    Implications for teaching college physics in the development of creativity.

    In this research the current requirements to higher education, which should be in line with the scientific-technological development while encouraging the development potential of each student, are considered. A summary of the essential relationships between the epistemological nature of physics since its connotation for teaching and learning process in college is shown. Furthermore, the epistemological characteristics of this science, which have a direct and relationship with their didactic process oriented to the development of the creativity in students, is valued. Also the significance that may have the study of physics for students when linked to other sciences and life in general is taken into account.     Propiedades mecánicas de madera de raleo de 6 años provenientes de plantaciones de Guazuma crinita en Puerto Inca - Huánuco

Departamento Académico de Industrias ForestalesEn la última década las plantaciones forestales se han desarrollado por gran parte del territorio nacional, especialmente sierra y selva. En ese sentido, el Ministerio Nacional de Agricultura y Riego - MINAM en el anuario “Perú Forestal 2015” reporta que solo para el departamento de Huánuco al año 2015 existe superficie reforestada de 48023,22 ha, siendo la producción total de madera rolliza de bolaina en Huánuco aproximadamente el 20% de la producción total nacional de madera en el país durante ese año. Una de las especies más utilzadas en el establecimiento de plantaciones forestales con fines de producción es la Guazuma crinita “bolaina” debido a su versatilidad y rápido crecimiento que significa ingresos en pocos años a comparación de otras especies con un turno de aprovechamiento mayor. Por tal motivo, en los últimos años la empresa Reforestadora Amazónica S.A. “RAMSA” ha instalado plantaciones de Guazuma crinita de cuatro edades diferentes en un extensión de alrededor de 287 ha en el sector Maquizapallo en la provincia de Puerto Inca-Huánuco, siendo las plantaciones 2007 de seis años (62,97 ha) las evaluadas en la presente investigación. Durante la colección, se seleccionaron puntos de muestreo al azar, que cumplan con características de fisiografía de colina alta y calidad de sitio media, con la finalidad que los ensayos no se vean afectados por otros factores externos y realizar una mejor prueba representativa de madera de raleo con dichas características; teniendo como resultado final siete árboles de raleo comercial provenientes de plantaciones, de los cuales se obtuvieron probetas para la evaluación posterior de los ensayos en las propiedades mecánicas. Los resultados obtenidos indican que los valores promedios de las propiedades mecánicas y peso específico evaluados presentan una relación inversa con el incremento a nivel longitudinal. Así mismo; los valores promedios de las propiedades mecánicas de madera de raleo de seis años son inferiores en relación a la madera de raleo de menor edad comparadas con otros estudios; de igual manera; los valores de resistencia para madera de raleo encontrados son inferiores a los de bosque natural para los ensayos de flexión estática, compresión paralela y perpendicular. La aptitud de uso recomendada para la madera de raleo evaluada de seis años es como materia prima para la producción de tableros a base de madera, pulpa para papel y elaboración de pequeños artículos de madera.Tesi

    Sistema de gestión de seguridad y salud ocupacional para prevenir enfermedades laborales en trabajadores de la Red de Salud Moyobamba

    La presente investigación “Sistema de Gestión de Seguridad y Salud Ocupacional para prevenir enfermedades laborales en trabajadores de la Red de Salud Moyobamba, se fundamenta básicamente en la normativa nacional, Ley N° 29783 y su Reglamento; presenta una investigación descriptiva con propuesta. La población y muestra fue de 51 trabajadores de la sede administrativa. Para la recopilación de información se utilizó como técnica la encuesta y como instrumento principal el cuestionario, para identificar las enfermedades laborales se hizo una revisión de bases de datos y una matriz IPER para identificar los peligros y evaluar los riesgos. Se concluyó que la Red de Salud presenta los factores de riesgos ergonómico tiene un alto porcentaje de 65%, seguido del riesgo biológico con un 53%, el factor de riesgo arquitectónico tiene 49%, el factor de riesgo psicosocial posee un 46%, seguido del riesgo mecánico con un 44%; además presento 59 potenciales peligros, de los cuales 27 de ellos son de valoración importante, 22 de valoración moderada y 10 de valoración tolerable; siendo las áreas de mayor probabilidad que exista incidentes la Oficina de Planificación e Inteligencia Sanitaria y salud Colectiva. A partir de los resultados encontrados se diseñó una propuesta con enfoque de prevención para reducir las enfermedades laborales

    Pairwise gene GO-based measures for biclustering of high-dimensional expression data

    Background: Biclustering algorithms search for groups of genes that share the same behavior under a subset of samples in gene expression data. Nowadays, the biological knowledge available in public repositories can be used to drive these algorithms to find biclusters composed of groups of genes functionally coherent. On the other hand, a distance among genes can be defined according to their information stored in Gene Ontology (GO). Gene pairwise GO semantic similarity measures report a value for each pair of genes which establishes their functional similarity. A scatter search-based algorithm that optimizes a merit function that integrates GO information is studied in this paper. This merit function uses a term that addresses the information through a GO measure. Results: The effect of two possible different gene pairwise GO measures on the performance of the algorithm is analyzed. Firstly, three well known yeast datasets with approximately one thousand of genes are studied. Secondly, a group of human datasets related to clinical data of cancer is also explored by the algorithm. Most of these data are high-dimensional datasets composed of a huge number of genes. The resultant biclusters reveal groups of genes linked by a same functionality when the search procedure is driven by one of the proposed GO measures. Furthermore, a qualitative biological study of a group of biclusters show their relevance from a cancer disease perspective. Conclusions: It can be concluded that the integration of biological information improves the performance of the biclustering process. The two different GO measures studied show an improvement in the results obtained for the yeast dataset. However, if datasets are composed of a huge number of genes, only one of them really improves the algorithm performance.     To achieve transcendent purposes by means of the education, it is very important the idea of assuming pedagogic tendencies with accented formative function that could achieve a more effective impact that the elementary traditional education, based on the student's instruction, in occasions with a cognitive dimension and memorization of information. In this work approaches and proposals are synthesized starting from investigations in the educational reality with the purpose of favoring the student's integral formation. The investigations in this area have been administered by the Center of Studies of Sciences of the Education, in the University of Camagüey, Cuba and the present work synthesizes the authors' experiences that have had as study object the formative process in different scenarios and education levels, in which have acted with a formative premeditation to achieve qualities of this processes in function of the integral formation, and especially the one that puts of relief a social and humanistic point of view.Para lograr fines trascendentes mediante la educación se va consolidando la idea de asumir e instrumentar tendencias pedagógicas con acentuada función formativa, que logren un impacto más efectivo que la elemental educación tradicional entendida como instrucción del alumno, en ocasiones en una dimensión principalmente cognitiva y memorística. En este trabajo se sintetizan criterios y propuestas a partir de investigaciones en la realidad educativa con el propósito de favorecer la formación integral del estudiante. Las investigaciones en esta línea se han gestionado desde el Centro de Estudios de Ciencias de la Educación, en la Universidad de Camagüey, Cuba y el presente trabajo sintetiza experiencias de los autores que han tenido como objeto de estudio el proceso formativo en diferentes escenarios y niveles de educación, en los cuales han actuado con una intencionalidad formativa para lograr cualidades de dichos procesos en función de la formación integral, y en especial la que pone de relieve un enfoque socio-humanista

    Multidisciplinary approach to treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors in patients with HIV, tuberculosis, or underlying autoimmune diseases

Available data show that treatment with ICIs is safe in patients with HIV; it is advisable, however, that these patients receive adequate antiretroviral therapy and have an undetectable viral load before ICIs are initiated. Tuberculosis reactivation has been reported with the use of ICIs, possibly due to immune dysregulation. Tuberculosis has also been associated with the use of immunosuppressors to treat immune-related adverse events (irAEs). Active tuberculosis must be ruled out in patients with symptoms or signs, and selected patients may benefit from screening for latent tuberculosis infection, although more data are required. Limited data exist regarding the safety of ICIs in patients with cancer and autoimmune disease. Data from observational studies suggest that up to 29% of patients with a preexisting autoimmune disease treated with an ICI present with an autoimmune disease flare, and 30% present with a de novo irAE of any type. The frequency of flares appears to differ according to the type of ICI received, with higher rates associated with PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors. The most common autoimmune diseases for which patients reported flares with ICI therapy are rheumatoid arthritis, other inflammatory arthritis, and psoriasis. Most studies have reported flares or de novo irAEs associated with ICIs that were mild to moderate, with low rates of discontinuation and no deaths due to flares. Therefore, the use of ICIs in these patients is possible, but careful monitoring is required.ML-O's work is supported by the National Cancer Institute (#CA237619)

    Evolutionary Metaheuristic for Biclustering based on Linear Correlations among Genes

    A new measure to evaluate the quality of a bicluster is proposed in this paper. This measure is based on correlations among genes. Moreover, a new evolutionary metaheuristic based on Scatter Search, which uses this measure as the fitness function, is presented to obtain biclusters that contain groups de highly-correlated genes. Later, an analysis of the correlation matrix of these biclusters is made to select these groups of genes that define new biclusters with shifting and scaling patterns.     Biclustering of Gene Expression Data by Correlation-Based Scatter Search

    BACKGROUND: The analysis of data generated by microarray technology is very useful to understand how the genetic information becomes functional gene products. Biclustering algorithms can determine a group of genes which are co-expressed under a set of experimental conditions. Recently, new biclustering methods based on metaheuristics have been proposed. Most of them use the Mean Squared Residue as merit function but interesting and relevant patterns from a biological point of view such as shifting and scaling patterns may not be detected using this measure. However, it is important to discover this type of patterns since commonly the genes can present a similar behavior although their expression levels vary in different ranges or magnitudes. METHODS: Scatter Search is an evolutionary technique that is based on the evolution of a small set of solutions which are chosen according to quality and diversity criteria. This paper presents a Scatter Search with the aim of finding biclusters from gene expression data. In this algorithm the proposed fitness function is based on the linear correlation among genes to detect shifting and scaling patterns from genes and an improvement method is included in order to select just positively correlated genes. RESULTS: The proposed algorithm has been tested with three real data sets such as Yeast Cell Cycle dataset, human B-cells lymphoma dataset and Yeast Stress dataset, finding a remarkable number of biclusters with shifting and scaling patterns. In addition, the performance of the proposed method and fitness function are compared to that of CC, OPSM, ISA, BiMax, xMotifs and Samba using Gene the Ontology Database

    Correlation–Based Scatter Search for Discovering Biclusters from Gene Expression Data

    Scatter Search is an evolutionary method that combines ex isting solutions to create new offspring as the well–known genetic algo rithms. This paper presents a Scatter Search with the aim of finding biclusters from gene expression data. However, biclusters with certain patterns are more interesting from a biological point of view. Therefore, the proposed Scatter Search uses a measure based on linear correlations among genes to evaluate the quality of biclusters. As it is usual in Scatter Search methodology an improvement method is included which avoids to find biclusters with negatively correlated genes.     Humanistic creative education university student: specificity in the learning of Physics

    El presente artículo muestra algunos de los resultados a la luz del Proyecto: “Formación de Profesores en Creatividad Aplicada”, financiado por el Programa de Cooperación Interuniversitaria e Investigación Científica (PCI-AECID, 2009-10). Su intención fundamental consiste en la aportación teórica-práctica del tratamiento a este tema, a través del proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje de la Física, en base a un estudio realizado en la facultad de Físico-matemáticas de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. Se parte de que en diferentes fuentes se encuentran interesantes propuestas relacionadas con el desarrollo de la creatividad, pero en su mayoría la abordan desde la dimensión cognitiva. Se exponen las bases teóricas fundamentales en las que se sustenta el estudio. Se aplican diferentes técnicas (encuestas a estudiantes y docentes, variante de técnica de Guilfort, composiciones) para comprobar el estado del objeto de investigación y a partir de los resultados obtenidos, se presentan posibles vías de solución.This article demonstrates some results related to the Project: “Teacher Training in Applied Creativity” (Interuniversity Cooperation Programme and Scientific Research) (PCI-AECID, 2009-10). Its fundamental aim is the theoretical and practical contribution of treatment to this issue through the process of teaching and learning of physics, based on a study in the power physics and mathematics at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León. It assumes that different sources are interesting proposals concerning the development of creativity, but most of the address from the cognitive dimension.
