Weakly distributive categories

AbstractThere are many situations in logic, theoretical computer science, and category theory where two binary operations — one thought of as a (tensor) “product”, the other a “sum” — play a key role. In distributive and ∗-autonomous categories these operations can be regarded as, respectively, the and/or of traditional logic and the times/par of (multiplicative) linear logic. In the latter logic, however, the distributivity of product over sum is conspicuously absent: this paper studies a “linearization” of that distributivity which is present in both case. Furthermore, we show that this weak distributivity is precisely what is needed to model Gentzen's cut rule (in the absence of other structural rules) and can be strengthened in two natural ways to generate full distributivity and ∗-autonomous categories

O bagaço da cana-de-açúcar em combinação com folhas caulinares de bambu para seu emprego em chapas de partículas

O desenvolvimento e o progresso industrial beneficiaram a humanidade com muitas facilidades e avanços tecnológicos importantes. Porém, trouxeram consigo conseqüências avassaladoras como os impactos ambientais causados pela exploração indiscriminada de recursos naturais. Assim surgiam alternativas ecologicamente corretas a fim de reduzir os impactos ambientais e gerenciar da melhor forma o uso dos recursos naturais, como o de pesquisas desenvolvidas com materiais de construção alternativos. Seguindo essa iniciativa, este trabalho tem como objetivo a produção e análise de chapas de partículas fabricadas com folhas caulinares de bambu e bagaço da cana-de-açúcar, e o levantamento das usinas de beneficiamento de cana-de-açúcar do estado de São Paulo. Essas chapas de vedação utilizam o bagaço oriundo de uma usina cujo resíduo advém do processo de fabricação do açúcar e do álcool.The development and industrial progress have brought many facilities and technological advances to mankind. However, it also brought devastating consequences such as environmental impacts caused by indiscriminate exploitation of natural resources. Thus arose environmentally friendly alternatives to reduce environmental impacts and better manage the use of natural resources, such as the researches developed with alternative building materials. Following this initiative, this work aims the production and analysis of particleboards made with with bamboo leaf steam and sugar cane bagasse, besides a data collection of sugar-cane mills of the state of Sao Paulo. These sealing boards uses the bagasse coming from a mill whose waste comes from the manufacturing process of sugar and alcohol

Kidung Tantri Kediri : kajian filologis sebuah naskah Jawa Pertengahan

This study contains a text edition of the Kidung Tantri Kĕdiri, a Middle-Javanese text from the Indonesian island of Bali. This text is an adaptation of the Old Javanese prose text Tantri Kāmandaka, and as such it belongs to the world literature. The Tantri Kāmandaka is an Old Javanese version of the Pañcatantra. The text is translated into Modern Indonesian. Furthermore this book contains some discussions about the manuscripts and a comparison between this and the original in prose. Natural deduction and coherence for weakly distributive categories

AbstractThis paper examines coherence for certain monoidal categories using techniques coming from the proof theory of linear logic, in particular making heavy use of the graphical techniques of proof nets. We define a two sided notion of proof net, suitable for categories like weakly distributive categories which have the two-tensor structure (times/par) of linear logic, but lack a negation operator. Representing morphisms in weakly distributive categories as such nets, we derive a coherence theorem for such categories. As part of this process, we develop a theory of expansion-reduction systems with equalities and a term calculus for proof nets, each of which is of independent interest. In the symmetric case the expansion-reduction system on the term calculus yields a decision procedure for the equality of maps for free weakly distributive categories.The main results of this paper are these. First we have proved coherence for the full theory of weakly distributive categories, extending similar results for monoidal categories to include the treatment of the tensor units. Second, we extend these coherence results to the full theory of ∗-autonomous categories — providing a decision procedure for the maps of free symmetric ∗-autonomous categories. Third, we derive a conservative extension result for the passage from weakly distributive categories to ∗-autonomous categories. We show strong categorical conservativity, in the sense that the unit of the adjunction between weakly distributive and ∗-autonomous categories is fully faithful

Abstract The State of Indonesia is a country that is traversed by the Ring of Fire, which means that the State of Indonesia has the privilege that there are many volcanoes in Indonesia. This is also caused by the existence of a subduction line that surrounds Indonesia from the west end to the east end, making Indonesia a country frequently hit by earthquakes. The purpose of this research is to make evacuation routes more efficient and effective in terms of safety and smoothness where these independent evacuation routes are supported by new theories that are more supportive then new tools that can support research and also data that which can show the differences that are useful in making this evacuation route map. The method used in this study basically emphasizes quantitative research methods, although qualitative ones must still be used. This research method uses quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitative research uses statistics in testing the data so that the relationship between variables can be obtained objectively.
