    Vagrants’ Communication Behavior in Interpersonal Relations in Jakarta

    Abstract The study aimed to know the communication management pattern of interpersonal communicationactivities among vagrants and other communities. The study made use of qualitative researchintended to get complete description of interpersonal communication phenomena that occurredamong vagrants and other communities. The research relied on observation and in-depth interviewswith ten vagrants which were spread in some places in Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang Selatan,Tangerang, Bogor, and Bekasi.  The collected data were analyzed using Johari Window theory toexplain which frame underlay how vagrants conducted interpersonal and intrapersonalcommunication. The result showed that vagrants did their communication activities by dividingthemselves into open and close areas. The other communication behavior was done throughmechanism management of impression which was made to manage and organize how to behave ininterpersonal communication and relation with others as a form of adaptation and an effort to keepharmony in social interaction and communication. It can be concluded that the vagrants are part ofthe social system and structure of the community that has traditions and culture that need to berespected and appreciated. Keywords: vagrant; self; impression management, Johari Windo

    BAHASA INDONESIA LEARNING COMMUNICATION BY USING COOPERATIVE MODEL APPROACH

    Communication in education and learning gives a great contribution in the success and effectivity learning achievement which is expected. The same as a teachers when they making communication in the class. There are a lot of model and innovation in learning communication, for example Cooperative Learning (CL), Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), Inquiry, and Problem Solving. This learning model concern that every learning process of active students create their own knowledge (student centered). By using positivisme percepective that tends to avoid talking about reality which is can not be observed (Rohim, 225:2009). The approach which is used in this research is using quantitative approach because it is needed to measure the impact of indepent variable to dependent variable, in other words to measure the cause and effect (causal), (Sugiyono, 2010:190). This research shows that learning strategy and cooperative communication significantly give a big impact to students’ achievement, this data is supported with the data that shows students’ learning achievement in Bahasa Indonesia is better than students’ learning achievement which is using convensional group learning strategy

    Communication and Transition of Self-Identity of Ex-Prostituted Women to Residents of Rehabilitation Institutions

    The arrest and the process of guidance rehabilitation activities for ex-prostitution make them and their identities become different before undergoing the arrest and guidance process. These are that maybe felt by all ex-prostitution in rehabilitation. The purpose of this study was to explore the phenomenon of communication in the rehabilitation program as well as the changes of identity and self of ex-prostitution after experiencing an arrest by the law enforcement officers or Civil service police Unit (Satpol PP) and the rehabilitation program in rehab place. This research method was using qualitative approach as an analysis in this research activities, by tracing the changes in self-concept or psychological changing and consciousness which is experienced by an Ex-prostitute womenafter being caught in a “raid” operation and put into a rehabilitation center. The results of this study reveal that ex-prostitutes or other nicknames that they usually called slut before being caught, had a concept and awareness of themselves as someone who has a typology of work as Professional, Semi-Professional and Amateur prostitutes according to their background and their reasons for choosing to be prostitutes. After the arresting and guidance in the rehabilitation center, make the subject reformulate his physical, psychological and social existence as a new identity, including physical appearance, attitude and social orientation. This research gives contribution in the form of recommendations for policy-making and the process of guidance for ex-prostitutes, so it can make easier communication and the effectiveness of guidance because it sees from the aspect of awareness and identity as objects and subjects in the rehabilitation process

Penelitianini sangat menarik untuk dilakukan, karena ketika penelitimengungkapkan Kenyataan subjektif darisatu pelacur yang masuk dan bergabung dalamproses rehabilitasi, kesiapan adaptasi juga terungkap.Penelitian dilakukan denganmetodewawancaramendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi sebagaiteknik dalammengumpulkan data. Penelitian inimenunjukkan bahwa konsep dirimantan pelacur adalahnegatif sebelummasuk rehabilitasi (ketikamenjadipelacur) berdasarkanmotivasi subjek untukmenjadipelacur, dan juga sebagai citra diri akibat persepsi fisik, mental, dan sosial selama sebagai pelacur.Selain itu ditemukanpolarisasikonsep dirimenjadikonsep diriyang positifdannegatif setelah bergabungdengan rehabilitasi, berdasarkan persepsi diri fisik, sosial, danmental. Dari konsep polarisasi diri,terbentukmenjaditiga tipologi pelacurmantan, yaitumantan pelacur optimis,mantan pelacur dilematis,danmantan pelacur pesimis.     The main purpose of this study was to compare and examine the effectiveness of problem-posing and think-pair-share cooperatives' learning models on mathematical problem-solving skills and mathematical communication skills. This study was experimental research with a quasi-experimental design. The samples of the study were 41 students for classroom experiments and 40 students for classroom control. The instruments employed in this study were pre-test and post-test. The instruments were made in essay forms which design to measure students’ mathematical problem-solving skills. The result of the study showed that problem-posing and think-pair-share are very effective to improve students’ mathematical achievements. However, between the problem-posing and think-pair-share, the think-pair-share is more effective than problem-posing, view from the standards of mathematical problem-solving skills and mathematical communication skills of Junior High School students
