Indicadores altmétricos y de citación en la producción científica en ScienceOpen: estudio descriptivo para Brasil, España y Portugal.

Objective. To describe evidences of certain bibliographic issues and their influence on altmetrics and bibliometrics indicators, considering a set of Brazilian, Spanish and Portuguese articles. Design/Methodology/Approach. From an exploratory approach, a total of 133 articles, available in ScienceOpenand best-positioned from the altmetrics counts, have been analyzed according to characteristics as publication date, authorship and collaboration, subject area, language, number of citations and, finally, altmetrics values derived from altmetric attention scores and mentions collected by Altmetric. Results/Discussion. Data show differences among countries regarding some issues —for example, number of authors by article, or language of publication— for the best-positioned articles in altmetrics rankings. For the whole sample, it is remarkable that more recent articles obtain more mentions and shared authorship is usual. Conclusions. Altmetrics evaluate visibility and reception of academic articles in web and social media, so they enrich citation data and extend the scope of the scientific production beyond the academic community. It is required to study and understand the social impact of science and to identify which elements of the publication process have direct influences over the popularization of scientific research. Originality/Value. Besides of dealing with a sample of Ibero-american articles, usually underrepresented in bibliometric databases, this study emphasizes the complementary role of the different dimensions that have to be taken into account in scientific communication

Recursos da Web 2.0 e suas contribuições na prática pedagógica do ensino de Biblioteconomia

Discuss about the use of web 2.0 resources in teaching practice to support the process of teaching/learning. We report the experience developed during the "Informatics applied to librarianship II" discipline of the University Federal de Alagoas (UFAL) Librarianship Course, during the first half of 2011. The aim was to analyze the possibility of using web 2.0 resources as methodological contributions to that discipline. It was created a hastag for monitoring and discussion of the subject on Twitter. Through manual search in Twitter itself and use the Topsy Platform it was monitored 514 messages shared by students and teacher. Examines the participation and engagement of students in the discipline through: the distribution of messages per month, day of week and time of day; interactivity, seen from the mentions, replies and retweets. The results are a distributive and continuous learning in which the topics discussed overcomes the space-time limitations of the classroom, with active involvement and autonomy exercise  by the students.aborda utilização de recursos da web 2.0 na prática pedagógica no apoio ao processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Relata a experiência desenvolvida durante a realização da disciplina “Informática aplicada à Biblioteconomia II” do curso de Biblioteconomia da Universidade Federal de Alagoas (UFAL) durante o primeiro semestre do ano de 2011. O objetivo foi analisar a possibilidade de se utilizar recursos da web 2.0 como aportes metodológicos ao ensino da disciplina. Foi criada uma hastag para o acompanhamento e discussão da disciplina no Twitter. Por meio de busca manual no próprio Twitter e uso da Plataforma Topsy monitorou-se 514 mensagens compartilhadas pelos alunos e professor. Analisa a participação e engajamento dos alunos na disciplina por meio: da distribuição das mensagens por mês, dia da semana e horário do dia; da interatividade, verificada a partir dos mentions, replies, e retweets. Como resultado verificou-se uma aprendizagem distributiva e contínua na qual o assunto discutido ultrapassa as limitações espaço-temporal da sala de aula, com envolvimento ativo e exercício da autonomia por parte dos alunos

O GEOGEBRA COMO RECURSO PARA O ESTUDO DE OBJETOS ESTATÍSTICOS: REFLEXÕES A PARTIR DE UM PERCURSO INVESTIGATIVO EM DESENVOLVIMENTO

Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar reflexões de uma investigação em desenvolvimento, sobre o estudo de objetos estatísticos mediados pelo GeoGebra. A utilização de recursos tecnológicos para o ensino e a aprendizagem, que têm possibilitado o acesso a recursos favoráveis à construção de conhecimentos, é situado o ensino de estatística, considerando o aspecto curricular, que se refere aos recursos tecnológicos como um meio para o ensino de objetos de conhecimento e sua utilização está direcionada para o desenvolvimento de habilidades relativas a esses objetos de conhecimento. Sob uma perspectiva das abordagens de ensino, este relatório aponta para o Instrucionismo e o Construcionismo, como abordagens que podem direcionar para qual relação o estudo utilizando tecnologias pode favorecer. Atendendo a uma demanda curricular, a de promover o ensino da estatística, nas escolhas metodológicas deste percurso de investigação, há uma sinalização para a proposição de atividades que sejam desenvolvidas a partir de conhecimentos preliminares, sob análises a priori, para que, além da aplicação, seja possível tecer análises a posteriori dessas atividades. Na utilização dos recursos tecnológicos como suporte, a discussão se aporta no GeoGebra que, por meio de suas múltiplas janelas de representações de dados, emerge com uma vantagem didática ao ensino da estatística. Os resultados obtidos evidenciam que, a respeito da vantagem didática, um aspecto a se considerar é que as representações dos dados contribuem no poder de argumento acerca do objeto de estudo, isso tem a ver com as propriedades desse objeto e sua relação com os dados de origem em uma situação didática

Um Estudo Hermenêutico-Fenomenológico do texto A Origem da Geometria de Edmund Husserl

This research intends to annex III - whose title is The Origin of Geometry - of the work The Crisis of European Sciences and Transcendental Phenomenology: An Introduction to Phenomenological Philosophy, by Edmund Husserl. Its objective is to explain the pre-scientific in the text The Origin of Geometry, showing how the first geometrists mobilized it for the constitution of geometric idealities; and, in order to accomplish this task, one wonders how the pre-scientific unveiling occurs in the text The Origin of Geometry. In order to constitute the research data, the hermeneutic-phenomenological method is used, seeking to understand the expression in written language with what was shown in the historical encounter between the work and its interpreters. In this movement of understanding, everything that was previously known about the phenomenon is put into epoché, so as not to let the investigating gaze predicate the phenomenon. In the final part of the work, Metacomprehension of the Phenomenon, it explains and articulates with other authors the hermeneutics about the concepts of origin, history, community, language, ideality, among others. As a result of the investigation, it was shown that to unveil the pre-scientific, previous act to the geometric configurations ideas, the imaginative variation articulated to history is mobilized as a movement of spiritual achievements; such realization is understood as “origin”. Also, it takes into account the function of language and intropathy, as well as the fundamental subjectivity/intersubjectivity/objectivity movement for the constitution of ideals. Thus, an a priori of the historical world was presented as a world of things, but not only, whose materials belonging to it served as the basis for the first geometric configurations. The life world is also explained as a foundation of meaning for all sciences that deal with pure space-temporality, taking Geometry in an exemplary sense.Esta pesquisa intenciona o anexo III – cujo título é A Origem da Geometria - da obra A Crise das Ciências Europeias e a Fenomenologia Transcendental: Uma Introdução à Filosofia Fenomenológica, de Edmund Husserl. Tem por objetivo explicitar o pré-científico no texto A Origem da Geometria, evidenciando como os primeiros geômetras o mobilizavam para a constituição das idealidades geométricas; e, para dar conta de realizar essa tarefa, interroga-se como acontece o desvelamento do pré-científico no texto A Origem da Geometria. Para constituir os dados de pesquisa valeu-se do método hermenêutico-fenomenológico, buscando compreender o expresso em linguagem escrita com o que se mostrou do encontro histórico entre a obra e os seus intérpretes. Nesse movimento de compreensão coloca-se em epoché tudo aquilo que previamente se conhece do fenômeno, para não deixar que o olhar investigador predicasse o fenômeno. Na parte final do trabalho, Metacompreensão do Fenômeno, explicita-se e articula com outros autores a hermenêutica acerca dos conceitos origem, história, comunidade, linguagem, idealidade entre outros. Como resultado da investigação, mostrou-se que para desvelar o pré-científico, ato anterior as configurações geométricas ideias, mobiliza-se a variação imaginativa articulada à história como movimento das realizações espirituais; tal realização é entendida como “origem”. Também, leva-se em conta a função da linguagem e intropatia, bem como o movimento subjetividade/intersubjetividade/objetividade fundamentais para a constituição das idealidades. Presentou-se, assim, um a priori do mundo histórico como um mundo de coisas, mas não apenas, cujos materiais a ele pertencentes serviram como base para as primeiras configurações geométricas. Explicita-se, ainda, o mundo da vida como fundamento de sentido para todas as ciências que se ocupam da pura espaço-temporalidade, tomando a Geometria em sentido exemplar

Proposal of a model for the planning of information systems for use in environments of high organizational turbulence : the case of road transportation of dangerous products

O objetivo deste trabalho consiste na proposição de um modelo para planejamento de sistemas de informação para operação em ambientes de elevada turbulência organizacional, citando-se como objeto de estudo a atividade de transporte rodoviário de produtos perigosos. A metodologia utilizada foi baseada na prospecção de estudos existentes acerca de construção de sistemas de informação, principalmente em ambientes de turbulência, agregando um modelo de gerenciamento de riscos aplicado à atividade de transporte específica. O modelo permite não apenas estruturar os sistemas de informação em ambientes turbulentos alinhados com o planejamento estratégico de órgãos e entidades envolvidos com o tema, como também considera o aspecto temporal dos eventos, as ações de cada ator em seu ambiente e o tipo de intervenção requerido. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThe objective of this work consists in proposing a model for planning information systems for operation in environments of high turbulence organization, citing as an object of study the activity of road transport of dangerous goods. The methodology was based on survey of existing studies on construction of information systems, especially in turbulent environments, adding a model of risk management applied to the activity of specific transport. The model structure allows not only information systems in turbulent environments aligned with the strategic planning of the public agency and entities involved with the issue, but also considers the temporal aspect of events, the actions of each actor in their environment and type of intervention required

Invasive bivalves in fresh waters : impacts from individuals to ecosystems and possible control strategies

Invasive bivalves may cause great ecological, evolutionary, and economic impacts in freshwater ecosystems. Species such as Corbicula fluminea, Dreissena bugensis, Dreissena polymorpha, Limnoperna fortunei, and Sinanodonta woodiana are widely distributed hyper-successful invaders, but several others not yet invasive (or at least not considered as such) may become so in the near future. These species can affect hydrology, biogeochemical cycling, and biotic interactions through several mechanisms, with impacts ranging from individuals to ecosystems. Freshwater invasive bivalves can create no-analog ecosystems, posing serious difficulties for management, but new techniques are becoming available which may enhance options to detect early introductions and mitigate impacts. Although knowledge about the biology of these bivalves has increased considerably in the last two decades, several fundamental gaps still persist; we suggest new research directions that are worth exploring in the near future.This study was conducted in the scope of the project "ECO-IAS", funded by the Portuguese Foundation for the Science and the Technology and COMPETE funds (Contract: PTDC/AAC-AMB/116685/2010)
