The complexity of projecting and designing a ship requires a work sequence that covers at least three main areas: (1) Concept engineering; (2) Basic engineering; (3) Detail engineering. This paper explains the design transition that exists (or should exist) between concept engineering and the final product, emphasizing the existing contractual relationship with the shipbuilder, especially in the initial definition of the project and the influence on construction aspects.La complejidad del proyecto y diseño de una embarcación obliga a plantear una secuencia de trabajo que abarca al menos tres grandes áreas: (1) Ingeniería de concepto; (2) Ingeniería básica; (3) Ingeniería de detalle. Plan de negocios para la creación de una agencia turoperadora de ecoturismo y etnoturismo en el municipio de Guapi Cauca

Podemos definir el turismo como el arte de disfrutar de ambientes y lugares diferentes al de residencia con el fin de satisfacer necesidades de conocimiento, descanso y entretenimiento. El turismo está avanzando más a través del tiempo y el público se vuelve más exigente, los turistas hoy en día no se conforman con lo básico que les puede ofrecer cualquier agencia de viajes común. Por eso con este proyecto se busca crear una agencia de viajes que tenga un factor diferenciador en el mercado que pueda sobrepasar las expectativas generadas por los turistas, y así lograr que se sientan más satisfechos. El turismo en Colombia está teniendo un momento muy importante, lo cual podría seguir en esta dinámica si se logra el acuerdo de paz. Según el informe de turismo del 2015 “al cierre de 2014, se registraron 1.967.814 llegadas de viajeros extranjeros no residentes, lo que representa un crecimiento del 14,0% frente a la cifra reportada en el mismo período del 2013 (1.726.300)” (Mincit, Ministerio de Industria, Comercio y Turismo, 2015). Estas importantes cifras muestran un panorama muy bueno para el turismo en Colombia por lo tanto es una oportunidad importante para crear empresa en este sector y así poder generar nuevas propuestas y oportunidades que contribuyan al desarrollo económico y sostenible de las comunidades colombianas

The Algarve climatophilous vegetation series – Portugal: a base document to the planning, management and nature conservation Les séries de végètation climatophiles de l’Algarve - Portugal: un document de base pour la planification, gestion et conservation de la nature

This work was developed as part of PhD research devoted to the flora and vegetation of the Caldeirão and Monchique mountains that aims to identify the vegetation climatophilous series and use them as an environmental diagnosis of Algarve administrative province phyto-ecological subregions. Biogeographic and bioclimatic considerations are presented, as well as the study area pedological and lithological characterization. For each of the seven climatophilous series the dynamic and catenal behaviours, as well as the main characteristic plants that constitute the successional stages, are given. The corresponding patrimonial value is studied

SinEx DB: a database for single exon coding sequences in mammalian genomes

Indexación: Web of Science.Eukaryotic genes are typically interrupted by intragenic, noncoding sequences termed introns. However, some genes lack introns in their coding sequence (CDS) and are generally known as 'single exon genes' (SEGs). In this work, a SEG is defined as a nuclear, protein-coding gene that lacks introns in its CDS. Whereas, many public databases of Eukaryotic multi-exon genes are available, there are only two specialized databases for SEGs. The present work addresses the need for a more extensive and diverse database by creating SinEx DB, a publicly available, searchable database of predicted SEGs from 10 completely sequenced mammalian genomes including human. SinEx DB houses the DNA and protein sequence information of these SEGs and includes their functional predictions (KOG) and the relative distribution of these functions within species. The information is stored in a relational database built with My SQL Server 5.1.33 and the complete dataset of SEG sequences and their functional predictions are available for downloading. SinEx DB can be interrogated by: (i) a browsable phylogenetic schema, (ii) carrying out BLAST searches to the in-house SinEx DB of SEGs and (iii) via an advanced search mode in which the database can be searched by key words and any combination of searches by species and predicted functions. Veamy: an extensible object-oriented C++ library for the virtual element method

This paper summarizes the development of Veamy, an object-oriented C++ library for the virtual element method (VEM) on general polygonal meshes, whose modular design is focused on its extensibility. The linear elastostatic and Poisson problems in two dimensions have been chosen as the starting stage for the development of this library. The theory of the VEM, upon which Veamy is built, is presented using a notation and a terminology that resemble the language of the finite element method (FEM) in engineering analysis. Several examples are provided to demonstrate the usage of Veamy, and in particular, one of them features the interaction between Veamy and the polygonal mesh generator PolyMesher. A computational performance comparison between VEM and FEM is also conducted. Veamy is free and open source software

Gestión de las competencias matemáticas y reflexión docente: el caso de la modelización y la argumentación en el aula

En este artículo, caracterizamos algunos aspectos que son importantes de considerar por parte del profesor para una gestión de las competencias de argumentación y modelización en el aula de matemáticas. Se presenta el caso de dos profesoras que participaban en un seminario para el desarrollo de competencias matemáticas, a quienes se les registró la clase para ser analizada en el seminario. De los casos presentados, destacamos que el desarrollo de la argumentación depende principalmente de la gestión de aula, en cambio la competencia de modelización depende tanto del diseño de situaciones de aprendizaje como de su gestión en el aula

Violation of action--reaction and self-forces induced by nonequilibrium fluctuations

We show that the extension of Casimir-like forces to fluctuating fluids driven out of equilibrium can exhibit two interrelated phenomena forbidden at equilibrium: self-forces can be induced on single asymmetric objects and the action--reaction principle between two objects can be violated. These effects originate in asymmetric restrictions imposed by the objects' boundaries on the fluid's fluctuations. They are not ruled out by the second law of thermodynamics since the fluid is in a nonequilibrium state. Considering a simple reaction--diffusion model for the fluid, we explicitly calculate the self-force induced on a deformed circle. We also show that the action--reaction principle does not apply for the internal Casimir forces exerting between a circle and a plate. Their sum, instead of vanishing, provides the self-force on the circle-plate assembly.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure. First record of Abrothrix jelskii (Thomas, 1894) (Mammalia: Rodentia: Cricetidae) in Salta province, northwestern Argentina: Filling gaps and distribution map

Abrothrix jelskii is one of the lesser-known species in the genus Abrothrix, and it has only been recorded in a few localities in highland environments along the central Andean range. In Argentina, existing records are restricted to just one locality in Jujuy province. We have recently recorded this species in Salta Province, extending its known distribution 150 km northward in northwestern Argentina and 175 km further to the southeast compared to existing records from localities in southern Bolivia. Ten other rodent species were also recorded in the same area, with some of these records, such as those for Auliscomys sublimis, Akodon boliviensis, and Phyllotis sp., being noteworthy as well.Fil: Jayat, Jorge Pablo.
