Anderson Localization in Disordered Vibrating Rods
We study, both experimentally and numerically, the Anderson localization
phenomenon in torsional waves of a disordered elastic rod, which consists of a
cylinder with randomly spaced notches. We find that the normal-mode wave
amplitudes are exponentially localized as occurs in disordered solids. The
localization length is measured using these wave amplitudes and it is shown to
decrease as a function of frequency. The normal-mode spectrum is also measured
as well as computed, so its level statistics can be analyzed. Fitting the
nearest-neighbor spacing distribution a level repulsion parameter is defined
that also varies with frequency. The localization length can then be expressed
as a function of the repulsion parameter. There exists a range in which the
localization length is a linear function of the repulsion parameter, which is
consistent with Random Matrix Theory. However, at low values of the repulsion
parameter the linear dependence does not hold.Comment: 10 pages, 6 figure
Molecular gas at supernova local environments unveiled by EDGE
CO observations allow estimations of the gas content of molecular clouds,
which trace the reservoir of cold gas fuelling star formation, as well as to
determine extinction via H column density, N(H). Here, we studied
millimetric and optical properties at 26 supernovae (SNe) locations of
different types in a sample of 23 nearby galaxies by combining molecular
CO (J = 1 0) resolved maps from the EDGE survey and
optical Integral Field Spectroscopy from the CALIFA survey. We found an even
clearer separation between type II and type Ibc SNe in terms of molecular gas
than what we found in the optical using H emission as a proxy for
current SF rate, which reinforces the fact that SNe Ibc are more associated
with SF-environments. While A at SN locations is similar for SNe II and SNe
Ibc, and higher compared to SNe Ia, N(H) is significantly higher for SNe
Ibc than for SNe II and SNe Ia. When compared to alternative extinction
estimations directly from SN photometry and spectroscopy, we find that our SNe
Ibc have also redder color excess but showed standard Na I D absorption
pseudo-equivalent widths (1 \AA). In some cases we find no extinction
when estimated from the environment, but high amounts of extinction when
measured from SN observations, which suggests that circumstellar material or
dust sublimation may be playing a role. This work serves as a benchmark for
future studies combining last generation millimeter and optical IFS instruments
to reveal the local environmental properties of extragalactic SNe.Comment: MNRAS accepted, 17 pages, 8 Figures, 4 Table
Transferencia de resultados de investigación para el ahorro de agua y de la energía en comunidades de regantes a través del entorno de gestión integrada CORENET-COREGEST
En la actualidad se está produciendo un incremento en la demanda para realizar una gestión
optimizada del agua y de la energía empleadas en el regadío. Esto ha dado lugar a una
importante actividad de I+D con diferentes sistemas, productos y servicios, que comparten el
objetivo de mejorar la aplicación del agua y/o de la energía. Sin embargo, el conocimiento
generado choca con dificultades a la hora de transferir los resultados hacia los usuarios
finales. Esto es debido, al menos en parte, a la necesidad de que las Comunidades de
Regantes cambien su modelo de gestión y sean capaces de integrar los resultados de este
conocimiento con los procesos normales de gestión que se emplean en las mismas.
SERINA ha desarrollado la metodología y el Enterprsise Resource Planning (ERP) de
gestión CORENET-COREGEST, que permite modernizar los procesos de gestión de las
Comunidades de Regantes e integrar herramientas/sistemas/servicios externos generados
por los centros de I+D con el objetivo de mejorar la gestión, fundamentalmente, del agua y
de la energía.
En este trabajo se muestran algunos casos que ilustran lo anterior y se explican las ventajas
para las Comunidades de Regantes usuarias así como por los centros de I+D que han
integrado sus productos en CORENET-COREGEST

A comparative study between wmms and tls for the stability analysis of the San Pedro church barrel vault by means of the finite element method
Stability of masonry constructions is highly conditioned by the geometric disposition of its elements due to its low tensile strength and great compressive mechanical properties. Under this framework, this paper attempts to evaluate the suitability of a wearable mobile mapping solution, equipped in a backpack and based on the well-known simultaneous location and mapping paradigm, for the structural diagnosis of historical constructions. To evaluate the suitability of this device, the structural analysis obtained is compared with a high precision terrestrial laser scanner, which is considered as ground truth. The Romanesque church of San Pedro (Becerril del Carpio, Spain) was selected as a study case. This construction, initially conceived in the XIIIth century, has experimented in the past a soil settlement promoting the leaning of the north wall, several plastic hinges in its barrel vault and a visible geometrical deformation. The comparison of both techniques was carried out at different levels: i) an evaluation of the time needed to obtain the point cloud of the church; ii) an accuracy assessment based on the comparison of a terrestrial network using artificial spheres as checkpoints and; iii) an evaluation of the discrepancies, in terms of safety factor and collapse topology, found during the advance numerical evaluation of the barrel vault by means of the finite element method. Diseño de un Regulador de Frecuencia en base a dispositivos PSoC
Presently work is carried out the design of a Regulator of Frequency for micro, mini and small central hydroelectric isolated with a microcontrolador PSoC. For the realization of the design the Software ISIS Professional of the Proteus7 is used Professional and the development environment PSoC Designer v5.1 to compile the code source. A study of the microcontroladores PsoC is made and the characteristic of the PSoC CY8C27443-24PXI is detailed. Their digital and analogical blocks are described, as well as the E/S pines, the excitement ways and the configuration of interruptions. Finally a diagram is shown in blocks of the Regulator of Frequency and then the electric outline is designed of each one of the blocks. Being achieved the design of a Regulator of Frequency, for the load method ballasts for micro, mini and small central hydroelectric isolated, based on devices PSoC.

Tracking Plum pox virus in Chile throughout the year by three different methods and molecular characterization of Chilean isolates
During 2007, a survey was performed to detect and identify Plum pox virus (PPV) in Chilean stone fruit commercial orchards. A total of 1396 trees were analyzed and 45 (3.22 %) of them resulted positive. A fragment of 467 bp, corresponding to the replicase-coat protein (Nib-CP) region from the virus genome, was amplified and the the sequences obtained permitted the characterization of all isolates as PPV-D type, confirming that, so far, this is the only serotype present in Chile. To optimize virus detection, 27 PPV-positive trees were selected and sampled monthly from December 2006 until December 2007, collecting plant tissues available at the time of sampling (leaves, cuttings, buds and flowers). Each sample was analyzed by three different techniques: DASI-ELISA, RT-PCR and non-isotopic molecular hybridization (MH). The results showed that RT-PCR was more sensitive for detection in all months excepting January 2007, when the three techniques showed the same sensitivity. In general, MH showed a better sensitivity compared with DASI-ELISA. The best plant materials for analysis were: leaves, in February, March, September and October; phloem from cuttings in June; buds in July, and flowers in August. El Servicio de Urgencias del C.H.G.U.V. cuenta con una plantilla de 84 Enfermeros/as. Una
parte considerable de ellos es personal de nueva incorporación, de ahí que sea prioritaria la
elaboración de protocolos de actuación.
La administración de medicación intravenosa es sin duda una de las técnicas de mayor
aplicación en los pacientes que acuden a Urgencias, que en nuestro Hospital oscila entre
550-600 atenciones diarias.
Por ello nos planteamos, mediante la realización de reuniones de grupo, la elaboración del
presente trabajo con el objetivo de elaborar un manual informativo sobre la medicación más
habitual utilizada en nuestro Servicio de Urgencias; indicaciones, contraindicaciones,
diluciones, cuidados y recomendaciones sobre la administración que nos ayude a visionar la
practica en nuestro trabajo y la calidad del Servicio que prestamos a nuestros pacientes, y
sirva de consulta sobre todo al personal de nueva incorporación.The First aid service of the C.H.G.U.V. Nurse is provided with a staff of 84, a considerable

The administration of intravenous medication is undoubtedly one of the most used
techniques in patients who come to the emergency room, which in our Hospital ranges
between 550-600 daily attentions. For this reason, we considered that carrying out group meetings in order to elaborate the
present essay. Our main objective is to prepare an informative guidebook about the most
common used medicines in our first aid service: indications, contraindications, dilutions, care,
and recommendations on the use. In this sense it will contribute to see the practice in our
work and the service quality that we give to our patients. And what is more, it will serve as a
reference particularly to the new [email protected]
