Apoyo familiar en escolares de alta capacidad intelectual de diferentes contextos socioeducativos
El objetivo del trabajo fue analizar la percepción del apoyo familiar al aprendizaje en 79 alumnos de 6to grado con aptitud intelectual superior de tres contextos educativos (escuela urbana pública y privada, y rural indígena) en Morelos, México. Los alumnos respondieron la prueba SAGES-2 (Johnson & Corn, 2001) y el Cuestionario de Apoyo Familiar de Bazán & Domínguez (2009). Solamente se encontraron diferencias significativas entre los contextos analizados en la percepción de la comunicación regular con maestros relacionada con la materia Español, que fue percibida con mayor frecuencia en el contexto de la escuela privada, respecto al público indígena, independientemente del área de capacidades detectada. Se enfatiza la urgencia de investigar las variables del contexto socioeconómico y familiar para la comprensión de la manifestación, desarrollo y educación de las altas capacidades en alumnos de entornos culturales diferentes
Superconductivity in CoSr2(Y1-xCax)Cu2O7+d
The roles of aliovalent Ca(II)-for-Y(III) substitution and
high-pressure-oxygen annealing in the process of "superconducterizing" the
Co-based layered copper oxide, CoSr2(Y1-xCax)Cu2O7+d (Co-1212), were
investigated. The as-air-synthesized samples up to x = 0.4 were found
essentially oxygen stoichiometric (-0.03 <= d <= 0.00). These samples, however,
were not superconductive, suggesting that the holes created by the
divalent-for-trivalent cation substitution are trapped on Co in the charge
reservoir. Ultra-high-pressure heat treatment carried out at 5 GPa and 500C for
30 min in the presence of Ag2O2 as an excess oxygen source induced bulk
superconductivity in these samples. The highest Tc was obtained for the
high-oxygen-pressure treated x = 0.3 sample at ~40 K.Comment: 16 pages, 6 figures, submitted to Solid State Communication
Proper motions of the HH1 jet
We describe a new method for determining proper motions of extended objects,
and a pipeline developed for the application of this method. We then apply this
method to an analysis of four epochs of [S~II] HST images of the HH~1 jet
(covering a period of ~yr).
We determine the proper motions of the knots along the jet, and make a
reconstruction of the past ejection velocity time-variability (assuming
ballistic knot motions). This reconstruction shows an "acceleration" of the
ejection velocities of the jet knots, with higher velocities at more recent
times. This acceleration will result in an eventual merging of the knots in
~yr and at a distance of from the outflow source, close to
the present-day position of HH~1.Comment: 12 pages, 8 figure
Fanconi anemia protein FANCD2 inhibits TRF1 polyADP-ribosylation through tankyrase1-dependent manner
Background: Fanconi anemia (FA) is a rare autosomal recessive syndrome characterized by developmental abnormalities, progressive bone marrow failure, and predisposition to cancer. The key FA protein FANCD2 crosstalks with members of DNA damage and repair pathways that also play a role at telomeres. Therefore, we investigated whether FANCD2 has a similar involvement at telomeres. Results: We reveal that FANCD2 may perform a novel function separate to the FANCD2/BRCA pathway. This function includes FANCD2 interaction with one of the telomere components, the PARP family member tankyrase-1. Moreover, FANCD2 inhibits tankyrase-1 activity in vitro. In turn, FANCD2 deficiency increases the polyADP-ribosylation of telomere binding factor TRF1. Conclusions: FANCD2 binding and inhibiting tankyrase-1PARsylation at telomeres may provide an additional step within the FA pathway for the regulation of genomic integrity
Assessment of a Comparative Bayesian-Enhanced Population-Based Decision Model for COVID-19 Critical Care Prediction in the Dominican Republic Social Security Affiliates
Introduction: The novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been a major health concern worldwide. This study aims to develop a Bayesian model to predict critical outcomes in patients with COVID-19. Methods: Sensitivity and specificity were obtained from previous meta-analysis studies. The complex vulnerability index (IVC-COV2 index for its abbreviation in Spanish) was used to set the pretest probability. Likelihood ratios were integrated into a Fagan nomogram for posttest probabilities, and IVC-COV2 + National Early Warning Score (NEWS) values and CURB-65 scores were generated. Absolute and relative diagnostic gains (RDGs) were calculated based on pretest and posttest differences. Results: The IVC-COV2 index was derived from a population of 1,055,746 individuals and was based on mortality in high-risk (71.97%), intermediate-risk (26.11%), and low-risk (1.91%) groups. The integration of models in which IVC-COV2 intermediate + NEWS ≥ 5 and CURB-65 \u3e 2 led to a number needed to (NNT) diagnose that was slightly improved in the CURB-65 model (2 vs. 3). A comparison of diagnostic gains revealed that neither the positive likelihood ratio (P = 0.62) nor the negative likelihood ratio (P = 0.95) differed significantly between the IVC-COV2 NEWS model and the CURB-65 model. Conclusion: According to the proposed mathematical model, the combination of the IVC-COV2 intermediate score and NEWS or CURB-65 score yields superior results and a greater predictive value for the severity of illness. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first population-based/mathematical model developed for use in COVID-19 critical care decision-making
Danza como estrategia pedagógica para disminuir la agresividad en los niños de preescolar de la I.E.D el Tequendama sede Santa Rita
Proyecto de intervención realizado con los estudiantes del grado transición de la I.E.D. El Tequendama sede rural Santa Rita, cuyo objetivo principal es la disminución de los niveles de agresividad entre ellos, a través de la implementación de la danza como eje trasversal.
Luego de terminar la fase de aplicación de las diversas actividades propuestas para alcanzar dicho objetivo, se visualizó paulatinamente cambio positivo en las conductas que presentaban los estudiantes, el ambiente escolar se fue tornando más pacífico, rodeado de mayor tolerancia, así como incremento en la atención y participación en clase por parte de estos niños
