Um olhar sobre o ensino de ciências no 1o ciclo do ensino fundamental na cidade de São Paulo

A presente comunicação tem por objetivo relatar a influência exercida por aulas dialógicas e monológicas sobre a capacidade de redação de alunos do 1o Ciclo do Ensino Fundamental. Participaram desta atividade 134 alunos distribuídos em três classes de 3a série e três classes da 4a série de duas escolas estaduais localizadas na cidade de São Paulo (Brasil). Foi distribuída uma atividade para as crianças solicitando-se que elas escrevessem sobre as aulas de Ciências transcorridas durante o ano. O material coletado foi submetido à análise do discurso bakthiniana (Brait, 2006) e concluiu-se que os alunos que participaram de aulas dialógicas escreveram espontaneamente sobre causas e conseqüências, diferentemente dos alunos que experienciaram aulas monológicas, os quais tiveram dificuldades para expressar-se por escrito

A ferrugem da teca no Amazonas.

Objetiva-se relatar a ocorrência da doença no Amazonas. Em pequenos plantios de teca, um situado no parque de exposição agropecuária (Rod. AM 010, Km 13) e outro na estação experimental da Ceplac, (Rod. BR 174, Km 48), ambas em Manaus, observou-se intenso desfolhamento. A doença causa desfolha prematura em todas as fases fenológicas da cultura.Resumo:57-1

Information and telecommunications project for a digital city: a brazilian case study

Making information and telecommunications available is a permanent challenge for cities concerned to their social, urban and local planning and development, focused on life quality of their citizens and on the effectiveness of public management. Such a challenge requires the involvement of everyone in the city. The objective is to describe the information and telecommunications project from the planning of a digital city carried out in Vinhedo-SP, Brazil. It was built as a telecommunications infrastructure of the kind of "open access metropolitan area networks" which enables the integration of citizens in a single telecommunications environment. The research methodology was emphasized by a case study which turned to be a research-action, comprising the municipal administration and its local units. The results achieved describe, by means of a methodology, the phases, sub-phases, activities, approval points and resulting products, and formalize their respective challenges and difficulties. The contributions have to do with the practical feasibility of the project and execution of its methodology. The conclusion reiterates the importance of the project, collectively implemented and accepted, as a tool to help the management of cities, in the implementation of Strategic Digital City Projects, in the decisions of public administration managers, and in the quality of life of their citizens3119811

Atividades lúdicas como elementos mediadores da aprendizagem no ensino de ciências da natureza

Este relato focaliza os resultados obtidos na aplicação de um jogo de tabuleiro, o Autódromo Alquímico. O estuo foi realizado com alunos do 9o ano do Ensino Fundamental em escolas da Rede Privada do Município de Itabuna (Ba, Brasil), com o objetivo de verificar o papel dessas dinâmicas como recurso mediador/facilitador da construção do conhecimento pelos sujeitos envolvidos no processo. Observamos que cerca de 90% dos sujeitos do processo aprenderam os conteúdos abordados. Além disso, foram desenvolvidas habilidades importantes para a constituição de um sujeito capaz do exercício ativo de sua cidadania, tais como respeito a identidades e diferenças; inter-relação de pensamentos, idéias e conceitos; aumento da criatividade e da capacidade de argumentação

Spin dynamics in exchange-biased F/AF bilayers

The spin dynamics of the ferromagnetic pinned layer of ferro-antiferromagnetic coupled NiFe/MnNi bilayers is investigated in a broad frequency range (30 MHz-6 GHz). A phenomenological model based on the Landau-Lifshitz equation for the complex permeability of the F/AF bilayer is proposed. Atomistic Simulation of Intrinsic Defects and Trivalent and Tetravalent Ion Doping in Hydroxyapatite

Atomistic simulation techniques have been employed in order to investigate key issues related to intrinsic defects and a variety of dopants from trivalent and tetravalent ions. The most favorable intrinsic defect is determined to be a scheme involving calcium and hydroxyl vacancies. It is found that trivalent ions have an energetic preference for the Ca site, while tetravalent ions can enter P sites. Charge compensation is predicted to occur basically via three schemes. In general, the charge compensation via the formation of calcium vacancies is more favorable. Trivalent dopant ions are more stable than tetravalent dopants
