Оптический метод исследования влияния давления на фазовый переход высокий спин−низкий спин в железосодержащих координационных соединениях
На основе анализа спектров поглощения разработан оптический метод исследования переходов высокий спин (HS)−низкий спин (LS) под давлением. Изучено влияние давления на превращение HS−LS в соединении Fe(BF₄)₂[pmd]{Ag(CN)₂}₂·H₂O при комнатной температуре и показано, что в нем наблюдается полный переход из HS- в LS-состояние при увеличении давления до 1 GPa. При сбросе давления наблюдается гистерезис с шириной петли 0.2 GPa.An optical method for the high spin (HS)−low spin (LS) transition investigation under pressure has been developed basing on the analysis of absorption spectra. Pressure effect on the HS−LS transformation in Fe(BF₄)₂[pmd]{Ag(CN)₂}₂·H2O has been investigated at room temperature. It is shown that in this compound there is a complete transition from HS to LS state with pressure increase to 1GPa. Pressure relief gives a hysteresis with loop width of 0.2 GPa
Diferencias en las capturas no dirigidas y mortalidad directa de tortuga boba en palangre de superficie de acuerdo al estrato de flota y tipo de aparejo
Surface longline gears are used to fish different species, mainly albacore Thunnus alalunga (Bonnaterre, 1788), bluefin tuna Thunnus thynnus (Linnaeus, 1758), and swordfish Xiphias gladius Linnaeus, 1758, and are considered highly dangerous for threatened marine turtles. Loggerheads Caretta caretta (Linnaeus, 1758) can be incidentally captured by surface longlines. A number of captured individuals die during the fishing operation, which we consider direct mortality due to fishing. We analysed the relative loggerhead by-catch and direct mortality associated with each type of boat and gear from April to December during the period 1999-2004 in the Spanish surface longline fleet that fishes in the western Mediterranean Sea, an important fishing area for this fleet. We used different indices to compute the catch per unit effort (CPUE) according to the number of hooks and to the number of fishing operations for each type of boat and gear. Both by-catch and direct mortality differed significantly according to the type of boat and gear. With respect to the number of hooks, boats longer than 12 m not using a roller and targeting bluefin tuna captured the highest number of loggerheads, whereas boats longer than 12 m with a roller that targeted swordfish caused the highest direct mortality. With respect to the number of fishing operations, boats longer than 12 m without a roller that targeted albacore captured the highest number of loggerheads; the highest direct mortality was caused by this type of boat and by boats longer than 12 m using a roller and targeting swordfish.El palangre de superficie es usado para la pesca de diferentes especies, fundamentalmente atún blanco Thunnus alalunga (Bonnaterre, 1788), atún rojo Thunnus thynnus (Linnaeus, 1758) y pez espada Xiphias gladius Linnaeus, 1758, y es considerado altamente peligroso para las tortugas marinas amenazadas. La tortuga boba Caretta caretta (Linnaeus, 1758) puede ser capturada incidentalmente por el palangre de superficie y un número considerable de ellas puede morir durante la operación de pesca, y son consideradas como muertas directamente en el palangre. En este trabajo se analizan la capturas incidentales y la mortalidad directa relativa asociada a cada tipo de barco y aparejo de pesca, desde abril a diciembre durante el periodo 1999-2004, en la flota palangrera española en el Mediterráneo occidental, una importante área de pesca para esta flota. Se usaron diferentes índices para calcular las capturas por unidad de esfuerzo (CPUE) de acuerdo al número de anzuelos y al número de operaciones de pesca para cada tipo de barco y aparejo. Tanto las capturas no dirigidas de la tortuga boba como la mortalidad directa presentan diferencias significativas en función del tipo de barco y aparejo. Con respecto al número de anzuelos, los barcos mayores de 12 m de eslora sin rulo y especie objetivo atún rojo presentaron el mayor número de capturas relativas de tortuga boba, mientras que los barcos mayores de 12 m de eslora con rulo y especie objetivo pez espada presentaron los mayores valores de mortalidad directa. En función del número de operaciones de pesca, los barcos mayores de 12 m de eslora sin rulo y especie objetivo atún blanco presentaron el mayor número de capturas relativas de tortuga boba, mientras que los mayores índices de mortalidad directa relativa fueron observados en éstos y en los barcos mayores de 12 m con rulo y especie objetivo pez espada.
Automatic Positional Accuracy Assessment of Imagery Segmentation Processes: A Case Study
There are many studies related to Imagery Segmentation (IS) in the field of Geographic Information (GI). However, none of them address the assessment of IS results from a positional perspective. In a field in which the positional aspect is critical, it seems reasonable to think that the quality associated with this aspect must be controlled. This paper presents an automatic positional accuracy assessment (PAA) method for assessing this quality component of the regions obtained by means of the application of a textural segmentation algorithm to a Very High Resolution (VHR) aerial image. This method is based on the comparison between the ideal segmentation and the computed segmentation by counting their differences. Therefore, it has the same conceptual principles as the automatic procedures used in the evaluation of the GI's positional accuracy. As in any PAA method, there are two key aspects related to the sample that were addressed: (i) its size-specifically, its influence on the uncertainty of the estimated accuracy values-and (ii) its categorization. Although the results obtained must be taken with caution, they made it clear that automatic PAA procedures, which are mainly applied to carry out the positional quality assessment of cartography, are valid for assessing the positional accuracy reached using other types of processes. Such is the case of the IS process presented in this study

Влияние давления на фазовый переход высокий спин–низкий спин в изоструктурных полимерных соединениях
Исследовано влияние давления на переход высокий спин (HS)–низкий спин (LS) (для краткости обозначим HL) в двух изоморфных соединениях [Fe(pmd)(H₂O){M(CN)₂}₂]·H₂O (где M = Ag или Au). Изучено поведение температуры перехода Т₁/₂ и ширины гистерезиса ΔT при разных давлениях. Установлено, что для соединения Fe−Ag с ростом давления Т₁/₂ увеличивается монотонно, в то время как для Fe−Au – немонотонно. У обоих соединений при малых давлениях рост ширины гистерезиса незначителен, в диапазоне средних давлений наблюдается резкое увеличение ΔT, а при высоких давлениях ширина гистерезиса уменьшается. На основе феноменологической модели в приближении молекулярного поля проведен анализ экспериментальных результатов. Выяснено, что расчетные значения энергии PΔVHL не совпадают с энергией, соответствующей экспериментально наблюдаемым значениям T₁/₂.Pressure effect on high spin (HS)−low spin (LS) transition in two isomorphic compounds [Fe(pmd)(H₂O){M(CN)₂}₂]·H₂O (M = Ag or Au) has been investigated. The behavior of transition temperature T₁/₂ and hysteresis width ΔT has been studied for various pressures. It has been revealed that with pressure growth there is a monotonic increase of T₁/₂ for Fe−Ag and nonmonotonic one for Fe−Au. The both compounds show a negligible growth of the hysteresis width at low pressures, in the range of medium pressures the ΔT increases sharply and decreases at high pressures. The experimental results have been analysed basing on phenomenological model within the molecular field approximation. It has been determined that the calculated values of energy PΔVHL are inconsistent with the energy corresponding to experimentally observed values of T₁/₂
Phylogenetic triangulation: Using predator-prey-parasite interactions to infer population history from partial genetic information
Phylogeographic studies, which infer population history and dispersal movements from intra-specific spatial genetic variation, require expensive and time-consuming analyses that are not always feasible, especially in the case of rare or endangered species. On the other hand, comparative phylogeography of species involved in close biotic interactions may show congruent patterns depending on the specificity of the relationship. Consequently, the phylogeography of a parasite that needs two hosts to complete its life cycle should reflect population history traits of both hosts. Population movements evidenced by the parasite's phylogeography that are not reflected in the phylogeography of one of these hosts may thus be attributed to the other host. Using the wild rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) and a parasitic tapeworm (Taenia pisiformis) as an example, we propose comparing the phylogeography of easily available organisms such as game species and their specific heteroxenous parasites to infer population movements of definitive host/predator species, independently of performing genetic analyses on the latter. This may be an interesting approach for indirectly studying the history of species whose phylogeography is difficult to analyse directly
Avaliações cognitivas, emoções e coping : um estudo com futebolistas portugueses
O presente trabalho teve como objectivo analisar os padrões e
associações das estratégias de coping, da avaliação cognitiva, da ansiedade e de
outras emoções em atletas de futebol. Os sujeitos deste estudo foram 14
atletas, com idades entre 17 e 19 anos (M=18.35±0.71). Foram utilizados os
instrumentos: Escala de Avaliação Cognitiva da Competição – Percepção
Ameaça e Desafio; Inventário de Emoções no Desporto V-2; Escala de
Ansiedade no Desporto – 2; Escala de Avaliação da Ansiedade; e Brief COPE.
Os resultados mostraram a estratégia de coping mais frequente, o coping activo,
e a menos frequente, o uso de substâncias. A competição desportiva foi
percepcionada mais em termos de desafio do que ameaça, a esperança foi a
emoção mais experienciada e a vergonha foi a emoção menos experienciadaThis study aimed to analyze the patterns and associations of

The subjects were 14 athletes, aged between 17 and 19 years (M=18.35±0.71).
We used the instruments: Cognitive Assessment Scale Competition - Threat
and Challenge; Inventory Emotions in Sport V-2, Sport Anxiety Scale,
Revised Anxiety Rating Scale – 2, and Brief COPE. Results showed the most
common coping strategy, active coping, and the less frequent, substance use. The
sports competition was appraised more in terms of challenge than threat, hope
was the emotion more experienced and shame the emotion less experienced.Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar los patrones y las asociaciones
de las estrategias de coping, evaluación cognitiva, ansiedad y otras emociones
de jugadores de fútbol. Los sujetos fueron 14 atletas, con edades comprendidas
entre 17 y 19 años (M=18.35±0.71). Se utilizaron los instrumentos:
Escala de Evaluación Cognitiva de Competición-Percepción de Amenaza y
Desafio; Inventario de Emociones en el deporte V-2; Escala de Ansiedad de

Serum HER-2 concentration is associated with insulin resistance and decreases after weight loss
<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>HER2/<it>neu </it>is a member of the epidermal growth factor receptor family easily detectable in the serum of cancer patients. We aimed to evaluate circulating HER-2 concentrations in association with insulin resistance in healthy and obese subjects.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>Insulin sensitivity (minimal model) and serum HER-2 concentrations were evaluated in a cross sectional study in men (cohort 1, n = 167) and longitudinally after weight loss in obese subjects (cohort 2, n = 30).</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Serum HER-2 concentrations were positively associated with BMI and waist circumference (both r = 0.18, p = 0.02), post-load glucose (r = 0.28, p = 0.001) and fasting triglycerides (r = 0.26, p = 0.001); and negatively associated with insulin sensitivity (r = -0.29, p = 0.002, n = 109). Subjects with type 2 diabetes showed significantly increased soluble serum HER-2 concentrations. In different multivariate regression models, fasting triglycerides emerged as the factor that independently contributed to 10-11% of serum HER-2 variance.</p> <p>Serum HER-2 concentrations correlated significantly with fasting triglycerides and insulin sensitivity index in subjects from cohort 2. Weight loss led to a significant decrease of serum HER-2 concentrations. The change in serum HER-2 concentrations were significantly associated with the change in percent body fat and fasting triglycerides in young (below the median age of the cohort) subjects.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>Serum HER-2 concentrations might be implicated in the pathophysiology of insulin resistance and associated comorbidities.</p

Este trabajo tiene como finalidad poner de manifiesto la experiencia en la aplicación de nuevas herramientas de desarrollo de presentaciones como soporte y las explicaciones de aula. El ámbito temático de la estructura de computadores constituye, por sus singularidades, un terreno propicio para introducir estas nuevas herramientas. Mediante dos ejemplos se trata de ilustrar su empleo como soporte a las exposiciones teóricas, así como a la resolución de problemas
