This research is motivated by consumer behaviour which are varied and difficult to predict that causes the business world changes so fast. Consumers wants a products that suits their taste, lifestyle, and their needs. This leads the companies to experiencing strict competition caused by the increasingly consumer complex demands. One of the product that always follow consumer tastes is shoes. Shoes is no longer needed only for a footwear that protects feet from sharp objects, but also as a fashion product, so the design, material, and pattern became very varied. However, in the period 2009-2013 the sales of Converse sneakers shoes has fluctuated and always under Adidas, Nike and Bata.The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of lifestyle, brand imange and product quality on purchase decision of Converse sneakers shoes. This research method is explanatory, with data collection through questionnaires and interviews. The sampling technique used purposive and proportional technique sampling. The samples are 96 peoples whom are college student of Diponegoro University Semarang. The analysis technique used was qualitative and quantitative. Quantitative analysis using validity, reliability,correlation coefficient, coefficient of determination, simple and multiple regression analysis, as well as the significance test (t test and F test). The results of this study showed a relatively good level of lifestyle, brand image and product quality and high purchase decision.All independent variables, namely lifestyle (X1), brand image (X2), and product quality (X3) together (simultaneously) or individually (partial) affect purchase decision dependent variable (Y). Advice that can be given is the need to improve ways of promotion, innovate in the design of Converse sneakers that are to not assessed as monotonous and provide many options to purchases Converse sneakers shoes

Chromatin Protamination and Catsper Expression in Spermatozoa Predict Clinical Outcomes after Assisted Reproduction Programs

Abstract Identification of parameters predicting assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs) success is a major goal of research in reproduction. Quality of gametes is essential to achieve good quality embryos and increase the success of ARTs. We evaluated two sperm parameters, chromatin maturity and expression of the sperm specific calcium channel CATSPER, in relation to ART outcomes in 206 couples undergoing ARTs. Chromatin maturity was evaluated by Chromomycin A3 (CMA3) for protamination and Aniline Blue (AB) for histone persistence and CATSPER expression by a flow cytometric method. CMA3 positivity and CATSPER expression significantly predicted the attainment of good quality embryos with an OR of 6.6 and 14.3 respectively, whereas AB staining was correlated with fertilization rate. In the subgroup of couples with women ≤35 years, CATSPER also predicted achievement of clinical pregnancy (OR = 4.4). Including CMA3, CATSPER and other parameters affecting ART outcomes (female age, female factor and number of MII oocytes), a model that resulted able to predict good embryo quality with high accuracy was developed. CMA3 staining and CATSPER expression may be considered two applicable tools to predict ART success and useful for couple counseling. This is the first study demonstrating a role of CATSPER expression in embryo development after ARTs programs

Red Flags for early referral of people with symptoms suggestive of narcolepsy: a report from a national multidisciplinary panel

Objective: Narcolepsy is a lifelong disease, manifesting with excessive daytime sleepiness and cataplexy, arising between childhood and young adulthood. The diagnosis is typically made after a long delay that burdens the disease severity. The aim of the project, promoted by the \u201cAssociazione Italiana Narcolettici e Ipersonni\u201d is to develop Red Flags to detect symptoms for early referral, targeting non-sleep medicine specialists, general practitioners, and pediatricians. Materials and methods: A multidisciplinary panel, including patients, public institutions, and representatives of national scientific societies of specialties possibly involved in the diagnostic process of suspected narcolepsy, was convened. The project was accomplished in three phases. Phase 1: Sleep experts shaped clinical pictures of narcolepsy in pediatric and adult patients. On the basis of these pictures, Red Flags were drafted. Phase 2: Representatives of the scientific societies and patients filled in a form to identify barriers to the diagnosis of narcolepsy. Phase 3: The panel produced suggestions for the implementation of Red Flags. Results: Red Flags were produced representing three clinical pictures of narcolepsy in pediatric patients ((1) usual sleep symptoms, (2) unusual sleep symptoms, (3) endocrinological signs) and two in adult patients ((1) usual sleep symptoms, (2) unusual sleep symptoms). Inadequate knowledge of symptoms at onset by medical doctors turned out to be the main reported barrier to diagnosis. Conclusions: This report will hopefully enhance knowledge and awareness of narcolepsy among non-specialists in sleep medicine in order to reduce the diagnostic delay that burdens patients in Italy. Similar initiatives could be promoted across Europe

Hippocampal morphology and cognitive functions in community-dwelling older people:the Lothian Birth Cohort 1936

Structural measures of the hippocampus have been linked to a variety of memory processes and also to broader cognitive abilities. Gross volumetry has been widely used, yet the hippocampus has a complex formation, comprising distinct subfields which may be differentially sensitive to the deleterious effects of age, and to different aspects of cognitive performance. However, a comprehensive analysis of multidomain cognitive associations with hippocampal deformations among a large group of cognitively normal older adults is currently lacking. In 654 participants of the Lothian Birth Cohort 1936 (mean age = 72.5, SD = 0.71 years), we examined associations between the morphology of the hippocampus and a variety of memory tests (spatial span, letter-number sequencing, verbal recall, and digit backwards), as well as broader cognitive domains (latent measures of speed, fluid intelligence, and memory). Following correction for age, sex, and vascular risk factors, analysis of memory subtests revealed that only right hippocampal associations in relation to spatial memory survived type 1 error correction in subiculum and in CA1 at the head (β = 0.201, p = 5.843 × 10(−4), outward), and in the ventral tail section of CA1 (β = −0.272, p = 1.347 × 10(−5), inward). With respect to latent measures of cognitive domains, only deformations associated with processing speed survived type 1 error correction in bilateral subiculum (β(absolute) ≤ 0.247, p < 1.369 × 10(−4), outward), bilaterally in the ventral tail section of CA1 (β(absolute) ≤ 0.242, p < 3.451 × 10(−6), inward), and a cluster at the left anterior-to-dorsal region of the head (β = 0.199, p = 5.220 × 10(−6), outward). Overall, our results indicate that a complex pattern of both inward and outward hippocampal deformations are associated with better processing speed and spatial memory in older age, suggesting that complex shape-based hippocampal analyses may provide valuable information beyond gross volumetry
