O “TRATORAÇO”, E A VULNERABILIDADE DO MONOCULTIVO DE GRÃOS NA AGRICULTURA BRASILEIRA

Em junho de 2005 houve em todo o Brasil uma intensa mobilização de produtores rurais a qual culminou com manifestações em praças e estradas nas quais os tratores se faziam presentes ruidosamente, bloqueando o acesso e impedindo o trânsito. Foi intensa a cobertura da imprensa a estas manifestações que levaram a concessões governamentais e mudanças nos instrumentos de política agrícola com vistas a reduzir custos, facilitar acesso a mercados e, consequentemente restaurar a competitividade das atividades que se encontravam ameaçada. Os movimentos sociais, sobretudo o MST, Movimentos dos Sem Terra, criticaram as concessões feitas pelo governo que, segundo os mesmos, tratava de modo diferenciado os componentes do “agronegócio”. O que tinham em comum estes agricultores? Em que regiões do país se inseriam? Todos os produtores rurais brasileiros se sentiam representados nestas mobilizações e as apoiavam? O estudo das aglomerações produtivas, mais comumente chamadas no Brasil de Arranjos Produtivos Locais, ou apenas “APLs”, ganhou impulso nas últimas décadas em virtude da importância de algumas experiências bem-sucedidas de desenvolvimento de capacitações produtivas e empresariais nesse tipo de organização territorial da produção. Além disso, essas estruturas produtivas localizadas passaram a ser crescentemente foco da atenção de diversos órgãos públicos e instituições por meio de ações e medidas de apoio e ao desenvolvimento da competitividade das empresas locais.O trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar as aderências dos casos do APL de piscicultura, do Baixo São Francisco no Estado da Bahia, município de Paulo Afonso, ao modelo ideal de APL e, com isso, minimizar eventuais riscos de baixo retorno aos investimentos efetuados. Empowering higher education teachers in flexible teaching methodologies: the ENID-Teach Project

Poster apresentado no Encontro Ciência 2024 na Universidade do Porto (dias 3, 4 e 5 de julho).The European network in D-flexible teaching (ENID-Teach) project is a pedagogical design proposal aimed at university teachers, professors, trainers, and teacher educators. Its primary goal is to help educators master D-Flexible Learning methodologies, apply microlearning techniques, and enhance their digital competence in digital pedagogies. The project is structured around five Nano Open Online Courses (NOOCs), each focusing on specific teaching methodologies. The NOOCs are offered in English, French, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese, and are based on microlearning techniques. They are intended to be audiovisually accessible, with content provided in various formats to facilitate access for everyone. The courses are structured to include 25 hours of work, with approximately 10 hours of content and 15 hours of personal work, including readings, research, activities, and exercises with both descriptive and interactive resources. The project is aligned with the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators (DiCompEdu) and the UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers, adhering to the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) principle of "leave no one behind." Orientalismo em tempos de pandemia: discursos sobre a China no jornalismo brasileiro

O artigo explora os discursos associados à China no jornalismo brasileiro diante do contexto da pandemia da COVID-19. Para tanto, utiliza-se como metodologia uma coleta e análise qualitativa de matérias jornalísticas. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam para a permanência do orientalismo enquanto base discursiva dos conteúdos analisados, bem como para a importância crescente de um diálogo mais íntimo e informado entre Brasil e China na construção de um mundo pós-Ocidental num cenário pós-pandemia

Kidney involvement in malaria: an update

Malaria is an infectious disease of great importance for Public Health, as it is the most prevalent endemic disease in the world, affecting millions of people living in tropical areas of the globe. Kidney involvement is relatively frequent in infections by P. falciparum and P. malariae, but has also been described in the infection by P. vivax. Kidney complications in malaria mainly occur due to hemodynamic dysfunction and immune response. Liver complications leading to hepatomegaly, jaundice and hepatic dysfunction can also contribute to the occurrence of acute kidney injury. Histologic studies in malaria also evidence glomerulonephritis, acute tubular necrosis and acute interstitial nephritis. It is also possible to find chronic kidney disease associated with malaria, mainly in those patients suffering from repeated episodes of infection. Plasmodium antigens have already been detected in the glomeruli, suggesting a direct effect of the parasite in the kidney, which can trigger an inflammatory process leading to different types of glomerulonephritis. Clinical manifestations of kidney involvement in malaria include proteinuria, microalbuminuria and urinary casts, reported in 20 to 50% of cases. Nephrotic syndrome has also been described in the infection by P. falciparum, but it is rare. This paper highlights the main aspects of kidney involvement in malaria and important findings of the most recent research addressing this issue
