    Get PDF
This thesis has addressed several challenges of the big data era in the field of high angular-resolution radio astronomy using machine learning algorithms. The methodologies presented in this thesis were designed with the aim of minimizing the need for human interactions, while still providing robust results. This thesis has an interdisciplinary approach and uses knowledge in computer science to advance our understanding of the radio sky. The main objectives of this thesis can be categorized into four subjects. First, it provides an analysis to the properties of the detected radio sources with Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA). Then we have provided the details of our developed source detection and characterization pipeline that can localize the source in any observed image from the VLBA. Beside source detection, the implemented pipeline can remove the observational noise, restore the structure of the celestial sources and predict their properties, such as size and brightness. In the fourth chapter, we have designed an algorithm that can find rare types of galaxies, called strong gravitationally lensed systems, among the many observed radio emitting objects observed with the International LOFAR Telescope. We also have provided preliminary results on using machine learning algorithms to predict the lensing parameters such as the Einstein radius, axis ratio and position angle

Knowledge management contains the extensive range of activities which is applied to manage, transfer, create or improve the mental capital in major level. Knowledge management is designed processes, tools, structure intellectually used in order to increase, renew, share or improve the knowledge application which will be appeared triple mental capitals including structural, human and social elements in each of them. Knowledge management is a process to help organizations in order to recognize, select, organize and distribute the important skills and information as organizational memory existing as non-structured ones. This causes the organization management enable to solve learning problems, make strategic planning and dynamic decisions effectively. The transformation of industrial business model was for the organization capital basically as financial tangible capital (production facilities, machines, land, etc) to move toward organizations with intangible basic capital and it was mixed to knowledge, abilities and management to produce creative employees. In virtual organization, the relationship between employees, managers, partners and customers will begin and terminate irregularly. This continuous change endangers organization knowledge as the most valuable capital in it. The lack of good management may cause to a lack of the most knowledge due to these relationships. This risk is possible more for individual knowledge which is formed by the expansion of relations or new procedures. But, even the explicit organization knowledge may be gone whether it is not attained and interpreted as regular method. The effective Knowledge management enables organizations to protect themselves against losses even when employees and partners stopped their relationships and also it facilitates the increasing key ideas in subsets of organization and will increase the cooperation between different work teams

Software-Defined Internet of Things (SDIoT) is defined as merging heterogeneous objects in a form of interaction among physical and virtual entities. Large scale of data centers, heterogeneity issues and their interconnections have made the resource management a hard problem specially when there are different actors in cloud system with different needs. Resource management is a vital requirement to achieve robust networks specially with facing continuously increasing amount of heterogeneous resources and devices to the network. The goal of this paper is reviews to address IoT resource management issues in cloud computing services. We discuss the bottlenecks of cloud networks for IoT services such as mobility. We review Fog computing in IoT services to solve some of these issues. It provides a comprehensive literature review of around one hundred studies on resource management in Peer to Peer Cloud Networks and IoT. It is very important to find a robust design to efficiently manage and provision requests and available resources. We also reviewed different search methodologies to help clients find proper resources to answer their needs

Introduction: The basic objective of this paper was to study the flourishing of Iranian students based on Seligman model and its comparison based on demographic variables.  Methods: 400 subjects of all students enrolled in the second semester of academic year of 20142015 in Ferdowsi University of Mashhad were randomly classified and studied as the sample group. Flourishing questionnaire was used to test the hypotheses. The flourishing questionnaire includes four components of positive emotions, relationships, meaning and achievement. To analyze the research data, the followings were used: percentage, mean, system dynamics (SD), multivariate analysis of variance, univariate analysis of variance and post hoc least significant difference (LSD) test.   Results: Descriptive results showed that 5% of students are at wilting point; 30% have relative mental health and 65% are at flourishing state. The highest percentage of flourishing students was in the meaning component (72.5%), while the lowest percentage of them was found in the positive emotions component (59.75%). The results of MANOVA test and follow-up tests also showed that the flourishing rate of the students is not affected by father's education, mother's education, father's occupation, mother's occupation, school and residence of the students (native or non-native); however, the flourishing rate of the students in the relationships component was significantly different with regard to the gender and education of the students; This means that the female students compared to the male students, and master and PhD students compared to the undergraduate students had earned higher scores in the relationships component. Conclusion: At the end, according to the results of the present study, it is suggested to develop a unique intervention program to promote and foster flourishing of the students, while considering gender and educational differences in the relationships component. Declaration of Interest: None.

Designing A Low Cost Prosthetic Arm Device

The goal of the project is to build a functional low-cost prosthetic arm that is easily maintained. The focus is on prostheses that attach to the forearm. This design must perform daily life tasks such as picking up, holding and carrying objects while playing and working. To begin the design, a mechanical finger was built with wooden tongue depressors as bone material; rubber bands, string, and drinking straws as muscle material; and masking tape as ligament and tendon material. The length of each joint was set to the golden ratio. Using this method, a basic hand was created that could be used to grip objects. The second step was to determine the amount of surface area needed to impart appropriate pressure for gripping objects without causing damaging. This was measured using an olive as a model. The pressure required to puncture the skin of an olive with an object of known surface area was determined. Newton\u27s first law was used to derive the graph of Force vs. Area of the finger tip. Each fingertip should have a surface area of at least 3.67 mm2 to prevent damage to objects encountered in daily life. The significance of the project is to develop an effective low-cost, easily maintained prosthetic arm that could benefit people with disabilities in developing nations or who are living below the poverty line

Today, consumers are looking for functional foods that promote health and prevent certain diseases in addition to provide nutritional requirements. This study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant and cytotoxic properties of Liza klunzingeri protein hydrolysates. Fish protein hydrolysates (FPHs) were prepared from L. klunzingeri muscle using enzymatic hydrolysis with papain at enzyme/substrate ratios of 1:25 and 1:50 for 45, 90 and 180 min. The antioxidant activities of the FPHs were investigated through five antioxidant assays. The cytotoxic effects on 4T1 carcinoma cell line were also evaluated. The amino acid composition and molecular weight distribution of the hydrolysate with the highest antioxidant activity were determined by HPLC. All six FPHs exhibited good scavenging activity on ABTS (IC50=0.60-0.12 mg/mL), DPPH (IC50= 3.18-2.08 mg/mL), and hydroxyl (IC50=4.13-2.07 mg/mL) radicals. They also showed moderate Fe+2 chelating capacity (IC50=2.12-12.60 mg/mL) and relatively poor ferric reducing activity (absorbance at 70 nm= 0.01-0.15, 5 mg/mL). In addition, all hydrolysates showed cytotoxic activities against the 4T1 cells (IC50=1.62-2.61 mg/mL). 94.6% of peptide in hydrolysate with the highest antioxidant activity had molecular weight less than 1,000 Da. L. klunzingeri protein hydrolysates show significant antioxidant and anticancer activities in vitro and are suggested to be used in animal studies
