Estudio espectroscópico de los productos resultantes de las reacciones en un plasma de baja temperatura

La espectroscopia estudia la interacción entre la radiación y la materia. Se ocupa por tanto del estudio de los espectros: la forma de obtenerlos, medirlos y su aplicación. Actualmente estos estudios tienen importantes aplicaciones en la investigación y en la industria, por ejemplo: descomposición de gases, creación de nanopartículas, implantación de iones, deposición de partículas en películas delgadas, entre otros. Este trabajo identifica mediante espectroscopia óptica de emisión los productos resultantes de las reacciones en un plasma de baja temperatura.Al COMECyT, por la beca escolar durante la estancia en el programa de posgrado

Teorías organizacionales aplicadas en las universidades públicas: estudio de caso de la ciudad de Bogotá

En esta investigación se han identificado las teorías organizacionales aplicadas en algunas universidades públicas de la ciudad de Bogotá, D.C., con el fin de identificar el modelo más flexible que optimice los recursos y, a la vez, soporte la calidad del servicio educativo. La metodología de trabajo utilizada fue un enfoque cualitativo descriptivo, a través de un análisis documental con la determinación de categorías y subcategorías. Como resultado de este análisis se encontraron grados diferenciales de centralización, especialización y formalización según los niveles de la institución, el diseño de las estructuras son similares, con casos puntuales a resaltar, de otra parte, se evidencia una intervención fuerte por parte del Estado. Como conclusión, se aprecia que las prácticas administrativas de las organizaciones universitarias están influenciadas en un alto porcentaje por las teorías de la burocracia y de la contingencia

Una solución pacífica a la tensión nuclear en la península de Corea

In spite of the efforts of the international community to solve the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) nuclear crisis, this issue remains unsolved. The relevance of this matter lies in the need to find a permanent solution to the crisis that leads to a total denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. Therefore, the aim of this article is to demonstrate the need of a peaceful solution to the DPRK nuclear issue in which the security concerns of North Korea are addressed by signing a peace treaty with Pyongyang that ensures that the United States will not attack the regime, will remove its troops from South Korea and will finish its military drills with this ally. This article will discuss what elements will be necessary to achieve a peaceful solution to this nuclear conundrum.  A pesar de los esfuerzos de la comunidad internacional para solucionar la crisis nuclear en la República Popular Democrática de Corea (RPDC), esta situación sigue sin resolverse. La relevancia de esta problemática radica en la necesidad de encontrar una solución permanente que conduzca a la desnuclearización total de la península de Corea. Por ello, el objetivo de este artículo es demostrar por qué se requiere una solución pacífica al problema nuclear que supone la RPDC, donde se aborden las preocupaciones de seguridad de Corea del Norte mediante la firma de un tratado de paz con Pyongyang, el cual deberá garantizar que Estados Unidos no atacará al régimen, removerá sus tropas de Corea del Sur y terminará sus ejercicios militares con este país aliado. El presente documento discutirá los elementos necesarios para lograr una solución pacífica al enigma nuclear en esta parte del mundo

Are there gender differences in how managers and professionals perceived organizational climate The case of Tuscan healthcare system

Abstract This study examines the organizational climate and looking at gender differences in professional roles within healthcare organizations. Data came from organizational-climate questionnaires administered in 2010 to 1498 health managers and 19,616 health staff in the Tuscany Region (Italy). An exploratory factor analysis was performed to verify the validity and internal consistency between items and Student t-test to compare mean perceptions regarding the dimensions across different groups of respondents. Five dimensions were measured: "training opportunities", "communication and information processing", "managerial tools", "organization", and "management and leadership style", and overall job satisfaction. Significant gender differences were found in the perception of professional roles between managers and staff. Resumen Este trabajo investiga si existen diferencias de género en cómo los gerentes y profesionales del sector salud perciben el clima organizacional en la Región de la Toscana. Los datos provienen de los cuestionarios administrados a 1498 gerentes de salud y 19616 trabajadores de salud de salud en la Región de Toscana (Italia). Se aplicó un análisis factorial exploratorio para verificar la validez y la consistencia interna entre los elementos y la prueba de la t de Student para comparar las percepciones medias con respecto a las dimensiones a través de diferentes grupos de encuestados. Se midieron cinco dimensiones: "oportunidades de formación", "procesamiento de la comunicación y la información", "herramientas de gestión", "organización" y "estilo de gestión y liderazgo", y la satisfacción general en el trabajo. Se encontraron diferencias de género estadísticamente significativas entre la percepción del clima organizacional entre directivos y trabajadores

Organizational climate: Comparing private and public hospitals within professional roles

AbstractThis study compares the organizational climate differences within professional roles in private and public hospitals. We focused on how physicians, administrative, healthcare and non-healthcare staff either in the public or in the private perceived their work environment and each organizational climate dimension. Data came from organizational-climate questionnaires administered in 2010 and 2012 to 19616 and 1276 health employees in public and private hospitals in the Tuscany Region respectively. We applied exploratory factoranalysis to verify the validity and internal consistency between items in the questionnaire and t-test, one-way analysis of variance to compare mean perceptions regarding to the dimensions across different groups of respondents. We measured four dimensions: "training opportunities", "managerial tools", "organization" and "management & leadership style" and overall job satisfaction. Hospital status in the professional roles was found significant in the staff's perceptions (p≤0.05)

Frequency correlation requirements on the biphoton wavefunction in an induced coherence experiment between separate sources

There is renewed interest in using the coherence between beams generated in separate down-converter sources for new applications in imaging, spectroscopy, microscopy and optical coherence tomography (OCT). These schemes make use of continuous wave (CW) pumping in the low parametric gain regime, which produces frequency correlations, and frequency entanglement, between signal-idler pairs generated in each single source. But can induced coherence still be observed if there is no frequency correlation, so the biphoton wavefunction is factorable? We will show that this is the case, and this might be an advantage for OCT applications. High axial resolution requires a large bandwidth. For CW pumping this requires the use of short nonlinear crystals. This is detrimental since short crystals generate small photon fluxes. We show that the use of ultrashort pump pulses allows improving axial resolution even for long crystal that produce higher photon fluxes

Periodic bouncing solutions of the Lazer-Solimini equation with weak repulsive singularity

We prove the existence and multiplicity of periodic solutions of bouncing type for a second-order differential equation with a weak repulsive singularity. Such solutions can be cataloged according to the minimal period and the number of elastic collisions with the singularity in each period. The proof relies on the Poincaré-Birkhoff Theorem

Viability study of sailing propulsion combined with a conventional system

For many years now, sails have been used as a propulsion system. At present, they are restricted to recreational/sport crafts since the appearance of the first steam vessels in the beginning of the 19 th century. But in the last years, due to the increase of fuel price and the pollution of the environment, it is being studied the possibility to introduce again the sail as a propulsive method combined with other conventional systems. In this paper, it is studied the viability of using a sail as a propellant with other conventional systems of propulsion. After considering the concept of apparent wind, the range of use of this complementary propulsion is presented. The calculation methodology, the numerical simulations and the wind inputs from a specific route are also included
