optic Amplifier. As per the sensor which has been resulted by laser beam. It would be transmitted to the FOM and it would be accepted again by the certain sensor which has a function as a receiver such voltage ration (dB). According to the voltage ratio, it would be calibrated with the specific temperature by using thermometer. As per the experiment, the research pointed out that there is a correlation between dB which has received by sensor and temperature’s alterations from FOM. The result of the experiment found out that if scratches become bigger from the FOM, it would make voltage ratio becomes fewer. The FOM’s linearity which has pointed out such as 0,996 and 0,989 for 5 centimeter and 0,996 and 0,965 for 7 centimeter. It can be concluded that the FOM’s sensitivity which compatible with temperature sensor is scratch along 5 centimeter

The effects of different volumes of dynamic stretching on 20-M repeated sprint ability performance

The purpose of this within-subjects counterbalanced design study is to elucidate the effects of different volumes of dynamic stretching on Repeated Sprint Ability (RSA) performance. Thirteen male team sport athletes perfromed a repeated sprint ability test consisting of a maximal 6 x 20 meter sprint (with 30s active recovery between each sprint) following different volumes of dynamic stretching (DSS1, DSS2 and DSS3). The results showed no significant difference for all parameters between all the all dynamic stretching volumes. Results show that any of the dynamic stretching volumes may be used as a warm up prior to the repeated sprints session. However, DSS1 confers some advantage in terms of lesser times, though not statistically significant for BST, MST and TSTKeywords: fatigue; set; repetition; specific warm-up; recovery

This study aims to see the reading habbit of lecturer at the Faculty of Humanities University of Lancang Kuning. Data collected by questionnaire that filled by 23 lecturers. Result shown that most of them likes reading. They have a different of type, subject, language, and format collections that they read. But unfortunately, the reading habbits is inversely with library visiting. Data shown that they did not like to visiting the library, especially FIB Unilak Library

Compressibility and permeability of solidified dredged marine soils (DMS) with the addition of cement andor waste granular materials (WGM)

Dredged marine soils that obtained from dredging work were characterize as geo-waste, which is prone to be dumped rather than to be reused. This type of soil is high in compressibility and low in load bearing capacity. The engineering properties of this soft soil can be improve via soil solidification method. Cement is the common hydraulic binder used in soil solidification, were found to generate the emission of greenhouse gasses (GHG), particularly carbon dioxide (CO2) which also had affected the earth’s atmosphere. Therefore, there has been an increasing interest in using alternate pozzolanic materials such as waste granular materials (WGM) to fully or partially substituted the use of cement in soil solidification. WGM such as coal bottom ash (BA) and palm oil clinker (POC) were opted due to its pozzolanic properties. Prior to the planning of reclamation work using DMS admixed with conventional and/or alternate pozzolanic materials, the consolidation characteristics of the admixed materials must be acknowledged. Hence, the present study will examine the amount of settlement and coefficient of permeability (k) of DMS treated with cement and/or WGM in laboratory-scale experiments. Samples were prepared in various proportion in order to examine the individual effect of the cement and/or alternate pozzolanic materials on compressibility and permeability. For cement-admixed DMS, sample with 20 % of cement have significantly reduced the settlement than untreated and 10 % cemented DMS. For WGM-admixed DMS, the initial void ratio is low as compared to the untreated DMS due to the rearrangement of soil particles, which is densely packed. For cement-WGM-admixed DMS, samples of 15C50BA and 15C50POC displayed significant settlement reduction than 10C100BA, 10C100POC and untreated samples

This research aims to control household electrical devices using Internet of things (IoT) technology, where the electrical device will be controlled using a smartphone, making it easier for user when controlling electrical devices. The type of study conducted is research and development (R&D), which develops an electrical device control system using the prototype development method. The results showed that in this system, users could control electrical devices anytime and anywhere without space and time restrictions by using two ways, namely using google assistant voice commands and virtual buttons contained in Blynk applications. Google Assistant voice command mode works based on voice commands inputted through google assistant received by Blynk application, and nodemcu will respond to the management, then the relay will execute orders based on commands inputted through google assistant to turn on and off the power device. Virtual button mode is a mode where we control the electric device using the virtual button in the blynk application, then the nodemcu will respond to the command from blynk, and the relay will execute the order to control the power device.

Subject indexing is one of the core activities in the processing of library collections. IbM aims to refresh and improve their knowledge and ability librarians within Unilak in the process of indexing the subject. This activity is carried out in several stages of activity. The first stage of the indexing phase refresher basic concepts of the subject. The second stage is a refresher on the types of concepts. The third stage is a refresher on the type of subject. The fourth stage is a refresher on the subject code. The fifth stage is the stage of determining the subject practices. The last stage is the stage of evaluation and motivation. Analysis of the pretest and posttest showed that there is an increase in the ability of the participants in terms of subject indexing of library collections
