    Composition and Nutritive Value of Corn Co-Products from Dry Milling Ethanol Plants

    The South Dakota ethanol industry is rapidly expanding. As a direct result of this expansion it is expected that in excess of 500,000 tons of corn co-products will be available to livestock enterprises annually as a feed source. Processing methods are, in general terms, similar among dry milling ethanol plants. However, newer technology and small deviations of methods can alter the nutritive value of the co-products. Subsequently, diet formulations using general nutritive values may be inaccurate and cause production inefficiencies.     This study aims to determine the effect of giving organic liquid fertilizer as well as obtaining the appropriate concentration of organic liquid fertilizer in increasing the growth and production of pakcoy plants (Brassica rapa L. The experiment was conducted at Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty of Universitas Riau Jalan Bina Widya Km 12,5 Simpang Baru Tampan, Pekanbaru from April to June 2017. The experiment was conducted experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment given is liquid organic fertilizer (P) consisting of 5 levels, namely: The P0 = Without the application of liquid organic fertilizer (0 cc / l water), P1 = Giving organic liquid fertilizer 2 cc / l water, P2 = Organic fertilizer Liquid 4 cc / l water, P3 = Provision of liquid organic fertilizer 6 cc / l water and P4 = Provision of liquid organic fertilizer 8 cc / l water. Thus obtained 20 units of experiments consisting of 5 tamanan as a sample. The parameters observed were: plant height, leaf number, leaf area, fresh weight of plant and fresh weight of consumption. The data obtained were analyzed using variance then tested further with the Duncan Multiple Range Test at 5% level. The results showed that the application of liquid organic fertilizer significantly affect the parameters of plant height, leaf number, leaf area, fresh weight of pakcoy plant and fresh weight is feasible for consumption. Giving of liquid organic fertilizer 8 cc / L water showed better growth and yield on all parameters of pakcoy plant

    PENGARUH PENCAMPURAN TERPENTIN dengan CPO (CRUDE PALM OIL) terhadap PEMBAKARAN DOUBLE DROPLET

    ABSTRACTCrude Palm Oil (CPO) is a vegetable oil that has the potential to be developed into biodiesel, but if applied directly CPO can damage the engine due to its high viscosity. Turpentine is one of the bio additives that can be used to lower the viscosity of vegetable oils. In this study, CPO was mixed with turpentine to reflect its viscosity. The method used in this study is  true experimental research using double droplet combustion. In this study, there were three samples used, namely 100% CPO (pure CPO), 90% CPO (90% CPO + 10% turpentine), and 85% CPO (85% CPO + 15% turpentine). From this study, the highest temperature at 85% CPO was obtained at 674.1 oC.  The fastest burning rate at CPO is 90% with a burning rate of 0 – 0.966 s on chanel 1 and 0 – 0.966 s on chanel 2.  Meanwhile, the highest height in CPO is 85% with 21.41 mm and the highest fire width in CPO is 85% at 6.1 mm. from the research data, it can be concluded that the addition of terpenti is proven to reduce and improve the combustion quality of CPO droplets. Keywords : Biodiesel, CPO, Bio additive, Turpentine ABSTRAKCrude Palm Oil (CPO) merupakan minyak nabati yang sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan menjadi biodiesel, tapi jika diterapkan secara langsung  CPO  dapat merusak mesin karena viskositasnya yang tinggi. Terpentin merupakan salah satu bio aditif yang dapat digunakan menurunkan viskositas dari minyak nabati. Dalam penelitian ini CPO dicampur dengan terpentin untuk menerunkan viskositasnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimental nyata (true experimental research) dengan menggunakan pembakaran double droplet. Dalam penilitian ini terdapat tiga sampel yang digunakan yaitu CPO 100% (CPO murni), CPO 90% (90% CPO + 10% terpentin), dan CPO 85% (85% CPO + 15% terpentin). Dari penelitian ini diperoleh temperatur tertinggi pada CPO 85% sebesar 674,1 oC. Burning rate tercepat pada CPO 90% dengan laju pembakaran selama 0 – 0,966 s pada chanel 1 dan 0 – 0,966 s pada chanel 2. Sedangkan tinggi tertinggi pada CPO 85% dengan 21,41 mm dan lebar api tertinggi pada CPO 85% denag 6,1 mm. dari data penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan terpenti terbukti dapat menurunkan dan memperbaiki kualitas pembakaran droplet CPO. Kata Kunci: Biodiesel, CPO, Bio aditif, Terpentin

    In preventing the spread of the coronavirus, the Bogor Regency Government as the object of analysis carried out by this author has re-issued a new regulation, namely the Bogor Regent Regulation Number 60 of 2020. In addition to the implementation of this new regulation through the author's eyes, it turns out that some people still do not heed this new regulation. by not wearing a mask when traveling, not washing hands, and not maintaining distance or avoiding crowds. Especially in the Padasuka Urban Village which is the object of analysis in Bogor Regency, there are still many RT / RW areas that do not provide a place to wash hands, put up an appealing banner or wear a mask and keep a distance from the crowd. AbstrakDalam melakukan pencegahan penyebaran virus corona ini Pemerintah Kabupaten Bogor sebagai objek analisis yang dilakukan oleh penulis ini kembali menerbitkan Peraturan baru yaitu Peraturan Bupati Bogor Nomor 60 Tahun 2020. Disamping penerapan peraturan baru ini melalu kacamata pengamatan penulis ternyata masih saja sebagian masyarakat tidak mengindahkan peraturan baru ini dengan tidak memakai masker pada saat bepergian, tidak mencuci tangan dan tidak menjaga jarak atau menghindari kerumunan. Terkhusus dilingkungan Kelurahan Padasuka yang menjadi objek analisis di Kabupatn Bogor, masih banyak ditemui beberapa wilayah RT/RW yang tidak menyediakan tempat untuk mencuci tangan, memasang spanduk himbauan atau memakai masker dan menjaga jarak dari kerumunan

    Composition and Nutritive Value of Corn Fractions and Ethanol Co-products Resulting from a New Dry-milling Process

    The development of a new dry-milling process for the production of corn ethanol has resulted in new feedstuffs. This process fractionates the corn kernel prior to fermentation. Pre-fermentation fractions include bran, germ, and endosperm. Post-fermentation fractions include dried distillers grains (DDG) and condensed distiller solubles (syrup). Proximate analysis was conducted on these fractions along with the parent corn sample. Equations were used to predict TDN and undegradable intake protein (UIP). These feeds differ substantially from historical dried distiller’s grains with solubles (DDGS). Feeding experiments will be necessary to confirm the results of the predicted feed values

    This study aims to analyze the influence of brand image, product quality, and customer satisfaction on customer loyalty on iPhone products in Solo Raya. In this study, 113 samples were taken randomly from several iPhone users in Solo Raya. The sample selection method uses purposive sampling and the data used are primary data in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis method used is multiple linear regression analysis using several variables, namely brand image, product quality, customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. The results showed that the brand image variable significantly affected customer loyalty, customer quality variables significantly affected customer loyalty, customer satisfaction variables significantly influence customer loyalty. R value Square amounting to 0.831. That is, 83.1% of customer loyalty (Y) can be explained by brand image variables (X1), product quality (X2), and customer satisfaction (X3). While the rest (100% - 83.1% = 16.9%) is explained by other variables

    Effect of Feeding Schedule on Tympanic Temperature of Steer Calves During Winter

    Angus steer calves (n=135) were used in a 55d feedlot growing study to investigate the effects of feeding schedule on tympanic temperature response when limit feeding. Steers were fed a high moisture ear corn diet (58 Mcal/cwt NEg) at 0900h (AM), 1500h (PM) or 50% at 0900h and 50% at 1500h (SPLIT) to allow for 2.50lb ADG. Climatic data were collected at 30 min intervals throughout the study via an on site automated weather station. Tympanic temperatures (TT) were collected every 30 min (5 steers/trt) for 5d (d44 to d48). Mean ambient temperature during the 5d TT collection period was -6.50F (-23.1 to 9.10F). After 55d, BW (802, 808 and 802lb), ADG (2.56, 2.67 and 2.52lb) and feed efficiency (5.73, 5.52 and 5.87) did not differ (P\u3e.10) between AM, PM and SPLIT respectively, but followed rankings of previous research. Diurnal TT patterns were assessed by separating the day into three periods based on mean hourly wind chills (44.2, 17.8 and 7.50F) for Period 1 (0800 to 1600h), Period 2 (1630 to 2100h) and Period 3 (2130 to 0730h) respectively. Peak TT occurred during Period 2 for AM (102.40F) and Period 3 for PM (103.20F). SPLIT fed steers exhibited TT peaks of 103.90F or greater in each period. These data indicate that by adjusting feeding schedule it is possible to alter the time at which peak TT may occur, so that peak TT coincides with colder periods of the day. Elevated TT across all periods for SPLIT suggests that these steers may have increased metabolic rate to maintain normal TT during extreme cold. Additional research is needed to explain the changes in TT and how feeding times may impact energy partitioning

    Perkembangan teknologi dalam bidang animasi 3 dimensi (3D) saat ini berkembang sangat pesat. Namun demikian, animasi 3D yang dibuat di Indonesia terkesan masih kaku dan gerakan objek (misalnya erakan manusia) belum menyerupai gerakan yang sesungguhnya. Untuk mengatasi masalah diatas, perkiraan pose odel 3D bisa menjadi salah satu jalan keluarnya. Dengan adanya perkiraan pose dari model 3D nantinya gerakan dari model 3D bisa dibuat dalam waktu yang lebih singkat. Dalam penelitian ini, didesain dan diimplementasikan perkiraan pose dari model manusia 3 dimensi (3D). Model yang digunakan adalah model manusia silinder. gerakan dari model manusia dibagi menjadi beberapa gambar yang berurutan. Dari urutan gambar tersebut dicari letak keypoint. Keypoint yang sama dari gambar sebelumnya dicari padanannya pada gambar berikutnya. Pada penelitian ini, didapat rata-rata jumlah keypoint yang berubah lokasi mencapai 92,19 % dari jumlah keypoint pada setiap gambar acuan. Perubahan lokasi keypoint ini digunakan untuk menentukan pergerakan model, sehingga pose dari model manusia 3D dapat diprediksi
