Caractéristiques et facteurs déterminants des migrations et mouvements de retour en Andalousie: le cas de la province de Jaén

Migratory movements have been a recurrent theme of study in the field of Population Geography. In Spain, attention has focused on emigration after the civil war; and on the more recent immigratory movement. The return movement has always been deemed less important, although it is very interesting due to the significance of the emigration to which it is associated. More often than not, macroeconomic models have been used to explain the migratory phenomenon from the theoretical viewpoint, while a quantitative approach has been taken from the methodological viewpoint. Both have "forgotten" about emigrants themselves, and the personal circumstances that prompt them to emigrate and return. Therefore approaches that combine macro- and micro-aspects are required. In this respect, the methodology proposed is to use qualitative techniques to ascertain the migrants' life path, such as in-depth interviews, used in this case to analyse the life path of the retired emigrants of the province of Jaén, focusing in particular on their reasons for emigrating and for returning or not returning.Les mouvements migratoires sont un thème d'étude récurent en géographie de la population. En Espagne les principaux centres d'intérêt sont l'émigration qui a suivi la guerre civile et les mouvements récents d'immigration. Les mouvements de retour ont toujours été considérés comme moins importants, même s'ils sont une partie intégrante de l'étude de l'émigration. On a souvent utilisé des modèles macroéconomiques pour expliquer le phénomène migratoire sur le plan théorique, tandis qu'on utilisait des méthodes quantitatives sur le plan méthodologique. Ces deux approches ont négligé les migrants eux- mêmes et les circonstances ayant entraîné la décision d'émigrer ou de rentrer. Pour y remédier il est nécessaire de combiner macro- et micro-approches. La méthode préconisée dans cet article est d'utiliser des techniques qualitatives pour vérifier les trajectoires individuelles des migrants, comme les interviews en profondeur, utilisées dans ici pour reconstituer les trajectoires des émigrés retraités de la province de Jaén, en mettant plus particulièrement l'accent sur les motivations d'émigration et de retour ou de non-retour

La inmigración actual en Andalucía (1997-2001)

Desde el punto de vista de la Geografía de la Población, el tema de los movimientos migratorios ha sido uno de los que más atención ha acaparado, siendo especialmente amplia la bibliografía alusiva a la emigración, ya que España y algunas de sus regiones, caso de Andalucía, se han comportado durante décadas como expulsoras de población, tanto dentro del territorio nacional, en el caso andaluz, como hacia países de ultramar y europeos. En los últimos años sin embargo destaca el auge de la inmigración, que ha convertido a España en neto receptor de flujos. A estas dos corrientes cabe añadir una tercera, menos estudiada en general, pero no menos importante, como es la de retorno. La diversidad de perfiles migratorios por su procedencia, destino, edad, género, nivel de instrucción hace del fenómeno migratorio un proceso complejo que no responde a un único modelo de comportamiento. El análisis del retorno de emigrantes y la inmigración a Andalucía en los últimos años es el objetivo de este trabajo que utiliza el municipio como escala básica de análisis.Peer reviewe

Personas jubiladas o próximas a la jubilación que preparan el regreso o que ya han regresado y que asumen en definitiva una nueva emigración, esta vez al lugar que siempre han pensado volver, aunque no necesariamente coincida con el que dejaron años o décadas atrás

Molecular Mechanisms Underlying the Effects of Olive Oil Triterpenic Acids in Obesity and Related Diseases

Dietary components exert protective effects against obesity and related metabolic and cardiovascular disturbances by interfering with the molecular pathways leading to these pathologies. Dietary biomolecules are currently promising strategies to help in the management of obesity and metabolic syndrome, which are still unmet medical issues. Olive oil, a key component of the Mediterranean diet, provides an exceptional lipid matrix highly rich in bioactive molecules. Among them, the pentacyclic triterpenic acids (i.e., oleanolic acid) have gained clinical relevance in the last decade due to their wide range of biological actions, particularly in terms of vascular function, obesity and insulin resistance. Considering the promising effects of these triterpenic compounds as nutraceuticals and components of functional foods against obesity and associated complications, the aim of our review is to decipher and discuss the main molecular mechanisms underlying these effects driven by olive oil triterpenes, in particular by oleanolic acid. Special attention is paid to their signaling and targets related to glucose and insulin homeostasis, lipid metabolism, adiposity and cardiovascular dysfunction in obesity. Our study is aimed at providing a better understanding of the impact of dietary components of olive oil in the long-term management of obesity and metabolic syndrome in humans
